Chapter 304: Chapter 302:Two days..

Academy city.

Aeternum spire.

The dark space of the dean’s residence suddenly lit up as the roof transformed into a stunning image of the starry skies, a resplendent glow illuminating the entire room.

The celestial eyes in the sky opened, as the aged voice of the dean sounded out,

"Foreigner, what do you want?"

Silence was what greeted the voice until space rippled and a figure appeared.

It was an elderly man of average height, his face despite looking aged, Maintained a rosy hue, his expression one of intrigue as his gaze roamed around before he finally replied,

"Foreigner? That’s so sad, here I thought you’d finally be warming up to us, after all, you already call those filthy demons as one of your own, isn’t that right, O’Guardian?"

A heavy pressure choked the entire room as the man that had appeared felt the strain on his body.

"I have no time for your games, state you intentions and begone." The deans cold voice replied.

"Fine, then." The elderly figure finally dropped his expression, as his voice turned cold,

"My young master wishes to take one of your students."

"Impossible."

"Heh! I think we both know it isn’t."

"You shall not lay a hand on another one of my children, that’s final." The dean’s voice had dropped to freezing temperatures.

"Heh! O’Guardian, we both know you have no say in this matter, just as you were forced to choose the last time, you will be forced to choose once more." The elder sneered.

"Is that a threat?" The pressure thickened as the elderly man fell to his knees, blood seeping from his lips.

"O.. O’Guardian.. quell your rage.. you.. you do not wish to do this... you know the consequences should I not return.." at the strained words of the kneeling figure, the dean’s pressure finally relented albeit just slightly.

"You’re not allowed to lay a hand on any one of my kids." The dean’s tone was final.

"My young master said, should you refuse, he doesn’t mind placing a call back home..."

"You wouldn’t dare. The others will never allow it."

"Heh! You forget, Guardian, this isn’t just a matter involving only my own people, so, unless you’re willing to see your precious children lose their lives, your world reduced to ash, you shall choose wisely."

The eyes in the sky closed, a solemn feeling spilling up the space,

"You will fail. Those kids, they’re around people whom even you will need to reconsider before making a move."

"Heh. Worry not about the specifics, so long as you make your choice, all is settled.

Now choose.

The few.

Or.

The many.

The choice as always, is yours."

...

...

The heavy silence that had suddenly engulfed the whole space was broken by the dean’s weighted sigh.

"Who?"

"That depends on the opportunity that presents itself, but I assure, we only need one, and we won’t harm them, so long as our target appears."

......

......

"..... Leave."

"Just as always, O’Guardian, you have made the right choice, my young master shall be pleased, hahahahaha." Leaving behind those scathing words, space shimmered as the elderly figure disappeared from the spot.

Silence returned to the space before the dean’s voice broke it once more,

"You are playing a dangerous game my child." The dean’s eyes opened once more as starlight bathed the space and a figure appeared.

"This is a game they started, and one I intend on putting to an end permanently." Valen’s cold voice echoed through the space as his eyes remained trained to the spot the elderly figure had been.

"You’re putting those younglings at risk."

"You underestimate the children you yourself raised, they... shall be fine. I’ll see to that personally."

A beat of silence passed, before,

"Do you think they’ll ever forgive me?" The dean asked.

"I... do not know."

"Haaa... was that the right choice? All those years ago, did I choose right?"

Valen went quiet, his eyes closing as he suddenly sighed,

"Heh!" He scoffed.

"It’s funny you say that, because I know a very foolish person who would agree wholeheartedly with you decision a million times over."

The space went quiet once more as the two men became engrossed in their thoughts.

"The boy... he’s not ready." The dean said after a lengthy silence.

"Heh! It seems your age truly is catching up to you old man." Valen laughed, bringing out an arm from his sleeve.

The arm was withered, dried up, and on the verge of absolute collapse.

"What...?"

"Two days... it’s been two days since he struck me with that final move, and my body still hadn’t recovered, negation... is failing." Valen’s words were grim, devastating even as he brought the hood of his robe down, his withered face coming into full view.

He looked one moment away from falling apart, but a wide smile had appeared on his face.

"Awakened in less than two months, yet he was still able to bring me to this stage, despite not having any ideas of just how badly impeded he is."

Turning his arm around, looking at the damage occurring and barely recovering in real time, he continued,

"The abyss. It will unlock his full potential. It will be the perfect training grounds. Let him experience the true nature of the things he’s casually carrying around, let him feel the true weight of laws and what they can do. And once he steps foot out of the abyss, this plague, these chains we’ve been under for ages.

Regulus’ death.

All shall be accounted for.

The time for passivity, old man, is over."

"A revolution is coming."

"... and his name."

Valen paused, his head raised as his burning gaze locked into those of the dean before he finally opened his mouth,

"... is Dante Draven."

......

......

Two days later...

"You know, at this point, you might as well pack your bags and come stay here with me." I snickered as I watched Mira’s rousing figure, my eyes taking in fully the magnificent view before me.

She merely looked at me, not wasting her time wondering how she’d ended up here again, something that had already happened not once, not twice, but three times now.

Neither was she reacting to my wandering gaze and suggestive arm placements on her wide hips.

Knock!

Knock!

A knock at the door interrupted whatever words she had to say, as a timid voice came from the outside,

"Master Dante. The Matriarch and mistress Clarissa await your arrival."

At the words of the timid maid, my eyes shifted to the clock, it was already well past morning.

So, lifting the weightless beauty, I trudged toward the bathroom, my thoughts spinning in excitement as finally, the day had arrived.

"Time to go have some fun."

***********

A/N: valen and the dean? Wtf are you two up to? And why the hell is Mira so cool with being taken to the bathroom like that? Wtf will they be doing in there????

So jealous, but anyways.
