Chapter 56: Chapter 56
Before he could even dive deeper into what he was reading, a notification popped up at the top of his screen.
Bzzzt.
A text from Karl.
Karl:Yo Ray, we still on for this weekend or what? Let’s talk about that comedy shit. Don’t flake on me, dude.
Ray read it with a heavy sigh and fired back a quick reply.
Ray: Aight buddy.
He agreed ’cause it was an old promise from back when Karl helped him move into his apartment. Ray wasn’t the type to bail on promises, especially when a friend had his back—’cause he didn’t have that many friends to begin with. Could count ’em on one hand.
He was just about to put his phone down when it buzzed again. This time it was a call from Sonya. Ray let out a low grunt, already annoyed. This loud-ass morning still wasn’t over.
"Hello?" he answered, sounding bored as hell.
"Ray! Just calling to remind you—we’re still going out this Friday, right?!" Sonya’s voice was way too hyped on the other end. "Don’t you dare forget!"
Ray went quiet for a second. Truth was, he wasn’t really feeling Sonya anymore ’cause he’d already been through the trauma of eating with a spoon that had been used on some other bitch’s pussy. But he knew if he didn’t play along, shit would just get more complicated later.
"Yeah, I remember," Ray said short, trying not to sound too disgusted.
"Cool! See you then!"
After the call ended, Ray stared at the ceiling for a bit. The day was finally starting to look decent, and his stomach was growling after all that morning bullshit. He decided to grab food outside.
He remembered spotting a small spot near the convenience store yesterday. Ray walked over, enjoying the morning air that was finally warming up. When he got there, he ordered something quick and picked a corner seat that was kinda tucked away from everybody.
Right as he sat down, somebody tapped his shoulder from behind.
"Ray..." a voice called.
Ray turned around slow, already wondering who the fuck else was about to ruin his day.
It was Lena. The chick who used to work at the same gym Ray did back when he was still a janitor. Lena was that annoying type—always asking for favors or starting shit for no reason.
Ray blinked, kinda surprised. "Lena?"
Without saying shit or waiting for an invite, Lena just yanked a chair and sat down at his table like she paid rent there. She looked him up and down real quick before jumping straight in.
"Ray, I heard you landed some big project, huh?" she asked, eyes all narrow and nosy.
Ray didn’t feel like dragging it out, so he just gave a short nod. "Yo."
Lena straight up cackled—loud, high-pitched, and annoying as fuck. A couple people in the shop even turned to look. She couldn’t believe Ray was actually doing programming shit. In her head, he was still just that broke-ass floor-mopping gym janitor with zero future.
After she finally stopped laughing like a damn hyena, her face suddenly went all serious and kinda scared. She leaned in close. "But yo... you still remember that ghost at the gym, right? I swear I’m still scared as shit."
Ray had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from smiling. Lena was still stuck on that fake ghost story.
"I even took time off from the gym till now," she continued, looking stressed. "I’m terrified that gross-ass liquid’s gonna splash on my face again. Ugh, the trauma’s real!"
Ray’s stomach was doing backflips trying not to laugh. He was dying inside. ’Cause that "disgusting ghost liquid" Lena was so traumatized about? That was literally his cumshot. Straight up. Not some spooky shit.
Lena let out a long sigh and leaned back, scratching her head even though it wasn’t itchy. "And another thing—there’s a new janitor now. Dude’s filthy as hell. Plus he’s always hitting on the gym members."
Ray raised an eyebrow, kinda curious now. "What you mean?"
"Yeah, for real. He’s into dudes," Lena said bluntly, face all twisted in disgust. "That’s why the gym’s even more fucked up these days."
She took a sip of water before dropping one more thing. "Oh yeah, one more. ’Cause of all the problems, Maya’s the one fully running the gym now."
Ray went quiet. Hearing Maya’s name made his brain start spinning. He was already thinking about how messy shit must be at his old spot.
Ray was still lost in his thoughts about Maya and the gym when Lena suddenly stood up without asking.
"Yo, I’m starving. You already ordered? I’mma get something too," she said, already heading to the counter like it was her spot.
She came back a minute later with a plate of fried rice and iced tea, then plopped back down across from him like they were old lunch buddies. For a second, Ray just watched her. Lena looked... different today. Not the loud, annoying ex-coworker he remembered. Just a regular girl in an oversized hoodie, no bra underneath from what he could tell. Flat chest, but that ass? Still sitting nice and round on the plastic chair. Her skin looked extra pale under the morning light, almost glowing a little. Ray caught himself staring a second too long at the way the hoodie hugged her hips when she leaned forward to eat.
’Damn... she lowkey cute when she’s not running her mouth,’ he thought for a split second. The white skin + hoodie combo was doing something to him. Made her look softer. Touchable. freewebnσvel.cøm
Lena scooped up a big bite of rice and chewed happily, then glanced at him.
"What? You keep looking at me like that. I got rice on my face or something?" she asked, half-laughing.
Ray shook his head quick and focused on his own food. "Nah, you good."
They ate in silence for a bit. It was weirdly... normal. No drama, no ghost stories, no annoying questions. Just two people eating. Ray’s eyes kept drifting though—down to how the hoodie rode up a little when she reached for her drink, showing a sliver of pale waist. That ass really was carrying the whole outfit.
Then Lena stretched her arms up and let out a long, sleepy yawn.
And that’s when it hit him.
A wave of hot, sour, straight-up hell breath came flying across the table. Like she hadn’t brushed her teeth since last week and ate raw onions for breakfast. Ray’s nose wrinkled hard. Whatever little spark of attraction he felt two seconds ago? Gone. Completely murdered. Buried. Six feet under.
He leaned back in his chair, trying not to gag.
Lena didn’t even notice. She just scratched her messy hair and kept eating like nothing happened.
"Anyway," she said with her mouth half full, "back to what I was saying earlier... that new janitor really be moving mad. Yesterday I heard he tried to flirt with one of the regular guys in the locker room. Whole gym’s turning into a circus, I swear."
Ray just nodded, still recovering from the biological weapon she just exhaled. He took a long sip of his drink, trying to wash the smell out of his nose.
’Yeah... nah. We not doing this,’ he told himself. ’Flat chest and nice ass or not, that mouth smell like the devil’s asshole. Hard pass.’
He poked at his food, suddenly way less hungry than before.

Ray was still poking at his food, trying to forget the toxic cloud Lena just exhaled, when suddenly— freёwebnovel.com
Flash.
A bright white light exploded right in front of his face. For half a second everything went white. Ray jerked back, blinking hard like someone just took a photo with flash right in his eyes.
"The fuck—?!" he muttered, rubbing his eyes.
He turned to Lena. She was sitting there with her phone up, staring at the screen real focused. The flash had definitely come from her phone.
Ray narrowed his eyes. "The fuck you doing?"
Lena jumped a little, then quickly lowered her phone and gave an awkward laugh.
"Ahh... my bad, just accidentally tapped some shit. Camera was open," she said, waving her hand like it was nothing. "Didn’t mean to flash you."
Ray stared at her for a second, suspicious as hell. Something about the way she said it felt off. But Lena just went back to eating her rice like nothing happened, so he let it slide.
"Whatever," he muttered under his breath.
They finished eating pretty quick after that. The vibe got kinda awkward anyway. Lena wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, stood up, and stretched.
"Alright, I’m out. Got stuff to do. See you around, Ray."
"Yeah... later," Ray said, still half-distracted.
Lena gave a small wave and walked out of the shop, hoodie swaying with that same nice ass. Ray stayed seated, watching her leave for a moment before leaning back in his chair with a sigh.
Once she was gone, he glanced around to make sure nobody was paying attention, then lifted his right hand and pressed his thumb against the floating fingerprint icon only he could see.
The system window popped up in front of him like always.
[Level 6]
Ray stared at it, jaw tight. He was getting real fucking tired of the limitations. Every time he used the common sense alteration, it only lasted like ten minutes max before shit went back to normal. And if he tried to do anything actually perverted during that window? Even shorter. Ten minutes of fun wasn’t enough..
He let out a low, frustrated breath through his nose.
"...Fuck this."
A small, crooked grin slowly spread across his face.
"Alright then. Time to stop playing it safe."
His finger hovered over the daily mission.
[Hardcore]
He tapped it without hesitation.
[Ding!]
