Chapter 74: Chapter 47: Glazed Truth Condensing Pot, Great Destruction Geng Gold Sword
"This mountain stream is too shallow, and the Spiritual Qi is mediocre. How could it possibly be worthy of me?"
"Yes..."
"This pool isn’t bad. It’s quite deep, but it gets no sunlight. Living here would definitely be uncomfortable."
"Yes..."
"Boy, I see that marsh outside is vast and open. I should be able to swim freely in the lake, shouldn’t I?"
"The Yunmeng Marsh is entirely under the jurisdiction of Tai Su. As you are the Master’s spirit beast, Martial Uncle, you naturally can. However, many of the Spirit Islands and Immortal Mountains in the lake have experts who have established residences there. You’ll need to be a little careful, Martial Uncle..."
Li Changfeng led Lieyun all over Chongyun. One spot had water that was too shallow, another didn’t have enough Spiritual Qi. After going in circles, they had nearly reached the summit before Lieyun found a Celestial Pool not far from Xuzhuang’s residence that it deemed barely acceptable.
Finally settling this "Martial Uncle" in, Li Changfeng let out a breath of relief. Seeing that the peak was not far, he delayed no further and headed for his master’s residence.
As soon as he reached the entrance, the doors swung open on their own. Li Changfeng knew his master was still waiting for him and hurried inside. Upon entering the main hall, he saw his master sitting on a folding chair, holding a Jade Talisman that flickered with a Five-Colored Spiritual Light.
Li Changfeng didn’t linger on the sight. He quickly walked over to Xuzhuang and said respectfully, "Master, your disciple has arrived."
"Mm," Xuzhuang acknowledged without stopping what he was doing with his hands. "Changfeng," he said lightly, "how long has it been since you entered my tutelage as a Registered Disciple?"
Li Changfeng’s heart stirred, and a hint of joy appeared in his eyes. "Reporting to Master, it has been seventeen years."
Xuzhuang continued, "In these seventeen years, I have not offered you much guidance, nor have you gained many benefits because of my status. Do you hold any resentment?"
Without a moment’s hesitation, Li Changfeng’s gaze was firm as he replied, "I do not, Master."
"Good." Xuzhuang nodded. "Today, I will formally accept you as my disciple. Are you willing?"
"I am willing, Master." Joy finally broke through on Li Changfeng’s face. He immediately knelt before Xuzhuang and performed the three kneelings and nine kowtows. This time, Xuzhuang did not stop him. Only after the ceremony was complete did he stop what he was doing with his hands and say lightly, "I won’t repeat the old platitudes about abiding by the sect rules; you already know them well."
"Now that you have successfully refined your techniques and formally entered my tutelage, I intend to pass on a Superior Dao Skill to you. The sect has three great True Inheritances and five great Branch Inheritances, all of which lead to the Primordial Spirit Realm. Which one do you wish to learn?"
Without a moment’s hesitation, Li Changfeng replied, "My heart is set on the Sword Dao. I ask Master to bestow upon me the *Tai Su Sword Qi of Form and Formlessness*."
This answer did not surprise Xuzhuang in the least. He nodded, took a jade slip he had prepared from his sleeve, and said, "In that case, I will pass on the *Tai Su Sword Qi of Form and Formlessness* to you. This jade slip contains the Dao Skill up to the Golden Core Realm, as well as my own cultivation experiences. I hope you will stay true to yourself and cultivate diligently, so that one day you may form a Top-grade Golden Core and be ranked among the true inheritors."
"Thank you, Master." Li Changfeng kowtowed once more, raising his hands above his head to receive the jade slip from Xuzhuang.
Xuzhuang then placed the Jade Talisman he was holding into Li Changfeng’s hands. "I expect you will soon resume your travels. This Jade Talisman is imbued with my Five Elements Escape Skill. Once activated, it can last for two hours and will carry you thousands of miles away without issue. I hope it can protect you in a moment of crisis."
"Yes. Thank you, Master." Li Changfeng’s voice was choked with emotion. He took the items and was about to kowtow again, but Xuzhuang used his Magical Power to lift him to his feet. Waving a hand, he said, "Go on, now. Cultivate well."
Li Changfeng was about to say more, but with a wave of his sleeve, Xuzhuang vanished. Feeling a bit wistful, Li Changfeng bowed deeply to the empty space where his master had been before turning and leaving the residence.
...
Xuzhuang had already returned to his meditation chamber, where he sat cross-legged on a meditation cushion atop his jade bed.
His trip to the East Sea had damaged his sword pellet and left the power of his Core diminished. More than that, it had made Xuzhuang realize that the time since he had formed his Golden Core was still too short. His cultivation base was not yet perfected, and he had only mastered a few Dao skills.
Though he had relied on the Divine Techniques of his Tai Su True Inheritance Dao Skill to defeat several true dragons and jiao-dragons at once, he knew he would likely be outmatched if he were to face a true genius from a major sect—one whose cultivation was perfected and who possessed an endless arsenal of techniques.
This was why, ever since returning from the East Sea, Xuzhuang had felt a sense of urgency. It was what had driven him to go to Dongzhen Hall to request entry into the Flowing Water Grotto Heaven for his cultivation.
There was still at least a year to wait for news of an opening in the Flowing Water Grotto Heaven. Xuzhuang had no desire to waste this time and prepared to do some light cultivation.
Xuzhuang was about to take the Sixth-Transformation Golden Core from his sleeve when a thought occurred to him. He instead took out a Glazed Vase. ’When the time comes to enter the Flowing Water Grotto Heaven to cultivate, I might have to rely on this thing,’ he mused. ’I might as well test its effects now.’
This was one of the treasures Xuzhuang had obtained in the East Sea. He had already studied it back in Pengxuan Pavilion. It could barely be considered a Pot of Heaven Treasure and contained seven or eight Spirit Veins. Although they were only ordinary Spirit Veins, their value was still considerable. And, as Xuzhuang suspected, this Pot of Heaven Treasure had another function.
Xuzhuang tossed the Glazed Pot upward, exhaling a puff of white qi that carried it floating up to the ceiling of the grotto. Then, with a slight surge of Magical Power, the Glazed Pot began to glow. Just as he’d expected, a stream of syrupy Spiritual Truth poured out from its spout.
"Just as I thought. This thing can refine ordinary Spiritual Qi into Spiritual Truth. No wonder it was filled with so many Spirit Veins." Xuzhuang laughed. "What a treasure. I don’t know its original name, so I’ll just call it the Truth Condensing Pot."
Xuzhuang left the Truth Condensing Pot hanging from the ceiling and took out another item: the small, silver-white sword.
This small, silver-white sword also had a story. He didn’t know which great expert had forged it, but its name was recorded on a Daoist Talisman within its seals.
The treasure was named the Great Destruction Geng Gold Sword. Contrary to Xuzhuang’s expectations, it was not a Flying Sword but a type of secret treasure. It needed to absorb a large amount of Geng Metal Qi, refined by Magical Power, to increase its might.
The more Geng Metal Qi the Great Destruction Geng Gold Sword absorbed, the more tyrannical its power became. Xuzhuang had purchased some Geng Metal back at Pengxuan Pavilion to test it, and its might had indeed been extraordinary.
Unfortunately, once the sword was used, its Geng Metal Qi would be rapidly consumed. It could only serve as an emergency measure, not as a regularly used Flying Sword.
Xuzhuang had specifically gone to the Ministry of Affairs Hall to trade for the Western Dage True Gold precisely to refine this item. Without further hesitation, he took the Western Dage True Gold from his robes, opened the container, and removed it from the True Water, exposing it to the air.
Instantly, an incomparably sharp Geng Metal Essence Qi, like Sword Qi, burst forth, seeming to want to shred everything in its vicinity. Xuzhuang’s expression remained unchanged as he summoned his boundless Magical Power, enveloping the Western Dage True Gold and instantly suppressing its sharp edge.
