Chapter 276: Chapter 51: Halting the Chariot on a Rainy Mountain Night

The vast, wild land grew dim as dusk fell.

Fang Cheng and Hua Yutang found a mountaintop, landed their Escape Lights, and prepared to rest there for the night.

Hua Yutang’s Flying Celestial Chariot was a Second-Order Magical Artifact with a surprisingly spacious interior. She had furnished it with a magnificent soft couch and other fineries, making it suitable not only for travel but also as a comfortable place to rest.

The magnificent canopy on top was raised, and curtains hung low on all sides. A brilliantly shining Treasure Bead was suspended from the ceiling, illuminating the interior as bright as day.

Hua Yutang took out two jugs of Spirit Wine and a few boxes of fruits and snacks to go with it. They drank and chatted leisurely about the place.

They both felt this place was filled with a primordial, untamed aura. The Spiritual Qi was erratic—sometimes dense, sometimes thin. The plants, mountains, and Demon Beasts were all much larger than those in the Yun Country, and Spiritual Objects were far more numerous.

No wonder Hua Yutang had said that if Sun Fuguo learned of this place, he would undoubtedly mobilize the entire Yinluo Sect to exploit it.

However, faced with a choice between the sect’s interests and her own, Hua Yutang’s decision was understandable.

She was single-mindedly focused on breaking through to the Mid-Life Talisman Stage, and this treasure-filled land might just hold the precious items she needed.

If she handed the Teleportation Array over to the sect, she could exchange it for a good deal of contribution points and treasures, but she feared the truly valuable items would likely never reach her.

After all, she was only a True Disciple. On Yinluo Island, there were countless others with higher cultivation and status than her.

Just then, a thick fog suddenly rolled in on the mountain, and the wind began to blow.

Soon, the wind grew stronger, making the forest roar like a surging tide. In the dim yellow twilight, one could faintly see thick clouds from all directions galloping like horses, gathering toward the Celestial Center.

In an instant, the bright moon vanished, the world outside plunged into pitch-black darkness, and a torrential rain began to fall.

The two sat in the chariot drinking wine, listening to the sound of the wind and rain outside, which had a certain charm.

They didn’t know how far this place was from the Yinluo Sect—it could be a million li, or it could be a hundred million li away.

In the untamed Wilderness, with rain falling on the mountain at night, a man and a woman were alone in a chariot. After a few jugs of Spirit Wine, both were feeling a little drunk.

Their eyes met, and a hint of intimacy filled the air.

Beneath the night sky.

The magnificent chariot, enveloped in a halo of Restriction Spiritual Light, rested quietly on the mountain.

The rain fell like a waterfall, ceaseless and unending.

「Two hours later.」

Suddenly, the wind died down and the rain stopped. The floating clouds dispersed, the thick fog vanished, and a half-moon once again hung high in the azure sky, its clear light shining brilliantly, washing the mountain forests clean and moist.

After the rain on the empty mountain, streams flowed everywhere. The gurgling of water from cracks in the rocks and the chirping of insects in the deep grass blended together, making the night feel exceptionally serene and secluded.

The sound of a man and a woman talking came from the chariot, interspersed with the man’s hearty laughter and the woman’s playful admonishments.

Suddenly, a world-shaking, earth-shattering BOOM echoed from the heavens above.

The two inside the chariot immediately fell silent.

The curtains were thrown open. Fang Cheng casually draped an outer robe over his shoulders, strode out, and looked up at the sky.

Next to the bright, clear moon, he saw a vast, white mass. It was emitting thunderous rumbles as it streaked through the sky, hurtling toward them.

A moment later, Hua Yutang, having finished dressing, also emerged from the chariot. "What is that?" she asked in astonishment.

Fang Cheng’s expression was grave. "I’m not sure," he said, shaking his head. "We should be careful."

He had two Third-tier Magical Artifacts and two Late-Life Soul Stage Dream Spirits in his possession. He reckoned he had enough to handle most problems, so he remained relatively composed.

The blush had not yet faded from Hua Yutang’s fair cheeks, and her eyes still held a flirtatious charm. "It’s probably not coming for us," she said upon hearing his words.

The two watched with focused attention as the white light boomed across the sky, passed over their heads, and then brutally smashed into a mountain peak more than ten li away.

BOOM!!

The earth trembled. The mountain peak was violently sheared in half, sending up a thousand-zhang plume of dust and smoke that billowed into the air.

Fang Cheng saw it clearly. Within the white light was, shockingly, a piece of lustrous white profound iron the size of a small mountain, radiating an astonishing chill as it fell from the sky.

"A strange treasure falling from the sky... Could it be Outer Realm Profound Iron?"

He and Hua Yutang exchanged a look, both feeling a sense of disbelief.

They had actually stumbled upon something out of legends.

The two summoned their Escape Lights and flew toward the other side of the mountain. There, they saw a massive crater several li in radius. In the center of the crater, a colossal piece of profound iron glowed with white light, exceptionally eye-catching under the moonlight.

Fang Cheng and Hua Yutang landed and approached the profound iron. They saw that it was over ten zhang high, irregularly shaped, and covered in impact craters.

In Fang Cheng’s previous life, a piece of metal this size would have been comparable to a thirty-story skyscraper.

The profound iron emitted a staggering chill, causing countless flakes of frost and snow to form in the surrounding air and drift down.

"What a treasure! A piece of Outer Realm Profound Iron this large could be used to refine countless Magical Artifacts and Flying Swords." Hua Yutang’s beautiful eyes lit up, and her face beamed with joy.

Before her words had even faded, a monster suddenly shot out from behind the profound iron and charged at Hua Yutang.

This monster had nine vicious, savage snake heads. Its entire body was covered in feathers that seemed to be condensed from lightning, and it radiated a ferocious, tyrannical aura as it tried to devour Hua Yutang.

A flash of shock crossed Hua Yutang’s dignified and beautiful face. "An Outer Celestial Demon!"

A beam of sword light silently materialized before her and slashed toward the Celestial Demon.

BOOM!

The Celestial Demon also unleashed a blast of Ice Thunder, which instantly struck the beam of sword light.

Wherever the Ice Thunder passed, bolts of electricity crackled and frost drifted down, thick with a sinister demonic aura.

Hua Yutang’s sword light was immediately blocked.

But Hua Yutang was no ordinary person. With a sharp cry, she flicked her long sleeves, and another piercing beam of sword light shot out, aiming straight for the Celestial Demon’s snake heads.

Just as Fang Cheng was about to help, he saw more than ten additional Nine-headed Celestial Demons leap from the cold iron, attacking them both.

’This must be Outer Realm Profound Iron, without a doubt. Nothing else would bring so many Celestial Demons to the Lower Realm...’
