Chapter 908: Chapter 908: There’s Really Nothing Wrong With Calling You Uncle

"When you were of age, I was only 8 years old, in the second grade of elementary school," Li Xiaoyun said, "When you graduated college, I had just started middle school."

"Looking at us now, we seem to be of the same generation. But if you think back to when I was in elementary or middle school, calling you ’uncle’ really wouldn’t have been weird at all." Li Xiaoyun finished, feeling quite justified.

She turned her head joyfully to seek validation: "Don’t you think so?"

Zhao Dingli: "..."

Zhao Dingli’s feelings were really too complicated now.

He had to admit, Li Xiaoyun’s words truly were reasonable.

If you really think back to when Li Xiaoyun was young, calling him ’uncle’ would have been perfectly normal.

This alone was enough to make Zhao Dingli feel vexed.

He originally thought he wasn’t of the ’uncle’ generation.

But now it turns out he really is!

Yet, Li Xiaoyun gradually stopped using formal titles.

No more ’you’ with respect.

Instead, it’s just calling him directly.

Doesn’t that mean she’s acknowledged they’re of the same generation?

This made Zhao Dingli somewhat pleased again.

With such mixed emotions of frustration and happiness, in just this short journey, it happened twice already.

Really didn’t know what to say.

"What you said makes some sense," Zhao Dingli had to admit.

Being acknowledged, Li Xiaoyun felt very satisfied.

Then Zhao Dingli continued: "But back then we didn’t know each other, so you never had the chance to call me ’uncle’."

"We’re only meeting now, so now you can’t call me ’uncle’ either." Finally, Zhao Dingli felt a bit content.

Li Xiaoyun thought, actually, it could still be possible.

She could follow Ye Fei’s lead and call him ’uncle’; it would be perfectly fine.

But of course, Li Xiaoyun sensed Zhao Dingli didn’t want to be called ’uncle.’

And indeed, he was still quite young.

Besides, with no real connection between them, calling him ’uncle’ and suddenly getting closer really would be a bit shameless.

So, Li Xiaoyun nodded: "Let’s just be ourselves. I won’t follow Ye Fei’s generational title."

Zhao Dingli finally showed a relieved smile: "That’s right."

Following the navigation instructions, Zhao Dingli drove the car to the entrance of Li Xiaoyun’s residential area.

The house was bought by Li Xiaoyun.

She used work as an excuse to move out early.

Her family home was spacious enough; she was an only child, and their house was three bedrooms and two living rooms, which was notably large in City B—very roomy.

But as she got older, her mother constantly tried to introduce boyfriends to her.

Urging her to go on blind dates, and endlessly nagging at home.

Whenever Li Xiaoyun went on a blind date and wasn’t interested, her mother would complain that her standards were too high.

Always advising her to give people a chance; instant love at first sight is hard to come by.

While interacting, feelings might develop.

Yet, she never managed to develop any feelings, even unwilling to meet them again no matter what was said.

Her mother would then incessantly nag her to get married quickly.

Stop dreaming about love, just marry someone suitable when you meet them.

Does she really want to be single for life?

Nagging her that her age was almost up.

As she approached 30, finding someone continuously got harder.

Because of this, Li Xiaoyun often argued with her mother.

Eventually, when she couldn’t stand it anymore, she moved out on her own.

Bought a loft apartment in this residential area.

The apartment wasn’t big, only 50 square meters total.

But because it’s split into two floors, the overall usable space was still quite sufficient.

There was an independent living room, kitchen.

The bedroom was on the second floor, and she managed to carve out a walk-in closet.

There were two bathrooms, one on each floor.

The one upstairs had a shower, while the one downstairs was just a standalone toilet.

In City B, housing prices were high. Even if she could afford a larger place, it would be somewhat exhausting.

Plus, living alone in a bigger place wouldn’t be all that useful.

So she paid a down payment and bought this loft apartment for herself.

More comfortable than renting.

At least she had her own little nest now, without having to move every now and then.

If she gets married later, she would buy a bigger house with her husband.

If she remains single, then living here would be enough.
