The new furnace was a weird open-air structure with one large stone column in the middle. It had no walls around it and only a big ceiling on top.
The ceiling was made by a mixture of dirt and many earth elements, creating a hard material that could withstand an extremely high temperature.
The ground included a large Alchemical Seal with a trench to drop the Red Coals in.
As the villagers pushed the metal cart forward, they dropped in non-stop Red Coals into the trench.
Rumius the Doberman licked its lips. "We're very close."
The fat cat stroked its whiskers. "You know. If we do this, we will become a target."
"I won't be worrying about it. After all, that would give the flame-touched villagers a much-needed power up." Rumius barked.
And the villagers dropped in more Red Coals.
"Stop! This should be enough!"
Rumius's two projected human hands appeared on its shoulder. The hands performed countless hand signs and activated the furnace.
The Alchemical Seal on the ground lit up and consumed all the Red Coals within it. The roof lit up in bright orange as one large column of pure Living Flame shot up to the air. The temperature was raised significantly. Along with that was the power of the flame-touched villagers.
The ice-touched villagers were unharmed and received no negative effect.
Miriam looked at her glowing hand. "Woah... I can feel the Living Flame stir within me."
Her entire body engulfed in flame. She began to shoot out countless fireball from her hands.
The flame-touched was no longer limited to melee combat now.
Jace observed Miriam and couldn't help but feeling a little bit jealous.
"So cool! I want some power-up too!" Jace said.
The fat cat floated over and patted his head. "Don't worry, Jace. Your time will come."
With the Flame Column established, the villagers could now operate even more efficiently.
The finally began to build their guard posts and expanded their influence on the entirety of their territory.
Rumius set up a second Flame Column in the previous location of the Blice Village. This one was only a sub structure that would spread the influence of the original one, not a second furnace. The pine forest was officially within its affected area.
Mater pulled over a few craftsmen in the Everlasting Wilds over to teach the villagers how to build and make items.
The craftsmen hated being in Eternum because of its awful weather. But their Lord commanded them, so they had to do it.
Tony was still the leader of the craftsmen. Astrid, Selina's former classmate, was also within the group of traveling craftsmen.
"Achoo!" Astrid sneezed. "Why is Lord Warlock even interested in this hellhole?"
Tony rubbed his arms for better warmth. "This is probably the Glacial Eternum we heard so much about. This place is a gold mine of power. We just need how to use it."
Jace approached them with a few villagers.
"You guys must be the Craftsmen. Lord Warlock has informed us about your arrival." Jace said. "I am Jace. The current leader of this village."
"Tony Snow. Grandmaster of the Dark Court Craftsmen Guild. These are my colleagues."
"Shall we go?"
"Yup! This place is so cold!"
Tony and the craftsmen were inside the affected area of the Flame Column. Even so, their body wanted to shut down because of the cold. This only proved how much the humans of this area had gotten familiar with this world deathly weather.
Tony picked a few bright villagers to let them work among the craftsmen and taught them the craft. The weapon and armor workshop was officially established.
Currently, there was only one workshop.
Miriam and the flame-touched villagers established the hunting stations and began to hunt more aggressively.
The fat cat and Selina went along with them to see how they hunt the hellbeast.
"You have seen one of them before, Mater?" Selina asked.
The fat cat was hiding inside her shirt. "Yup. Even fight a few of them before. Some hellbeasts are even more powerful than the White Council."
"No way. Then why aren't the hellbeasts rule this hell?" Selina said.
"They are just mindless beasts. Even with their ruthless power, they could be killed by a sly Wight. You'll see soon."
Miriam and the villagers hid on the branches of the giant pine trees. They kept their breath low and each holding a special spear in their hands. This type of spear was a combined effort of the craftsmen and Crow. It could channel their Living Flame and enhanced their attack.
Suddenly, there was a loud thud not far away. A large creature was revealed.
It was an entire white beast with two large horns in front. It walked on four legs. Each of its legs was as big as a tree stump. Its body was round and it looked like a fat goat from afar.
"Woah... What is that..." Selina said.
The two of them were far enough away to not disturb the hunting.
The fat cat popped its head out of her shirt and looked. "Ah. The drill beast."
"What kind of name is that?"
"The name that I made it up. These hellbeasts don't have a name. I just named them based on their characteristics. Watch!"
The villagers jumped down. Their spear caught on fire as they plunged them into the hellbeasts.
Cold air spread out from the hellbeast. When it felt the danger, the air condensed into a thick layer of Death Ice.
The flame was stopped outside.
In between its horn, white energy began to materialize.
"Retreat!"
Miriam and the villagers pulled their spears away and got as far as possible.
The white energy concentrated into a sphere. It exploded and froze anything around it. Even the tree became a statue of pure ice.
The hellbeast then turned toward the running villager. Its horn conjured more Death Ice. This time, it took a shape of a pointed drill.
"Wait... Don't tell me." Selina said.
The drill spun fiercely and shot toward the villagers.
Miriam jumped up and dodged the attack. "Use the trees!"
The villagers jumped up to the branches and quickly maneuvered to other trees to avoid the drill.
The drill cut down countless tree and stopped when it slammed into a large boulder.
"Heh. It really is a drill beast." Selina said.
