Chapter 1934: Saving Mother

-----

"Fifth Form: Echo – Dance of Emptiness!"

Elena spun, thrust, and slashed with her sword, carving through everything before her at lightning speed. The power of the void and emptiness surged through her veins, rendering Tartarus’s desperate defenses utterly meaningless.

Ding!

[You have learned the Skill: [Swordsmanship – Tier 1: Level 1/10]!]

[Another Similar Skill has been detected! Both Skills have merged!]

[You have created the Skill: [Supreme Sword Mastery – Tier 5: Level 1/50]!]

Elena’s swordsmanship suddenly overflowed with greater power. An invisible energy surged from her blade, multiplying her strength and attack speed more than tenfold.

"Amazing!"

She dodged the incoming branches and swung her sword again, channeling even more of the power of Emptiness. Her friends supported her fiercely—Anna and the Black Dragon unleashed magic and every attack they could muster, rapidly growing stronger as they learned new Skills.

In that moment, Elena committed fully.

"Sixth Form – Blade of Emptiness!"

A colossal sword of Emptiness erupted into the sky like a pillar of pure white nothingness. Tartarus’s eyes widened in disbelief.

At the same time...

Ding!

[You have awakened the Talent: [Vessel of Emptiness (EX)]!]

[Your talent [Sword Master (SSS)] has evolved into [Sword King (EX)]!]

Merely by revealing her true potential, the System rapidly adapted to her power and granted her new talents and skills based on what she had already accomplished. This, in turn, amplified her strength even further.

With her two new Talents elevating her swordsmanship to near god-like levels, Elena poured her very soul into her next swing—all thanks to the Spiritual Soul Spell she had learned from her mother, which allowed her to infuse and manipulate her soul into objects.

Thus...

Elena cut through Tartarus, merging her Emptiness and her Soul as one.

SLAAAASH!

"G-GAAAAH?!"

Tartarus screamed as Elena’s soul invaded her own. In that instant, Elena found herself standing within the vast Soul Sea inside Elayne’s Spiritual Core.

Her eyes widened at the sight of her mother’s immense soul sea and the several egos within it.

A giantess formed of mountains, forests, and life itself rested with her eyes closed, wrapped in chains of golden light.

"Gaia."

A deep, formless shadow with sharp red eyes glared at her with pure hatred, its black chains broken and darkness leaking everywhere.

"Tartarus."

And deeper still, within an abyss born from her mother’s soul, lay something Elena had never seen before: a red cube wrapped in divine chains. Darkness and blood energy continuously leaked from it, feeding Tartarus’s existence.

"W-What is that?"

Finally, the smallest figure of all—a woman in her mid-thirties—hung suspended from both black and golden chains. The black chains spread darkness through her body, steadily overwhelming her light.

Elena recognized her instantly.

"Mom!"

Without hesitation, she rushed forward and hugged her tightly, gently waking her.

"E-Elena?"

"Mom! Are you okay?!"

"I... am not okay... ugh...! I had to seal that powerful being inside my soul... it was going to kill you all...!"

"Eh?!"

"It was so strong... there was no other way..."

"But Mom! We have to do something—Tartarus is controlling you!"

"I..."

Elayne was too exhausted to think clearly, but Elena hugged her tighter, tears streaming down her face.

"Please, Mom! Don’t leave me!"

As she cried, her spiritual roots activated, flowing into Elayne and returning all the vitality and teachings her mother had given her. Elayne’s eyes widened as countless visions of her life since giving birth to Elena flooded her mind, accompanied by a powerful surge of her daughter’s cultivated spiritual energy.

"ENOUGH...! YOU WILL ALL DIE NOW!"

Tartarus roared and reached for them. Elayne clenched her teeth and touched Gaia, drawing on her power.

"Gaia, please lend me your strength!"

Gaia slowly opened her eyes, which shone like two radiant suns. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com

"But you lack the power and... Oh?"

Gaia, who had been about to refuse, noticed another presence within the Soul Sea.

Elena.

And above all, a strange blue crystal spreading mysterious circuits throughout the space.

"Well, well... It seems you are slowly becoming something more than a mere Heroic Spirit. Perhaps for the first time in history, Elayne."

Gaia smiled. Her power surged as the golden chains binding her shattered, releasing immense primordial energy.

"Fine. Take it."

Elayne nodded, overflowing with new strength. The chains around her also shattered as she rushed toward Tartarus, her daughter still holding her tightly.

"Elena! Use your strongest technique!"

"But...!"

"Don’t worry. We’ve got this!"

"...Yeah!"

Elena nodded. She manifested her katana from her very soul and unleashed her strongest technique with a single thought.

"Empty Blade Arts – Heaven’s Sword!"

Elayne grasped the blade as well. Mother and daughter roared together as the giant white sword—formed from both their souls—surged with overwhelming power.

"W-What is that?!"

Tartarus screamed, too slow to react.

The sword sliced through his body, splitting him in half.

SLAAASH!

"G-GAAAAH?! I-IMPO...! IMPOSSIBLE!!!"

To his utter disbelief, Tartarus was cleaved in two. Both halves exploded into darkness and blood.

BOOOMMM!!!

His fragments slowly dissolved into the Soul Sea, unable to maintain a strong enough ego to control Elayne any longer.

"We did it, Mom!" Elena cried, tears of joy flowing freely.

"Yes, we did," Elayne smiled warmly. "Thank you, Elena... for never giving up on me!"

Elayne wept as she hugged her daughter tightly and kissed her. A brilliant white light enveloped them both.

When they opened their eyes again, they had returned to the chaotic battlefield. Anna, the Black Dragon, and Yasuke fought desperately to protect them, but they were worn down and bleeding. Olivia looked exhausted, and Rider flickered at her side, low on mana.

Dozens of Nightmares and Vengeful Spirits surrounded them, summoned by Berserker, who rode a massive boar-like Nightmare.

"It’s time for all you sinners to perish in the name of God!"

Elayne narrowed her eyes. Berserker’s power did not feel entirely his own. Someone—something—from above was aiding him.

Her Spiritual Senses expanded, and she quickly discovered the truth: a Spirit Core Fragment of another Heroic Spirit resided within Berserker’s core.

"I see. So this is how you became so strong, Berserker."
