Chapter 1939: Her Father

-----

After healing Beowulf, Little Erebus narrowed his large eye, sensing something stirring within the werewolf.

"Master, you didn’t tell the girl he has begun developing something inside his chest?" Little Erebus asked, having detected a faint source of dream essence radiating from the Werewolf King’s chest.

"It would be better if he discovers that power himself," Elayne replied. "Although he has grown weaker and lost some of his strength, this might help him regain it... we’ll see. He still faces a long recovery."

Elayne nodded and rose from the crowd, ascending toward the sky.

High above, a group of observers had been watching everything in silence.

She had expected them to attack, yet they had simply observed.

"What’s wrong? I thought you would descend and settle this once and for all," Elayne said, confronting the mastermind behind the chaos. "Foreigner’s Master... your name was Kireina, correct?"

Kireina remained silent for a moment, then smiled and waved. "Indeed, that is my name, my dear. I must admit, I am utterly flabbergasted and completely fascinated by you! Despite everything, you’ve returned to normal—and you’re even stronger than before!"

"Is this all a game to you?!" Elayne demanded, her Dual Aura flaring with fury. "Just who are you?!"

"Who am I? Well, you could say I am someone determined to win this Holy War," Kireina answered with a gentle smile. "But I am also here for some fun. After all, where’s the fun without a little chaos?"

Elayne’s power surged even more intensely. "Foreigner, are you going to stand there or fight?"

"I appreciate your eagerness, Ruler, but how about we call a ceasefire for now?" Foreigner suggested. "We’ve had our fun, right, Master? I’m quite certain she has no desire to fight at the moment."

"And what makes you think I care?" Elayne shot back, her aura surging without end. "How about I trap you all here and kill you?"

A tense silence fell.

Kireina remained calm and composed, though her eyebrows rose slightly. Foreigner’s hands twitched as he felt the crushing pressure of her power, while the fairy beside Kireina—Alice—flinched, clearly the most terrified of them all. Even the Nightmare Demons behind them stood frozen, stunned by the sheer, corrupt magnitude of Elayne’s strength.

"Hehehe... Really? Do you think you can take me on?" Kireina asked, rising to her feet. Her aura exploded outward, warping reality itself.

"...?!" Elayne staggered under the overwhelming force. "What in the world are you?"

"Would you like to know?" Kireina replied. Half of her face suddenly cracked and began to shatter like glass, revealing the revolting, endless chaos beneath her skin.

"That power...?!" Elayne gasped. Her resolve hardened as she circulated her clashing internal energies, unleashing even greater might. "What sort of creature are you?! And... why do I feel the power of a Holy Grail inside you?!"

"Heheheh... Well, I wonder where the other new heroic spirits came from? Can you guess?" Kireina laughed. Her butterfly wings spread wide, growing to immense proportions. "Now... shall we go?"

Elayne summoned a pair of swords—one forged from golden wood, the other from dark wood. A Celestial Wood Sword and a Demonic Abyssal Wood Sword, both overflowing with the combined power of Gaia, Tartarus, and her Halo.

And yet...

She could still feel the immense gulf between them. Elayne knew she was not being reckless, but such a being should not exist. This strange, alien fairy woman... should not be allowed to roam free.

Their auras clashed violently, sending massive ripples through space. Foreigner stayed protectively by his young lady’s side but showed no intention of fighting. He merely sighed. "Young lady, your father is here."

"What? My fa—"

TRUUUM!

Darkness.

Swirling chaos.

All colors exploded at once, then vanished.

Pure white flared before shattering into glass-like fragments, and darkness swallowed everything once more.

When the reality-warping spectacle ended, he had arrived.

A towering, humanoid figure stood before them—an enormous being who had no need for such a form yet chose it anyway. He wore a sharp black suit and shoes. His face was a twisting, spiraling vortex of darkness, featureless—no eyes, nose, mouth, hair, or ears. He was an avatar of pure cosmic chaos.

He observed the scene in silence, emitting no threatening aura. Everyone present knew that if he did, all the gods of Japan would have to descend from Takamagahara with everything they possessed.

"Kireina, my baby, it’s dinner time. Come now, it’s time to go home."

"Daddy?! Why are you interrupting me at my most glorious moment?"

"Hm? What do you mean by—Ah... I see."

Elayne immediately recognized him. He was a being so powerful he rivaled—or even surpassed—some of the strongest foes she had ever faced.

"Greetings, ladies and gentlemen. I have no name, but am known as Lord Chaos," he announced in a refined, gentlemanly voice. "I have come only to retrieve my daughter and mean no harm. After all, there would be little point to anything else, wouldn’t there?"

His overwhelming power made it clear he did not view any of them as threats—merely inconveniences unworthy of his time.

Elayne stood her ground in silence, her Dual Divinities and Noah’s power within her barely allowing her to resist his crushing presence.

"Oh?" Lord Chaos noticed her resistance. "I see. Is this one of your playthings, my dear daughter?"

"No. I would consider her a proper enemy," Kireina said with a smile.

"Shall I dispose of her?" he asked.

"I would rather you not," came another voice. Kaguya, glowing like the sun, ascended from below—though the voice was not truly hers.

"Amaterasu, huh? Using your granddaughter as a vessel again?" Lord Chaos mused. "What do you want?"

"That is my question," Amaterasu replied. "What do you want here? If you dare raise your hand... you know the consequences, correct?"

"Heh..." Lord Chaos’ head suddenly flared with purple and blue flames, forming a smile across his featureless face. "Right, my bad. Well, kids will be kids. Come along now, Kireina."

"Daddy, are you afraid of her?" Kireina asked, clicking her tongue. "Maybe we should just destroy everything right now." freewebnøvel.com

"That’s not good for business, Kireina," Lord Chaos said. "And your mother... wouldn’t have wanted that. Though we remain enemies, there is a delicate balance—one I... don’t wish to break. Not yet."
