Chapter 35: Chapter 35: The Eye of Tarot

Kevin slept better than usual. He only woke up when a "scan complete" chime sounded in his ear.

The moment his eyes opened, a highly detailed blueprint for a drone appeared before him.

[Mechanical Sovereign: Kevin]

[Blueprints Mastered: Sail and Steering Mechanism, 9mm Pistol Ammunition, Glock 19 Semi-Automatic Pistol, Falcon Open-Frame Rotorcraft UAV]

[Mechanical Followers: None]

[Production Workshop: Empty]

[Resource Vault: 50 kg Wood, 75 kg Iron Ingots, 60 kg Copper Ingots, 50 kg Resin, 60 kg Rubber, 240 kg Plastic, 200 kg E-Waste]

Kevin sank his focus into the depths of his soul.

In the central square of the Mechanical Kingdom, four stone steles stood in neat rows, each projecting its own separate 3D structure that showed the four blueprints he had already mastered.

He walked up to the stele holding the drone blueprint. The stele listed the materials needed for production in detail.

[Mechanical Structure: Falcon Open-Frame Rotorcraft UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)]

[Required Parts: Flight Power System, Navigation and Control System, Remote and Imaging Sensing System, Airframe and Gimbal...]

[Raw Material Needs: 0.35 kg Lithium Battery, 0.15 kg Resin, 0.15 kg Silicon Blocks, 0.15 kg E-Waste, 0.1 kg Iron Ingots, 0.1 kg Copper Ingots, 0.1 kg Plastic]

After reading the material list, Kevin grinned.

Under normal circumstances, the heaviest parts of a drone are the battery and the main frame.

But because of the "Mechanical Sovereign" Talent, he could control nearby machinery and make it run on its own, without needing any power source or engine system.

This meant that as long as he wanted to, he could control dozens or even hundreds of drones at the same time, having them circle around him to form a massive drone swarm.

The most important part was that without the weight of a battery, the drones he controlled would far outmatch any commercial drone in speed, responsiveness, and stealth.

Kevin exited the Mechanical Kingdom, bringing his focus back to reality.

He pushed himself up, rolled his neck, and drove away the last bit of tiredness.

Just then, a string of alert tones rang in his ears.

Kevin opened the system panel and immediately saw a message from Celula and Monchhichi: "Kevin, we’re about to get caught by the ship behind us! Those Survivor fighters are tough, at least eight or nine of them. Do you still have any weapons we can use?"

Celula’s tone was full of urgency. Kevin glanced at Monchhichi’s message next: "The Survivor squad chasing us comes from an organization called ’The Eye of Tarot.’ Kevin, the weapons you gave us are only enough for self-defense. We can’t beat them back. If possible, future Captain, we are asking for more weapon support."

Kevin’s relaxed eyebrows instantly tightened.

He called Luna and Amelia over and shared both messages with them.

After hearing about Celula and Monchhichi’s situation, Luna’s face showed immediate anger. "It’s those damn human traffickers again! They deserve to die!"

Seeing how worked up she was, Kevin immediately got curious.

Amelia saw his confusion and explained, "The Eye of Tarot is an underground group that’s been around for two hundred years. Their whole job is supplying women and slaves to elites from all over the world."

"Especially some nobles. They’re into dark cult rituals and often buy young girls from The Eye of Tarot."

"Some girls end up as playthings, some are used for sacrifices, and some even... become food for these brutal men."

Kevin felt a wave of nausea.

He took a deep breath and made up his mind: he was going to kill those bastards!

He pulled out a box of thirty Fireball rounds and six pieces of C-Tier gear that matched what Amelia and Luna were wearing, setting them in front of him. "Amelia, I’m out of Enchant uses. Please enchant these six pieces for me. I think our future teammates will need this support."

Amelia looked at the extra six pieces of gear, her expression turning a bit odd.

The gear was practically identical to what she was wearing herself.

They were the exact same pieces: the "Scale Garb of the Abyssal Sea Serpent," the "Bracelet of the Twisted Warlock," and the "Belt of the Pirate Captain."

The only difference was that these six pieces hadn’t gone through Purification enchanting yet.

Still, after a brief pause, Amelia focused and reached out, starting to carve Runes into the gear.

Pretty quickly, all six pieces were enchanted.

Kevin dropped them straight into the trade space and sent trade requests to Monchhichi and Celula.

At the same time, thirty nautical miles away.

Celula and Monchhichi stood at the stern, staring at the sailing ship less than a mile behind them with worried expressions.

"Monchhichi, at this speed, they’ll catch us in under two hours," Celula said, her expression growing heavier.

Monchhichi held up her binoculars, watching the distant ship closely.

Through the lens, she saw three Survivors standing at the bow. They were all broad-shouldered, looked fierce, with a knife in one hand and a gun in the other.

Seeing that kind of setup, Monchhichi sighed.

She lowered the binoculars, pulled out the Glock 19 Kevin had traded her, and shook her head. "They’re better than us in firepower, gear, and combat skill. If they catch us, I’m pretty sure jumping into the water is our only choice."

Hearing this, Celula’s face showed frustration. She slammed her fist against the railing next to her. "How is that guy still not here? It’s only thirty nautical miles away. Can’t he go any faster?!"

Monchhichi let out a short laugh. "I think he’s already going full speed. Right now, all we have to do is buy as much time as we can until he gets here."

She gave Celula a light pull. "Stop looking so down. Look on the bright side. If we make it through this, Kevin will see us as real fighters, not just pretty faces."

"By then, we’ll earn the right to be his partners through our own skills, instead of just being his playthings and followers because of our looks and bodies."

Celula just shrugged, a bit helpless. "That guy hasn’t even replied to messages for eight hours now."

"If I couldn’t feel him closing the distance fast, I’d start wondering if he’s just lying to us."

While grumbling, she tapped open her message channel.

What came into view was a long line of trade requests.

She opened the trade list, staring at the endless array of gear, ammo, and weapon names. She was completely stunned.

"Monchhichi! Monchhichi! Look at this, am I seeing things?" Celula sent a screenshot of the list to Monchhichi.

Monchhichi saw it and froze on the spot like a statue.

About thirty seconds later, she suddenly exhaled sharply, her voice hoarse. "I remember... we just asked him for weapon support. But he gave us all this? Isn’t that way too much?"

Celula finally snapped back to reality, rolling her eyes and grumbling, "With all these weapons, I feel like I could wipe out that whole ship behind us by myself."

With that said, she clicked through the trade requests one by one and accepted them all.

Within moments, the inbox filled with a Glock 19, two boxes of Fireball Enchant rounds, two titanium combat knives and daggers, four bottles of Holy Spring, four bottles of Bloody Holy Spring soaked in Eldritch Eyes, and six C-Tier gear pieces...

Kevin had essentially dumped every piece of gear he had on the table for the two sisters.

It wasn’t until they received the last piece of gear that the twin sisters suddenly snapped out of it and remembered to thank Kevin.

But at this moment, Kevin had already left the trade channel.

He was standing at the helm of his ship, fully focused on steering.

Just as he had just given Celula and Monchhichi double the weapon support, he had quietly started the Production Workshop inside the Mechanical Kingdom. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

For replicable weapons like the Glock 19 and the titanium combat knives and daggers, Kevin had already queued up production.

By the time Kevin met up with Monchhichi and Celula, the guns and items he had sent would already have two extra sets freshly produced.

Just as the three of them pushed the sailing ship forward at full speed...

Inside the four-person sailor dorm, Leo slowly opened his eyes.

After enduring the humiliation and near-death terror of the previous night, he sat up in a daze and looked around the room.

Suddenly, he noticed Stephanie’s luggage had been packed away and taken.

He clenched his fist, a look of hatred crossing his lips, then leaned forward to check the corner of his bed.

The signal amplifier still lay quietly in the corner, its power light blinking.

Leo finally let out a breath. He opened his system panel and immediately contacted George: "How long until you catch up to my ship? I can’t wait anymore! I’m going to kill that damn Kevin right now. I want his head!"

George replied quickly: "Mr. Leo, we’ve been tracking your course. Here’s some good news: for some reason, your ship suddenly boosted its power this morning, so we expect to meet up in the waters ahead in under three hours."

Right after, George sent an image marking the exact coordinates where the two ships would cross paths in three hours.

Leo opened the image, studied it carefully, and a wide grin spread across his face. "Perfect. Don’t forget to pack a box of high-grade Vaseline. Once I take down Kevin, I’m going to personally give him an enema."
