Chapter 1665: Chapter 1666: Conversation with Xiang Jinnan (2)

She was stunned, not quite understanding the meaning of his words.

"I really don’t blame you at all. If you keep feeling guilty, I will feel very guilty, thinking the consequences I caused are something you have to bear."

"Moreover, I’m awake now, thanks to you and President Qin. Otherwise, I could have potentially stayed in a coma forever. At least now... I can attend your wedding in a wheelchair, right?"

"Or do you want to see me in a coma forever?"

"Of course not!" She quickly replied, knowing that Xiang Jinnan said so much just to prevent her from feeling overly guilty about the situation.

Xiang Jinnan smiled, "How long until the wedding?"

"The 22nd of this month."

"Shouldn’t you give me an invitation? I’m supposed to be discharged next week."

"That soon?" Feng Jinglei furrowed her brows tightly.

"Yes, there’s nothing seriously wrong with me physically." After a pause, he continued, "As for my leg, Doctor Li said there’s no need to stay in the hospital for treatment. Once I’m home, maybe one day I will stand up on my own will."

He smiled somewhat bitterly. Perhaps it’s just a comforting word from a doctor to a patient; he heard it but didn’t take it to heart.

From his mild tone, Feng Jinglei seemed to discern that he regarded Doctor Li’s words as just a comforting sentiment.

"Jinnan, you trust Li Yuan, his medical skills are really good."

"Yes, I know." Xiang Jinnan smiled, "You, are you free this afternoon?"

She was surprised for a moment, "Yes, I don’t need to go to work now, I’m at home every day."

"Then give me an invitation this afternoon?" These few days, although Feng Jinglei came to the hospital every day to see him, he hadn’t spoken a word to her due to his mood. To resolve the discord in her heart, it’s better to talk face-to-face.

"Alright." She agreed.

She has also been busy preparing for the wedding these days, and the invitation list was only completed yesterday.

In the afternoon, after lunch, Feng Jinglei took two invitations—one bearing his parents’ names and the other Xiang Jinnan’s.

Upon arriving at the hospital, Xiang Jinnan’s parents were sitting in the ward.

Knowing their son’s mood had improved a lot, the elder couple finally showed comforting smiles on their faces.

"Jinglei, you’re here."

Noticing a figure at the door, Xiang’s mother turned and saw Feng Jinglei standing there, hastily welcoming her with enthusiasm.

"Auntie."

On the hospital bed, Xiang Jinnan’s eyes followed his mother’s figure to the door of the ward. Seeing the familiar face he once favored, his heart still skipped a beat.

But he also knew she was no longer the woman he desired.

"You’re here." Looking at Feng Jinglei walking in, Xiang Jinnan had a gentle gaze, with the hint of a gentlemanly smile on his lips.

"How are you feeling?"

After the conversation on the phone, facing Xiang Jinnan again, Feng Jinglei felt more relieved than before.

Xiang Jinnan smiled, glancing at his parents, "Mom, Dad, you can go and rest first, come back later."

Seeing their son seemed to have something to say to Jinglei, Xiang’s father and mother did not hesitate, getting up to leave, "I’ll go make you something to eat, we’ll come back later."

Xiang Jinnan nodded, not saying more.

Suddenly, the ward was left with just the two of them.
