Chapter 134: Lessons with Ren

He’s right. Ren is here again.

By this time, everyone knew well that Ren was here to see me. With some reason or other, Ren would drop by to see me here.

“Crown prince, I don’t mean to be disrespectful but as you can see there are so many patients here that require our help and there are not enough doctors. So, unless you really need help, I would appreciate it if you would not turn up to the hospital every day like this...” I said, trying to sound serious but not too offensive.

Ren and I stood in the hospital hallway, and I could feel countless pairs of eyes on us.

“Royal doctors!” Ren called out quite loudly.

“Yes, crown prince,” the doctors said as they bowed simultaneously to Ren.

“My Lady is telling me that there are too many patients for talented men like yourselves to handle, is that true?” Ren asked, challengingly.

I hated how he chose his words to influence people’s responses like that.

“Not at all, Your Highness. We are capable of handling the patients. Please do not worry...” a doctor said before he bowed respectfully.

“See? Everything’s going well so you can continue spending time with me,” Ren said stubbornly.

“Ren, I didn’t come to study here to deal with your daily paper cuts. If you don’t let me deal with the other patients and complex cases, how am I supposed to learn anything new?” I asked, trying to make my point.

“...I know that...but still...you’ve been so busy that we haven’t had time together at all. You’re always at the hospital, morning to night without break...” Ren said and there was clear displeasure in his voice.

“I just had dinner with you yesterday...” I replied.

And...I spent the night with you too...and...we also did it twice...

Seriously, what more does Ren want?

“Can you spare me some time tomorrow?” Ren asked.

I hated when he looked at me pleadingly like that. It was just so unfair...

“What do you want to do?” I asked, a little curious.

“I’m free. So how about I teach you how to ride?” Ren suggested.

“Ride a horse?” I said as I tried to process his offer.

“Yup,” Ren reaffirmed.

“Really? Ok...I guess we can go...” I replied a little hesitantly after looking at my mentors for approval.

It has been a while since Ren made the offer to teach me how to ride. I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t excited about the opportunity. Plus, I would get to spend some time with Ren. Talk about shooting two birds with one stone!

“The crown prince is waiting for you in the living room, My Lady” a maid came to inform me.

Ren is here a little earlier than we had agreed. Perhaps, he’s excited about today too?

Just like the maid had said, Ren was waiting for me in the living room.

“Good morning, Ren. You’re here a little early,” I said when I walked into the room.

“Better early than late. Let’s go,” Ren said with a charming smile.

He got up from his seat and approached me. Ren offered me his hand and I held it without hesitation. I wondered what duties he casted aside today to spend the day with me.

“Are you skipping out on work to spend the day with me?” I asked, teasingly.

“We can both thank Shin later for that,” Ren said as we walked side-by-side out of the White Lotus Palace.

“He took on your work?” I asked, slightly curious. freewebnovёl.ƈom

“Yes. He’s a very helpful one,” Ren said with a small laugh.

“How did you convince him?” I asked.

“I told him that we’ll work hard on making a royal baby. That truly got him motivated in taking over my duties,” Ren said, and I couldn’t tell if he was being serious or if he was just joking.

“Are you serious?” I asked in disbelief.

“Yes. I’m serious,” Ren admitted with a laugh.

I couldn’t help but laugh along. Truthfully, I was very worried about conceiving Ren’s child. I knew that since I’ve taken his seed inside of me, there is a possibility that I could be pregnant with his child. However, I didn’t feel ready to be pregnant at all. There were so many things that I wanted and needed to do such as my studies.

Most importantly, I wasn’t sure how Ren felt about me or our future together as man and wife. The same thing could be said regarding my feelings. Circumstances had thrown the two of us together and I wasn’t sure how we should proceed forward. Ren has never mentioned anything about his feelings towards me and I would never dare to ask either.

My previous sexual encounters made me anxious, but it was very difficult for me to turn Ren down. From my studies, I knew that it wasn’t always easy for a woman to get pregnant, and some may take many months to years to finally conceive. However, I couldn’t help but wonder how long it will take for me to get with child if we keep up our frequent lovemaking.

“What are you thinking about? You’ve been quiet for a while now,” Ren asked, and I looked up to see that he was observing me intently.

I blushed immediately. He couldn’t read my mind, could he? Of course, I couldn’t tell him what I was thinking about.

“Nothing. I’m just a little nervous about today’s lesson...” I said before smiling at him. Hopefully that will pass as a good excuse.

We had arrived in front of the White Lotus Palace gates now and I could see Ren’s stallion waiting there. Ren’s horse seemed to be in a good mood and more than ready to serve his master. I have ridden on him before when we went to the hot springs together. Looking back on it now, it seemed like such a long time had past since then.

“Are we riding him?” I asked.

“Yes, for now. I’ll take you to my palace,” Ren replied.

“Your palace?” I asked, confused. Wasn’t he going to teach me how to ride?

“Yes. You do recall that I have my own stables there, don’t you?” Ren said before flashing me a bright smile.
