Chapter 100: 100 | True Happiness
"Umm...my name is Raveena Singh. Who are you brother?" She spoke, looking at her father for explanation but her father was nowhere to be seen.
"Well, you are calling me brother then asking me who I am?" Reyansh pushed the question back to her.
"Is that car yours?" She didn’t replied instead pivoted to something else.
"Yes, do you like it?"
"Of course, it’s one of the best car." She responded and moved towards the car.
But before she could put her hands on the car, a feminine voice interrupted her.
"Raveena come here," a woman in her late thirties came out along with Amit.
"Sir, this is my wife, Jyoti Singh," Amit introduced, "He is Reyansh Kaul, my employer."
"Welcome to our home, sir," she spoke and was about to fold her hands to greet Reyansh.
"No...no, please don’t, you don’t have to fold your hands in front of me. You are much older in age than me. If my mother ever heard about this, I will get a beating," Reyansh stopped her before she could fold her hands completely.
"Please, come in, sir," Amit gestured, "Raveena, you come too."
Reyansh followed behind then while Raveena begrudgingly stepped inside, glancing at the car.
Reyansh sensed Jyoti’s mana core to be at Rank-D. ’Had she stopped cultivating entirely? But then mana core price rises exponentially with rank, I can guess why she decided to stop.’
Amit signaled for Reyansh to sit on a wooden chair.
"If I had known that would be coming, I would have..." before Amit could complete Reyansh interrupted.
"No need for such formalities, it’s not like you haven’t seen my house. This chair is comfortable." Reyansh stated as sat on the chair, it squeaked as he sat.
Just then Jyoti came out of the kitchen with a plate full of snacks and a glass of water and put it on a small worn out table in front of him.
"Please have some snacks," She requested.
"Thank you, I haven’t eaten anything since morning," Reyansh nodded and took few bites of biscuits and namkeen.
"So, Raveena when is your awakening?" Reyansh asked as he ate the snacks.
"I would be turning twelve in three month," she answered.
"Do you want to become a hunter too?"
Raveena looked at her parents, like asking for a response. Amit just nodded his head positively.
"Yes," she nodded her head.
"Well, all the best," he replied.
"Thanks for the snacks, big sis," Reyansh said as he gobbled up all the snacks.
"You are embarrassing me by giving so much respect to a woman like me," Jyoti voiced her thoughts.
"How can truth be embarrassing? Now, Amit told me you do household work," Reyansh shot back.
"Yes, I find it much safer for myself and my family," Jyoti replied.
"So, what do you think to maintaining my house from tomorrow along with handling sales of monster’s bodies," Reyansh shared his reason for coming.
For few seconds there was complete silence in the house, Amit who knew about this, was only smiling. Jyoti had a bewildered look on her face, this was first time someone had come to her and pitched a job to her.
Meanwhile, Raveena was thinking just who is this young man. All the rich people she had ever known, always looked down on them especially after the Merge.
However, he just lovingly ate snacks her mother gave and even thanked her, calling her big sis.
After silence of few seconds, Reyansh spoke, "What happened? Is the job not enticing enough? We have yet to discuss the pay."
"No...no, sorry, I was just thinking, he had mentioned to me yesterday about you," Jyoti responded hurriedly signaling towards Amit, "Your generosity and behavior, especially in times like these."
"I am sure he hasn’t told you everything about me," Reyansh responded, "has he?" He looked at Amit.
Amit chuckled nervously, "No, not everything. That depends on you, sir," he answered.
"Look big sis, for me, honesty and loyalty is all that matters. Yesterday, Amit did his work diligently and kept his honesty."
"When we talked, I got to know about you and your daughter. So I decided to employ you today to look after my house." Reyansh explained.
"Yes, I would be happy to accept the job, sir," she responded.
"You don’t have to call me sir, after I called you big sis. You can call me Reyansh." He corrected.
"Wait a moment, while I ready the contracts," Reyansh spoke as he opened the system panel to bought a bunch of empty contracts and used two of them to layout the terms and other rules.
Meanwhile, Raveena looked at her father, "Papa, is he a strong hunter?" she whispered, though Reyansh could hear her clear as a day.
"He is," Amit responded.
"Do you his channel’s name?"
"Yes, but he will tell you himself when he wants too. I won’t."
She leaned in closer, almost in her father’s ears, she spoke, "Is he some kind of shady man?"
"Haha...no, he is fair and trustworthy," Amit smacked his daughter’s head, "You and your paranoia."
"Ouch, Papa! That hurts," Raveena rubbed the back of her head.
"Are you an idiot, Raveena? Calling someone who is giving us such a job with high pay, a shady man," Jyoti reprimanded.
"Okay...okay, got it," Raveena nodded her head in understanding.
Reyansh glanced at them, a small family talking and laughing amongst themselves without any worry.
’You are a lucky man, Amit. You have a family that you can share your smile with even after the apocalyptic merge,’ he thought.
He finalized the contracts and sent them to Amit and Jyoti in front of him.
"This much?" Jyoti exclaimed.
"What happened, mom?" Raveena asked.
"10,000 Cosmic Coins per month with 5% on sales profit made from selling monster’s bodies. This is too much, Si...Reyansh," Jyoti responded.
"Believe me, this is not much."
"Just how much rich you are brother?" Raveena asked, looking at him.
"Pretty rich," Reyansh replied with a smirk.
"Do you want to take a ride in the car outside?" he asked.
Raveena glanced at her parents, both were busy in reading the contract, she nodded positively.
"Why don’t you go and wait outside? I’ll be just there in a minute then we will go on joyride." Reyansh suggested.
Raveena followed his suggestion and quietly stepped outside.
Just as she left, Reyansh spoke, "Before you sign, you should know who you are working for. Amit knows this, but you don’t."
Reyansh took out the StarWalker’s Veil and wore it again.
Jyoti looked at the magnificent mask, looking ferocious and elegant at the same time. But then suddenly, her mind clicked.
"You...are...StarWalker," Jyoti finally identified the mask.
"So, you still want to work for me," he asked.
Jyoti looked at her husband like she wanted to ask what she was witnessing true or something else.
Amit nodded in response.
"If my husband trusts you than I guess I can too," Jyoti agreed.
"Excellent," Reyansh spoke as he put back the mask into inventory.
The next moment, the couple signed the contracts immediately.
Reyansh stood up as he completed his goal of coming here. "Come to my home tomorrow both of you, also pack all of your bags to because you’ll be living in the manor with us."
Amit and Jyoti followed behind as Reyansh exited their home.
Reyansh turned towards Amit and asked, "Give me the keys, you stay home."
"I can drive you, Sir." Amit insisted.
"I know you can, I just want to drive plus you guys have to pack too." Reyansh denied. Amit gave him a rectangle plaque, key of Aether Ride 3.0.
"Raveena," Jyoti called out.
"I am going on a joyride with brother," Raveena protested.
"You can go later, sweetheart. We have work to do," Jyoti insisted. freeωebnovēl.c૦m
Raveena bowed her head as she stepped away from the car.
"How about we make a deal? the next time we will go on a joyride for sure," Reyansh spoke.
"Promise?" Raveena asked.
"Promise," Reyansh guaranteed, Raveena agreed then stepped towards her house.
Reyansh entered the car, in driver seat this time. He put in plaque at it marked position, with a slight HUMM! The car started.
"To home then."
