Chapter 280: Chapter 52: Is This a Fellow Daoist’s Bird?
He had not failed in his task. Hiding among the Spiritual Birds raised by the Rakshasa Sect, his excellent performance earned him an assignment at the Young Master’s Hall, pulling the carriage for Young Master Rakshasa.
Seeing him speak human words from a bird’s body, his speech refined and formal, Hua Yutang couldn’t help but smile. "Daoist Brother Cang, could you please tell us what this Wilderness Domain is?"
Upon hearing this, Cang Wuya tucked his wings behind his back and said coolly, "If I’m not mistaken, you two are from the East Cyan Domain, correct?"
Fang Cheng and Hua Yutang exchanged a startled look.
The Yun Country and the Jin Country were both located in the East Cyan Domain. As for how vast this domain truly was, not even the successive generations of Life Soul Realm Elders from the Yinluo Sect had managed to traverse it all.
When Sun Fuguo traveled the world back in the day, he had only journeyed through five or six countries within the East Cyan Domain.
The successive Elders of the Yinluo Sect had compiled their observations from their travels, and after removing the overlapping accounts, the result was the very jade slip Fang Cheng received when he was promoted to a True Disciple.
A Record of the Lands, Mountains, and Rivers.
Cang Wuya observed their expressions, seemingly pleased with their reaction. He then said, "This realm has been known as the Red Profound Realm since time immemorial. The World Heaven is immeasurably vast and was divided into seven domains by Ancient Cultivators based on natural geographical barriers. The chasm between the East Cyan Domain and the Mingxiao Domain is a colossal spatial rift. Within it rage countless spatial turbulences. Any cultivator below the Life Soul Realm who enters faces almost certain death."
"This spatial rift has been expanding for ages, and a vast land has formed within it—the Wilderness Domain. Ten thousand years ago, a Human Race Cultivator survived a spatial storm and stumbled upon this place. He set up a grand teleportation array, which gradually led to the development of this land and the rise of its major powers."
"Today, cultivators from both the East Cyan and Mingxiao Domains travel here via teleportation arrays. However, all these arrays are controlled by the top-tier sects and prominent families of the two domains."
"After ten thousand years of development, the sects and families from the two domains established estates and outer branches here, all of which gradually grew in power. Some have even abandoned their ancestral lands in their home domains and relocated here entirely."
Hearing this, Fang Cheng and Hua Yutang were overcome with a tumultuous mix of shock, awe, and other complex emotions.
’To think the teleportation array beneath the Hanhai Desert connected to a place like this.’
After spending so long cultivating in the Abyssal Marsh, they were only now beginning to comprehend the true, boundless expanse of the world.
According to Cang Wuya, the Wilderness Domain was divided into the Eastern Wilderness and the Western Wilderness. The Eastern Wilderness was closer to the East Cyan Domain, while the Western Wilderness was closer to the Mingxiao Domain.
In the Eastern Wilderness, there were thirteen major powers.
The ten great sects and the Three Great Demon Race Sacred Lands were the true masters of the Eastern Wilderness.
All other sects and families in the Eastern Wilderness, large or small, had to live at their mercy.
The Rakshasa Sect and the Celestial Talisman Sect were both counted among these ten great sects.
These two major sects were originally outer estates and branch lineages of ancient sects from the East Cyan Domain. But now, back in the East Cyan Domain, the main sects had long since vanished into the river of history, while these outer branches, conversely, had survived to the present day.
At this, the questions in Fang Cheng and Hua Yutang’s minds were finally answered.
The teleportation array within the ancient ruins beneath the Hanhai Desert in the Yun Country was likely left behind by one of those sects or families. Perhaps their legacy continued to thrive on this land even now.
Fang Cheng then asked, "Daoist Brother Cang, you mentioned you know where Geng Metal Profound Silkworm Threads are sold. Where might that be?"
Cang Wuya replied, "At the Celestial Traveling Immortal Pavilion, of course. It’s the largest market in the Eastern Wilderness, with every kind of treasure imaginable. That piece of Outer Realm Cold Iron you acquired, Daoist Brother, you could sell it there too if you have no use for it."
Hua Yutang asked curiously, "From the name of this pavilion, it sounds like it isn’t on the ground."
The Cyan Bird pointed its right wing toward the sky. "This pavilion flies in the skies above the Eastern Wilderness year-round. It circles the entire Eastern Wilderness once every twelve years. If we travel another three thousand miles forward, we’ll be right in its path."
Fang Cheng sent a private voice transmission to Hua Yutang. "Senior Sister, let’s make a trip to this Celestial Traveling Immortal Pavilion. Afterward, we can return to Great Black Mountain first. It won’t be too late to explore this place at our leisure later on."
Hua Yutang knew Fang Cheng wanted to buy the Geng Metal Profound Silkworm Threads to refine his Immortal Binding Rope, so she nodded in agreement.
The two of them and the bird then flew eastward once more.
...
High in the firmament, endless clouds cascaded like a waterfall. The sea of clouds churned, roiling up and down like something out of an Immortal Realm.
A magnificent, towering ship appeared above the sea of clouds.
The ship was hundreds of yards long and wide. Atop it sat a grand and spectacular hall that emitted a brilliant celestial light, making it seem both real and illusory.
The great ship sailed slowly across the sea of clouds, kicking up enormous waves of vapor and crashing through towering Cloud Mountains.
In the distance, a Flying Celestial Chariot approached the towering ship. A man and a woman alighted from it.
The man was tall and handsome, dressed in wide-sleeved robes, with an air of extraordinary elegance. The woman was dignified and stunningly beautiful, with bright eyes and pearly teeth. Every glance from her was captivating, and she possessed the rich allure of a mature young woman.
A large cyan bird, about a foot tall, stood on the man’s shoulder. Its gaze was sharp, and it looked remarkably spirited.
The pair was none other than Fang Cheng and Hua Yutang. They put away their Flying Celestial Chariot and, side-by-side, descended from their streaks of Escape Light to land upon the floating ship.
In front of the great hall on the ship, eight armored cultivators stood guard. The two at their head were, astonishingly, at the Life Talisman Cultivation level.
When the eight guards saw Fang Cheng and Hua Yutang, they noted their extraordinary auras and profound cultivation, and their expressions all became respectful.
The lead cultivator clasped his hands and smiled. "Welcome, fellow Daoists, to the Celestial Traveling Immortal Pavilion. To enter, please first pay a fee of ten Lower-Grade Spirit Stones."
With a calm expression, Fang Cheng casually took out twenty Spirit Stones and handed them over.
The man accepted the Spirit Stones and signaled the other guards to open the hall doors. He then said, "May your visit be fruitful."
Within the grand hall, a radiant, cloud-like light filled the air, so bright it was dazzling. Splendor bloomed from the void, and waves of spatial fluctuations emanated from within.
Upon seeing this, Fang Cheng realized that this grand hall was also a Pocket World Spiritual Building!
