Chapter 505: Chapter 505: The Beast Tide Rampage
The vast expanse of the Ancient Wasteland Region stretched endlessly under a brilliant blue sky. High above, a massive serpent a hundred zhang long soared across the heavens, its immense body blotting out the sun as fierce winds howled in its wake.
With such a mighty and awe-inspiring mount, how could Liu Xi resist riding it? The Ancient Heaven Demon Python, after all, was one of the apex predators of the Ancient Wasteland Region. Mounted upon this beast, Liu Xi’s journey through the wilderness became significantly smoother—few creatures dared to provoke such a terrifying existence.
Atop the python’s head stood two figures. Liu Xi stood with his hands clasped behind his back, gaze fixed firmly upon the distant horizon—the direction where the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree’s aura could be faintly sensed. Beside him, Qing Lin stood a step behind, her jade-like eyes quietly watching Liu Xi’s calm, handsome profile, the corners of her lips curved in a sweet, affectionate smile.
With such a powerful mount beneath them, the number of beasts foolish enough to challenge them dwindled drastically. Their speed soared, and in less than two days, a colossal ancient stage surrounded by endless mist came into view.
That was the Ancient Region Stage—rumored to be a battlefield from the ancient era where countless experts had fallen. The remnants of their ferocious killing intent lingered, so oppressive that even the fiercest magical beasts dared not approach.
Because of that, it had become one of the few peaceful zones within the Ancient Wasteland Region’s depths. Beyond that stage lay the true heart of the wilderness—and if the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree existed, it would undoubtedly be there.
Spotting the stage from afar meant they were close. With the python’s immense speed, they reached it almost instantly. Beneath Liu Xi’s feet stretched the vast stone plain of the Ancient Region Stage. freewёbnoνel.com
Yet the Ancient Heaven Demon Python did not stop. Instead, it flew straight ahead. Liu Xi knew full well what awaited beyond—the endless, terrifying Beast Tide that guarded the core of the region.
But he had come here early, before any other power arrived. There were no allies to rely on, nor did he intend to wait for any. If he couldn’t seize the initiative, then coming early would have been meaningless.
He and Qing Lin had rested well atop the python; neither showed a trace of fatigue. There was nothing left to discuss—he would charge through!
Before them stretched an ocean of beasts that seemed to fill the heavens and earth. Roars of fury and killing intent thundered like waves, the bloody stench of slaughter rising into the clouds.
Even for someone like Liu Xi, a Half Saint, the sight was staggering. Yet he did not flinch. This tide of beasts would not deter his pursuit of the Bodhisattva Ancient Tree.
"Young Master, are we truly charging into that?" Qing Lin’s voice carried concern as she gazed upon the endless tide of monstrous forms. "This beast tide is too dangerous. Charging straight through... isn’t wise."
"We are," Liu Xi replied firmly, his eyes sharp and resolute. "My goal lies beyond that tide. Command the Heaven Demon Python to fly at full speed—I’ll clear the way!"
"Alright!"
If Liu Xi walked into fire and blades, Qing Lin would follow him without hesitation. With a sharp whistle, she urged the python forward.
"ROAR!"
Though unwilling, the Ancient Heaven Demon Python could not resist her will. With a ferocious bellow, it released a surge of black mist, diving straight into the surging tide.
Liu Xi stepped forward, his aura exploding like a storm. His long hair fluttered wildly, his eyes glacial and unyielding. The very presence of his Half Saint cultivation caused the outermost layer of the beast tide to hesitate, their roars faltering.
Half Saint—those two words alone meant he was beyond the reach of mere numbers. The outer beasts were plentiful, but their strength was pitiful—Dou Wang, Dou Huang-level, fifth and sixth-rank beasts at best. No matter how many came, they were nothing to him.
As the python plunged into the horde, it spewed out a tide of black mist. Miserable howls followed as an area a hundred zhang wide was instantly cleared, leaving behind only piles of withered bones.
But the tide surged endlessly. Beasts filled the gap in moments, their blood-red eyes blazing as they threw themselves toward Liu Xi, Qing Lin, and the python.
Liu Xi’s gaze was cold. With a single sweep of his hand, torrents of azure Dou Qi surged forth, forming violent streaks that tore through the horde. Wherever they passed, beasts were shredded into exploding clouds of blood.
In the blink of an eye, a thousand-zhang corridor was carved through the tide. The python slithered forward rapidly, gliding through the cleared path like a shadow amid the chaos.
Still, the flood of monsters from all directions was endless—fearless, mindless, relentless. Liu Xi’s attacks came again and again, each wave obliterating a swath of enemies.
At the same time, Qing Lin’s Jade Snake Three-Flower Pupils glimmered. Her body emitted a thick, crimson mist as her killing intent surged to rival Liu Xi’s. With a graceful motion, that bloody mist condensed into countless serpents that devoured everything in their path.
It was one of the benefits she had gained from absorbing the Heaven Demon Blood Pool—she could now channel the Ancient Heaven Serpent’s power even in human form. Compared to its enormous true body, her human form was far more agile, her strength even more concentrated.
Her body, refined jointly by the blood pool and the Ancient Heaven Serpent’s essence, had reached terrifying durability—unlocking a special state where she could manifest the serpent’s might directly.
In this form, her blood mist surged, her killing intent soared, and her combat strength rivaled that of the Ancient Heaven Serpent itself.
Now, two Half Saint-level beings advanced side by side. The weakest among them was, ironically, their mount—the 5-Turn Dou Zun Heaven Demon Python—reduced to little more than a beast of burden.
With Liu Xi leading the charge, no beast survived more than a breath. The python surged forward behind him, and Qing Lin guarded the rear, ensuring that no creature came within a hundred zhang of them.
It was like a blade cutting through tofu—the dense sea of beasts couldn’t slow them for even a heartbeat.
From the sky, one would see a vast path of carnage slicing through the tide, a line of devastation stretching endlessly forward.
Liu Xi thrust his palm outward again, his Dou Qi sweeping through the beasts ahead, but this time, he felt resistance.
"Hmm? A Dou Zun-ranked beast? Looks like we’re nearing the heart of the tide. Heaven Demon Python—accelerate! We’ll break through in one go!"
A grin spread across his face, his long hair fluttering freely. His aura was calm yet overwhelming. The stronger the danger, the more composed he became.
This endless tide had cost him less than thirty percent of his Dou Qi, and even that was rapidly regenerating under his Tian Class Qi Method.
The Beast Tide—so deadly to others—was little more than a test of endurance for him.
’As long as my speed is fast enough, the tide will never catch me!’
The Heaven Demon Python let out a weary hiss, pushing its body to the limit. Its massive frame blurred into a dark streak, racing through the corridor of destruction Liu Xi had carved.
And then, suddenly—light.
As if piercing through a veil of fog, the world ahead opened up. The ground beyond was vast and silent—no beasts remained.
Liu Xi blinked in mild disbelief, then turned back. Behind him, the monstrous horde filled the horizon, roaring and thrashing—but none dared cross the threshold.
He smiled faintly. The Beast Tide Rampage... had been conquered.
