Chapter 79: Chapter 79 BOOK FIVE: HIS DANCING QUEEN.

Down-on-her-luck Felicity Hopkins has hit a dead end. Her parents pass away before she barely crosses eighteen, leaving behind for her a mountain of debt that enslaves her to a sleazy ‘gentlemen’s club’ owner, Dante. He’s ruthless, and insists she strips and dances everyday to pay up her debt. Felicity is pained, and with each new day, she feels a vital piece of herself slip away.

Add in a notorious crime boss, Roman Reigns, who arrives at the club, offering to buy her, and she thinks her life is officially over.

Roman is vicious. Terrifying, and will stop at nothing until he gets what he wants. At least that’s what the tabloids always say about him. He’s got a reputation that precedes him.

So why is he furious with Dante?

Why does he look at her like she’s his possession? His to protect? To guard? To fight for?

Why?

1: Roman.

Words will never be enough to describe the exact way she came into my life.

She was an angel. One like no other, sent from above, after my intense prayers, to save a devil like me.

I couldn’t take my eyes off her the very first moment I saw her. I was transfixed. I was never transfixed. I never stared.

But I did. I stared at her. Long, deep, and I felt a rush in me like never before.

I’d been going solo, into the outside world, ignoring the advice of my men who didn’t like the idea of me going out alone, without protection. I was a high-ranking, no-nonsense billionaire mogul, you see. I had to be guarded at all times. There were so many snakes out there, but you see, a man needs a breath of fresh air sometimes. Just him. Alone.

So on this particular, lovely night, I was making my way down West Dale Campus, drenched in the still shadows of the large trees that speckled the quad.

And that’s when I saw her.

My angel.

She was sitting alone — lounging comfortably on the National museum stairs like a Greek Goddess — like a statue that belonged inside on display, wrapped in a dress that clung to her soft, yet firm curves with absolute perfection.

She was the prettiest, sexiest girl I’d ever laid my eyes on. Instantly, I felt something stir inside me. Something animal. Something predatory.

A soft black mass of curls fell across her lean, delicate shoulders and collarbones like hills rolling in underneath the setting sun. A nearby lamppost illuminated her beautiful shape, and my eyes were drawn particularly to the mouth-watering curves of her plump breasts, to her thin waist and down to her wide, feminine hips.

Baby-making hips, I dare say.

I was a dangerous man, and I was used to getting what I wanted. So when I saw her, I knew I had to have her.

No matter what. Against all odds.

She was little red riding hood. I was the big, big bad wolfie.

I was a cold-blooded killer. I’d killed people, roughed them up, intimidated people, and done other nefarious things to get ahead. I shot my middle finger up at the law a long time ago, and made bastard money off it — bastard money I tell you, and I had no intention of ever stopping. Ever.

Roman Reigns working his ass off at a construction site or operating behind a desk twenty-four seven for a measly pay? No fucking way. Thank you very much.

I couldn’t even imagine myself doing that. I loved expensive meals, expensive clothes, and I couldn’t bring myself to live in any house that wasn’t tastefully luxurious. I loved blowing through Chill Manhattan, my city, and watching all the other suckers working for the man, praying that one day they would somehow get ahead, as well as get a wife who would adore and treat them with respect they didn’t deserve.

Women threw themselves at me. It never went the other way. And if you watched TV and gangster movies, you might assume that I had a new girl over every night — but you couldn’t be more wrong.

I was careful about who I let into my inner circle. Trust and loyalty meant everything in my game. And beyond that, I was even stricter about who I let into my heart. I didn’t have any interest for "something casual" or "an arrangement."

I wanted something more.

And when I stared at her, the undeniable beauty before me, I felt my whole world change.

I moved toward her like a heat-seeking missile, my eyes never wavering from her body. She seemed lost in thought, probably thinking about school or her exams or something, knowing nothing of the dangerous world I came from.

A leaf crumpled under my foot and she looked up at me. Our eyes met and mine said it all. She understood instantly what I wanted.

Her cheeks flushed red like sweet cherry sorbetto, but instead of looking away, she held my gaze. It was the first time in a long time I’d met someone’s eyes and they hadn’t been immediately intimidated by me.

Everyone knew who I was.

Everyone but her, apparently.

I stopped at the foot of the steps and stared. As a man who saw what he wanted and went for it, it took every ounce of strength I had not to just lean in, press my body against hers, and press my mouth against her plump, inviting, delicious red lips.

"Can I help you?" she asked.

Her tone was almost sassy, as though I was intruding on her.

This girl really didn’t know who I was. And I loved that. No preconceptions. No assumptions.

Just the two of us.

"I’m sure you could," I replied.

The sheer fabric of her dress hid nothing. She was wearing no bra and her nipples were hard...just like my arousal steadily growing beneath my pants.

I was a man who had everything, but right then, all I wanted was her.

“Are you a student here?" I asked.

“I’m on a college campus, aren’t I?” she quipped back.

Under different circumstances, this kind of sarcasm wouldn’t sit well with me. But with her, it excited me even more. A girl who didn’t know who I was who actually had a real personality?

Hell yes.

“So am I," I replied. “But I’m not a professor."

"Oh no?"

I moved right in and stood above her. “But I wouldn’t mind teaching you a few things."

"Give me a break," she scoffed, pretending like she was put off by my line, but I knew better. It was a warm night and her nipples were hard and her lips were wet...

...both pairs, most likely.

“What’s my name?” I asked her.

“Why? You wanna take me out?"

Her eyes were fierce, filled with energy. There was a story behind them too. I was instantly intrigued.

This girl had secrets, and I wanted to know them all.

I quickly sat down beside her on the steps, my eyes drawn to the milky white skin of her legs.

The slit up the side of her dress exposed the soft flesh of her thigh like the dress Angelina Jolie wore to the Oscars that caused so much talk among the media.

My leg brushed up against hers and my bulge pulsed strong between my thighs. My blood.boiled in my veins as my heart pumped like a heavy drum. I was on fire for her. Instead of pulling away, she pushed back against me.

Her body was warm, hot like my desire for her. I tried to keep my growl quiet as I reached out and put a hand on her knee.

"Tell me your name," I told her.

“You tell me yours," she countered.

Don’t. You’ll scare her off.

"It’s only fair," she continued.

"A big, strong, strange man approaching me after dark asking me what my name is — "

"It’s Rhimes," I told her. A white lie. Lesley was my middle name.

"Rhimes, eh?" she smiled, causing my bulge to double in size. “Not what I expected."

“What did you expect?” I asked.

"Something more manly more befitting of your appearance," she replied, raising her eyebrows.

"And what is my appearance?" I asked.

She was driving me crazy. It was like a game we were playing — a tennis match going back and forth. Her intrigue and sexuality had me starving for her, lusting in a way I’d never known possible, and I felt myself starting to lose control.

"Tough guy," she replied as she continued to examine me.

"Scary?" I asked. She eyed me up and down, then shrugged like she wasn’t afraid.

"Maybe."

"Like I might want to kidnap you?" I suggested.

I did.

"You could try," she replied.

"But I know Taekwondo."

"Oh, yeah?" I grinned. "I love the kind of woman who can kick my ass."

"Try me then, mister" she started to say, but I didn’t let her finish.

I couldn’t take it anymore.

I moved right in with a speed I’d never known. This girl had hit me like a meteor going at the speed of light and knocked me completely out of my standard orbit.

She didn’t pull away. In fact, her flawless lips parted as if inviting me in, and I pressed mine against hers.

Holy shit.

My arousal swelled to full mast, threatening to pop the buttons off my jeans as she kissed me back, her tongue probing hungrily into my mouth.

Everything inside of me shifted. I groaned and slid an arm around her back, felt her slim shoulder blades, and wrapped my fingers around her neck and into her hair. I felt like a horny kid again as we made out on the museum steps. She moaned back against my mouth and I ran my other hand up her leg and grabbed her succulent thigh.

My dick was begging to get out. I would have taken her right then and there with an entire group of touring prospective students walking by and not giving a single fuck. I slid my leg between hers and she parted them freely. My heartbeat strummed in my chest like a drum and I kissed her like I wanted to devour her whole.

This isn’t me, I thought.

In my line of business, you couldn’t afford to give into your emotions. I was a man of control, self-restraint, a man who never lost his cool...

...until now.

I was on fire for her and I didn’t even know her name (and she didn’t know mine...not really, anyway). My whole world began to orbit around her like she was the sun and I was nothing more than a tiny rock floating in space.

I wanted to claim her, make her mine, show her off to the entire world, but also make sure no one else ever had her or even got a glimpse of what I got to see.

I was on fire.

But suddenly, all of that was over.

She pulled away and clasped a hand over her mouth like I’d just said something terrible. Her lips glistened and her eyes sparkled beneath the lamplight and she quickly shook her head as she got to her feet.

"I-I have to go!"

"No you don’t," I said quickly, reaching out to her. But she pulled away.

"Yes I do," she replied. “I’m sorry..."

"Wait!" I called after her as she turned and ran, “At least tell me your name!"

But she was gone, her long dress trailing behind her like something out of a movie as she disappeared into the shadows of the trees.

I walked quickly after her, but she had a head start on me and I didn’t want to chase her down like some kind of creepy predator. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

She reached one of the dorms, scanned her card, and vanished through the door, leaving me standing there alone, my mind reeling and my body aching for the full meal that I’d only just had a taste of. freёwebnovel.com

She’d lit up my life like a solar flare and vanished like a ghost.

But she was my angel, and I didn’t even know her name.

I didn’t care how long it took or how hard I had to look, but I would find her again. And this time, she wouldn’t get away.
