Chapter 47: Apex Medicine Pavilion
When the clock hit 4 PM, Darius dressed in a casual robe. While he disliked the feeling, there were no other options since he hadn’t gone shopping yet. Soon, he closed the Pavilion’s doors before his body froze.
’That place should do, right?’
Darius ran through the different places where he could buy medicinal herbs before quickly finding the best option.
Indeed!
He had already taken a Spirit Stone and some gold in order to get whatever he needed for his alchemy practice. If he wasn’t mistaken, it would take a night and a little more before he could start producing pills and selling them.
As he was deep in thought, he felt two eyes locked onto him. He couldn’t help but turn his head, only to see a veiled woman staring at him with excited eyes as though he were some kind of precious treasure. freewēbnoveℓ.com
"Any? We’re closed for today. Come back tomorrow," he waved casually, thinking the woman was here to beg him to let her rent the room one more time.
"That’s sad." Any paused slightly before continuing, her voice trailing off a little. "Can I... can I accompany you? I’ve always wondered what you do after work hours. Do you go buy groceries or something?"
Darius was momentarily dazed before casually waving his hand.
"Do whatever you want."
He honestly didn’t care much whether she followed him or not. It might even be better since she could keep him company. Rarely had he interacted with people since coming to this world, so a change was always welcome.
Any became excited when she heard his reply.
’Big Brother is a liar. There is no way Young Master Darius is dangerous.’
Scrutinizing the young man next to her, she nodded her head, confirming her conclusion.
Her brother kept nagging her about interacting with him and how she should never do so, but she felt he was too paranoid and fearful. Darius seemed like a rather relaxed person, unlike the hateful Luke.
A while later, they departed, with Any following Darius.
"Where are we going?" Any asked after leaving the narrow alley where the Immortal Pavilion was located.
"Apex Medicine Pavilion," Darius replied.
Any made an "oh."
She thought Darius would explain why he was going there. After all, she was accompanying him, but he simply gave a one-word answer and didn’t continue.
The two walked quickly, and after only twenty minutes, they reached their destination. Dragon City wasn’t particularly large, with a population of less than a million, and reaching the Inner City from the Outer City only took that long.
Apex Medicine Pavilion was a very powerful existence and had a branch in every city around Dragon City. Whether there were branches outside this region, Darius wasn’t too sure due to his limited knowledge. Regardless, the variety of medicinal plants and pills in Apex Medicine Pavilion should be more than enough, as they should have nearly every type available on the market. If something couldn’t be bought there, then it most likely couldn’t be bought elsewhere either.
This was common knowledge to all, but Any was quite puzzled. Did Darius need pills for his cultivation, or was he there for something else?
Darius entered the pavilion and approached a counter. Behind it sat a very beautiful young woman. Seeing Darius walk over, she immediately stood up with a smile and said,
"Hello, my name is Alice Hawkins. I’m honored to be of service."
Her eyes focused on Any for a moment. After all, this young girl was unusually beautiful, and that fact could be seen from her large, pretty eyes. Eyes could never lie. Even she felt slightly captivated despite being a woman herself.
Darius nodded and said,
"I would like to buy Violet Lotus Grass, Blue Branch Fruit, Hundred-Year Vermilion Bamboo, Red-Leafed Potato, and Rotted Leaf Dead Tree Roots."
Alice Hawkins’s face went completely blank.
She had been working here for over two years, yet she had never heard of these five medicinal plants. She stared blankly for a moment before saying,
"Customer, I apologize, but I haven’t even heard of these medicinal plants. Please wait a moment; I will ask someone else on your behalf."
"All right," Darius nodded.
These five medicinal plants were indeed quite uncommon because, aside from being used to concoct Element Heart Increase Spirit Powder, they were rarely used for other concoctions. Even though Element Heart Increase Spirit Powder was not a high-grade concoction, it was listed in the Basic Alchemy Inheritance, and Darius found it the most suitable choice for his first product.
The pill would allow a person’s affinity with their Heart Method to increase significantly, greatly enhancing their cultivation speed, strength, and foundation. The moment he read its description, he instantly chose it.
A Heart Method was essentially the cultivation technique that laid the foundation for mages and warriors. One could only cultivate a single Heart Method, and changing it was extremely risky and far from guaranteed.
This was also one of the reasons many people joined guilds. Their Heart Methods were of high quality and could even stretch into the Fourth Realm and beyond, making the cultivation journey much smoother.
Heart Methods were divided into two categories. The first was the Internal Energy Heart Method, which mages, priests, and other spell-casting cultivators used. The second was the Body Refinement Heart Method, which warriors used to strengthen their bones, flesh, organs, and overall physique.
Unlike common healing pills, cultivation pills, and similar products, this one felt like a rare commodity that would attract customers much faster. While he would obviously refine those other pills as well, this one held the highest priority for him. The medicinal herbs required were uncommon according to the knowledge he had received, making Apex Medicine Pavilion the best place to shop.
After a while, Alice Hawkins returned accompanied by a middle-aged man who appeared to be around thirty years old.
The man walked toward them before looking at Darius with a face full of disdain.
"Are you the one causing trouble?"
