Chapter 422: Chapter 152: The Offensive

A door on one of the cars in the convoy opened. As a high-heeled shoe touched the ground, a glamorous woman with a slender waist stepped out, dressed in a short skirt, a fur coat, and purple eyeshadow.

She click-clacked over to the patrol car, pulled a resident’s Name Card from her coat, and handed it to one of the security Patrol Officers, giving him a seductive glance.

When the two security guards couldn’t resist looking at her, a hypnotic light flickered in her eyes. The two men found themselves staring at her, dazed.

The glamorous woman’s fingers twitched. Two hair-thin Implants extended, coiling around and burrowing into the back of each man’s neck.

After a moment, the two security guards seemed to come to their senses. One of them carefully inspected the Name Card, confirming she was a resident. However, he didn’t lower his guard, instead glancing at the other vehicles. "Why are there so many of you?" he asked.

The woman gave a seductive smile and said in a voice that sent a tingle down their spines, "We’ve been invited as guests to a residence here. They like a lively party, so there are quite a few of us."

"Are all the people in the cars invited guests?"

"Yes, they are."

"May we take a look? Forgive the intrusion, but we’re responsible for the safety of every resident in the area."

"Of course."

The woman smiled and walked back down the line of cars, opening each door as she went. Inside sat tall, powerfully built men and women, their bodies concealed by hooded robes. They all wore snake-shaped accessories—some embedded in their lower lips, others hanging on their chests.

Each one had an icy gaze. A few had faces covered in scars and serpentine tattoos, giving them a ferocious appearance.

In the eyes of the two security guards, however, all they saw were voluptuous beauties and exquisitely dressed young men.

Thinking about these people being delivered to a residence at this hour, both guards showed subtle, knowing expressions on their faces.

After looking through the cars, one of the guards handed the Name Card back to the woman. "Sorry to have bothered you," he said, before returning to the patrol car. They quickly drove away.

They rendezvoused with the other patrol car and reported to their superiors. "We’ve checked them out. No issues. It’s a resident from the East District, invited to a party at a home in the North District. The people in the cars... well, it’s the usual sort of thing, what else could it be? That woman, though, she was a real knockout..."

Once the patrol cars were gone, the convoy continued on its way. Xiaosheng glanced at the back seat and praised the woman. "Sister Feng, your hypnosis technique is a real eye-opener every time."

Sister Feng waved a hand dismissively. "Oh, stop. No need for compliments. I could only pull that off because I had a Domain-interference creature with me. Otherwise, the Implants in their bodies would have detected the physiological abnormalities the moment the hypnosis took effect and sounded an alarm. If that had happened, Motie Mountain’s security forces would probably be all over us by now."

Just then, a shadow passed overhead, accompanied by a sweeping beam of light and the thrum of rotor blades.

It was one of Motie Mountain’s small patrol Airships. The vehicle was a serious threat. Even with several Third Limit masters in their convoy, there was little they could do against an Airship flying so high, so it was best to avoid detection. However, as the fog thickened and visibility dropped, the patrols would likely become less frequent.

The convoy met no further resistance and proceeded unimpeded, gradually approaching the area where Meng Manor was located. Due to the fog, however, they could only make out a faint silhouette.

Sister Feng asked, "Is that the place?"

"Yes, that’s the place."

Xiaosheng confirmed. He then tapped the panel separating them from the driver. "Go tell the others to stop here."

Less than a minute later, the convoy halted at a street corner. Xiaosheng checked his watch. "Perfect timing. We have five minutes. All we have to do is wait."

The dense fog provided perfect cover. It was the weather they had been waiting for. He had arranged for two teams of mercenaries to launch simultaneous diversionary attacks elsewhere on Motie Mountain. Once they drew the attention of the mountain’s security system, his team would move on the primary target.

It was a simple and effective tactic.

And if the mercenaries all got wiped out, it didn’t matter. In fact, it would save them a nice sum of money.

The time came quickly. The faint sound of gunfire drifted from the east and west. Xiaosheng knew the moment had arrived. He immediately got out of the car and approached the middle-aged man. "Boss?"

The middle-aged man nodded. He immediately turned and ordered, "Check your gear! Prepare to move out!"

Car doors flew open, and people poured out—men and women of all shapes and sizes.

"Remember, to ensure our withdrawal, we have twenty minutes, maximum. The target must be eliminated within that timeframe..."

Xiaosheng tirelessly repeated the key points of the plan. He’d already gone over them several times, but he knew some of the team members didn’t give a damn about plans. They were only here for the thrill of the slaughter. If not for the boss’s authority, they wouldn’t listen to a word he said.

But as the one in charge of the plan, he had to state it all one last time. ’Even if only a little of it sinks in, that’s better than nothing.’

"Besides the one Third Limit Fighter, the manor only has regular security and bio-weapons. But you need to be careful. That Third Limit Fighter is no pushover."

"You’ve all seen the footage. He beat Wei Wusheng, a Horizontal Training specialist, to death with his bare hands. He killed Feng Yaren bare-handed in just three steps. You must eliminate him at the first opportunity. Don’t give him a chance to get going..."

Seeing impatient looks on many of their faces, he cut himself short. "All right, move out!"

Meanwhile, at Meng Manor, the eruption of gunfire in the distance caught the attention of the security patrol. They immediately reported to Chen Chuan. "Mr. Chen..."

Inside the villa, Chen Chuan had already risen from his meditative state. "I hear it," he replied.

But just as he spoke, the line went dead. There was only static. He tried contacting Wubei and the others, but it was the same.

’The Domain signal is being jammed.’ He understood. What he had been waiting for had finally arrived. He walked outside and spoke to the guard on duty by the door. "The enemy is here. Prepare for battle."

The security guard stiffened, saluted him, and immediately ran off. Moments later, an alarm blared across the manor grounds.

In her bedroom, Meng Shu heard the alarm and immediately threw on a robe. A flicker of nervousness crossed her face, but she quickly suppressed it as servants, Yan Yi, and other security personnel rushed in.

Yan Yi came to her side. "Miss, we’re going down."

Meng Shu nodded and followed them toward the basement. She paused as she passed a window, her feet stopping for a moment as she glanced outside. "Mr. Chen has made extensive preparations," Yan Yi said reassuringly. "And he is incredibly strong. It should be fine."

Meng Shu gave a slight nod. Three female guards immediately escorted her into the basement. The entrance would be sealed behind them, and its defenses were strong enough to hold off armed attackers for a considerable amount of time.

At the same time, the Processing Bureau, which had been monitoring Meng Manor, also realized something was wrong. A Resonator exclaimed, "Captain Guan, the Domain feed is being jammed!"

Captain Guan’s expression was grim. "It seems Meng Huang has made his move. Notify Motie Mountain security immediately! I want that signal jam broken, now!"

"Yes, sir!"

Chen Chuan went back inside the villa. Unhurried, he donned his hooded robe, pulled on his gloves, and put on his protective mask. Finally, he picked up the Snow Monarch Blade and walked slowly out of the villa once more.

He stood on high ground, looking down. The fog was too thick to see anything clearly, but they had run this drill many times. The security team didn’t panic, and each member moved swiftly to their designated position.

Flying bio-weapons awoke from their dormant state, darting back and forth through key areas. The combat strength of these creatures was secondary to their incredibly sensitive senses. Anyone passing through their Defensive zones, no matter how fast, would inevitably startle them and be detected.

As the manor’s searchlights cut through the sky, blurry shadows became visible in the surrounding fog, moving rapidly up the mountain. In that same moment, the automated weapon emplacements positioned around the manor roared to life.

The armed personnel raiding the manor included not only Third Limit Fighters but also skilled combatants from the First and Second Limits, as well as ordinary gunmen.

These individuals were mainly responsible for drawing fire and providing suppressive support, so they immediately returned fire as soon as the manor’s defenses opened up.

Chen Chuan knew they weren’t the real threat. True masters wouldn’t be restricted by the terrain, nor would they charge headfirst into concentrated fire. They would flank. So he paid the grunts no mind. Instead, he stood alone, blade in hand, guarding the open ground at the top of the hill leading to the residence.

After waiting only a moment, a noise came from his left. A burly figure was charging toward him at a speed that completely defied his massive frame.

He was a stout man, almost as wide as he was tall, with a thick, folded Shield on his back. One look was enough to see his rock-hard muscles. He wore gauntlets tipped with metal spikes. The bio-weapons in his path simply exploded into pulp as he barreled through them.

When one of the creatures flew at his face, he simply ducked his head, and it splattered into a gooey mess against his skull. He casually wiped it away. As he neared, he leaped into the air and landed heavily just to Chen Chuan’s left. A spiderweb of cracks spread across the ground beneath his feet.

But the moment his feet touched the ground, the figure before him was suddenly right in his face. He had no time to grab the Shield from his back. With a furious roar, he threw a punch.

Chen Chuan met the punch head-on, neither dodging nor evading. His breath suddenly grew scorching hot as he threw a punch of his own. BOOM! Like a sudden peal of thunder on the mountaintop, the two fists collided.

Wisps of white steam billowed from the point of impact, rising like clouds to join the fog. The massive figure froze for a moment. A series of sickening cracks echoed from his body as blood began to seep from every pore. Before the stunned eyes of his approaching comrades, he went limp, as if his skeleton had dissolved, and collapsed to the ground.

Chen Chuan held his punching stance. His eyes were cold, but his voice was calm. "One." At the same time, a faint light flashed across his robe, the Protective Clothing beneath it, and his mask.
