Chapter 6: Chapter 6: Luna Breaks the Rules

Leo gave Amelia a smug side-eye first, then flashed a mischievous grin as he locked eyes with Stephanie beside him. "My ability boosts my physical attributes."

"As long as my ’third leg’ is engorged, all my stats get a hundred percent boost. My height and weight scale up proportionally too."

He lightly took Stephanie’s hand. "Dear, when we run into enemies later, I’ll probably need you to help activate my talent."

"You know what I mean. A man can’t just wake up with it like that."

Stephanie caught on instantly, her face flushing bright red. She quickly snatched her hand back. "Pervert!"

Snort!

Kevin couldn’t help but laugh at Leo’s shameless words.

Just as he remembered from his past life, Leo’s talent really was this one.

Technically, Leo didn’t even need a woman to get that "buff" going. He could just use his hand.

The real kicker was that Leo left out the side effect.

Based on past-life intel, the "Arousal" talent did give a full hundred percent boost when active, but once it went soft, all stats would crash by fifty percent.

It was powerful with great burst potential, but how long it lasted depended entirely on the user’s stamina.

Kevin knew all too well that Leo had worn out his "third leg" from overindulging in his past life.

Don’t expect him to last ten minutes in a fight. Hell, a minute might be a stretch.

Meanwhile, Amelia stood frozen in front of Leo, looking deeply awkward.

Not knowing whether to stay or leave, she turned to Stephanie instead to change the subject. "Miss, what about your awakened talent?"

Stephanie hesitated for a second, embarrassment flashing across her face before she masked it with her voice. "My talent is a bit unique. It’s called ’Crafting Resources’."

"I can produce multiple bottles of vitamin pills that were on my person before I was transported here. Three bottles a day."

At this news, everyone’s faces lit up with excitement.

They were in a horror survival voyage.

On a ship, nutrient deficiency was the easiest way to go down.

With Stephanie producing those convenient vitamin pills every day, they could avoid a lot of preventable illnesses.

Leo was already at Stephanie’s side in an instant, buzzing with excitement. "Honey, you’re amazing! With you around, we won’t have to worry about malnutrition on these waters!"

Stephanie gave a nervous chuckle. "Then you’ll have to protect me."

She didn’t forget to shoot a disdainful glance at Kevin. "And you. You’ll have to take orders from me from now on, or don’t even think about getting a single pill out of me."

Kevin just rolled his eyes.

According to his past-life memories, Stephanie’s talent did involve crafting, but she wasn’t making vitamins.

She was producing long-acting contraceptive pills!

If they ate those like vitamins, it would cause serious problems!

"Keep your fertility-ruining pills for yourself," Kevin muttered, rolling his eyes before turning and heading straight for the ship’s cabin.

That completely set Stephanie off.

She stomped her foot hard and pointed at his back. "Just wait until you’re starving, malnourished, and covered in sores! Let’s see how tough you’ll be then!"

Kevin didn’t bother with Stephanie. He just brushed past her and quickly ducked into the cabin.

Leo watched Kevin’s retreating figure vanish from the deck, then spoke softly in reassurance. "No need to get mad at some washed-up loser. I overheard your whole exchange with Officer Amelia earlier."

"A simp with an intel talent doesn’t stand a chance of surviving on these waters on his own."

"Sooner or later, he’ll be on his knees begging us for food, water, and shelter. When that happens, we’ll teach him his place."

Stephanie clenched her fists tightly, her voice icy. "By then, I’ll be stomping on his face and making him lick my boots!"

Amelia had been listening the whole time, her expression darkening. "Mr. Leo, Ms. Stephanie, I need to remind you two: we’re facing life-threatening danger every single moment."

"Before you go around bullying Mr. Kevin, think about it. We might actually need his intel ability to stay alive."

Stephanie sneered at the warning. "Simp? That loser can’t even keep his legs when he sees a woman. My sister had him completely wrapped around her finger, and he’ll happily play her simp."

"Even though she’s not here, I’m far more beautiful than her, and my figure’s a lot better."

"All I have to do is show a little charm, and Kevin will be begging at my feet in no time."

"Getting his intel will be as easy as breathing for me."

Amelia rolled her eyes. "Ms. Stephanie, you are definitely beautiful. But I don’t think Mr. Kevin is the type to let lust cloud his judgment."

Turning her head, she looked toward Luna. "After all, that lovely lady just practically threw herself at him, and he didn’t take advantage of her in the slightest."

At that comment, Luna let out a cold snort. She turned on her heel and followed Kevin into the cabin.

While the others still bickered on deck, Kevin was already standing in front of the ship’s only captain’s quarters.

He’d quickly mapped out the cabin layout earlier.

Besides the mess hall, dining room, kitchen, warehouse, and the two four-bunk crew quarters, the captain’s cabin was the only private suite on board.

Kevin pushed the door open. Inside, it had a bedroom, living area, study, and a private bathroom.

In the corner of the living room, a small balcony door led straight down to the helm. freēwebnovel.com

Kevin glanced at the slightly dated furnishings and nodded silently. "It’ll do for a few days. Once we gather enough resources, I’ll upgrade this rust bucket."

"First, I need to secure control of the ship before those idiots realize what’s happening."

With that, Kevin climbed the balcony stairs straight into the helm.

He strode to the ship’s wheel, took a swig from a cola bottle in one hand, and grabbed the wheel with the other, giving it a sharp turn.

As the wheel spun, the sailing ship that had been drifting with the current suddenly surged forward, picking up speed.

At the exact same moment, a familiar system prompt chimed in the ears of every crew member on board.

On deck, Amelia, Leo, and Stephanie all froze in shock upon realizing Kevin had automatically become their captain.

"Damn it! How does he get to be captain?"

"He’s not qualified. I’m voting him out!"

Leo cursed under his breath and sprinted toward the elevated helm.

Stephanie followed close behind, her eyes burning with equal resentment.

Watching them march away, Amelia sighed silently. "I thought they needed my leadership. Turns out they’re completely falling apart..."

She glanced up at Kevin standing at the helm and quietly started walking up the stairs to catch up.

Meanwhile, Luna stood outside the helm door, her hands gripping the handle, frustration clearly etched on her face.

If Kevin hadn’t beaten her to it, who would’ve most likely claimed the captain role?

Naturally, herself!

But he’d somehow snatched the only captain slot right out from under her.

On top of that, Luna considered Kevin’s talent pathetically weak.

"How does someone like him qualify to be captain?"

Luna let out a sharp breath and shoved the door open.

But the moment her right foot touched the floor of the helm, a chilling, oppressive weight slammed over her entire body.

Inside, Kevin was busy studying the ship’s navigation controls.

Sensing her footsteps, he glanced up, a faint smirk tugging at his lips. "Miss Luna, according to the rules just displayed, you entered the helm without my permission. You broke the rules."
