Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Grinding Monsters Like Crazy

Kevin stood at the bow, his eyes cold. "An adult Fish Monster is at least five meters long. That guy is already an elite among them."

"When an elite Eldritch Entity dies, there’s a chance it will drop an Eldritch Artifact. And the first elite one you kill has a one hundred percent chance to drop one."

With that said, he raised his Wraith Revolver and opened fire on the Elite Fish Fiend in the water. fгeewebnovёl.com

Six Fireball rounds exploded on the water’s surface in a row. The Elite Fish Fiend was completely enraged and charged straight at the ship.

With a loud crash, the deck shook hard under Kevin’s feet.

"It’s ramming the ship!" Amelia shouted in panic.

Kevin stared coldly at the water. "We can’t let it keep damaging the ship, or it will sink."

He fired into the sky. Six shots rang out, and six dark vortexes appeared behind him.

Six Fish Monster spirits, each over two meters tall, rose from the vortexes. They knelt respectfully behind Kevin, waiting for orders.

Kevin looked at the nearby Elite Fish Fiend and said in a low voice, "Go. Drag it up here for me."

The six spirits took the order and jumped into the sea one after another.

The Elite Fish Fiend was surrounded by them. It roared in anger but couldn’t break through the attack.

With Kevin also firing at it from the bow every now and then, it was finally forced onto the deck.

The moment it stepped on the deck, the whole ship suddenly dipped hard.

Roaring in rage, the Elite Fish Fiend pushed off with its legs and shot toward Kevin like a cannonball.

Kevin sneered and activated The Fixing Gaze.

Four beams of red light shot out at once. The five-meter-long body of the Elite Fish Fiend froze in mid-air, completely still like a statue.

Seizing the chance, Kevin summoned the Lance of Longinus and drove it hard into its body. freeωebnovēl.c૦m

But the strike only left an unhealable hole in the Elite Fish Fiend. It didn’t kill it outright. Kevin frowned.

Suddenly, a wave of dizziness hit him, and his forehead throbbed.

The Elite Fish Fiend instantly broke free from The Fixing Gaze and was free again.

The last strike had almost killed it. It glared at Kevin with pure hatred and charged forward again.

Kevin raised the Lance of Longinus and engaged it in close combat.

Relying on his combat experience from his past life, he barely dodged several killing blows.

The Lance of Longinus was too dangerous to test. The Elite Fish Fiend held back, refusing to go all out. This gave Kevin plenty of room to maneuver.

But the Elite Fish Fiend’s physical stats were just too broken.

When Kevin only got lightly grazed by it, he was knocked backward like a cut kite and crashed into a pile of debris on the deck.

Taking the chance, the Elite Fish Fiend looked up at Luna and Amelia standing at a higher spot. It roared, gave up the chase, and turned to rush at the two girls.

In a panic, both girls raised their guns and fired. But after they used up their Fireball rounds, normal bullets were completely useless against the Elite Fish Fiend.

Just as they were about to lose their lives, a red beam shot out from the deck again. It covered the Elite Fish Fiend and pinned it in mid-air.

Kevin stood up from the debris, waved his hand, and tossed the Wraith Revolver to Amelia. "Aim for its head. Empty the magazine!"

Amelia caught the pistol without any delay and immediately raised it to fire.

The raging fireballs exploded loudly. The Elite Fish Fiend was shrouded in blinding light, its whole body wrapped in thick flames.

When the fire died down, the Elite Fish Fiend’s body had been burned to charcoal.

Only at that moment did Kevin let go of The Fixing Gaze.

Without any limit, the Elite Fish Fiend’s body broke into six or seven pieces and dropped onto the deck.

A sharp ringing sound caught Kevin’s attention.

He didn’t rush over to check it. Instead, he turned to Amelia, who was still stunned, and said, "Don’t just stand there. Go check the loot."

Amelia snapped back to reality. She still looked a bit shocked, but she quickly pulled herself together.

She quickly ran down from the higher spot and rushed to the Elite Fish Fiend. She started digging through the remains with her bare hands.

Pretty quickly, something glowing caught her eye.

[Deep Ones’ Small Horn: B-Tier Eldritch Artifact. Can be attached to weapons to boost kinetic damage by 100%.]

Amelia picked up the B-Tier Eldritch Artifact. Right then, a notification chimed in Kevin’s ear.

[Detected covenant-bearer "Amelia" has acquired one B-Tier Eldritch Artifact: "Deep Ones’ Small Horn".]

[Reimbursement process started...]

[Reimbursement rate: 12x...]

[You have been awarded twelve B-Tier Eldritch Artifacts: "Deep Ones’ Small Horn".]

Kevin looked at the twelve artifacts neatly lined up in his system bag. A huge grin spread across his face.

It worked just as he thought. When Amelia killed Eldritch Entities, the dropped loot got multiplied too. This was perfect.

He was already plotting his next move. He could use this cheat to hunt Eldritch non-stop and double the rewards. It was a dream.

Just as he was lost in thought, Amelia walked over and handed the Wraith Revolver back. "You were pretty reckless just now. What if Luna and I missed the catch?"

Kevin grinned and lifted the Lance of Longinus in his hand. "Then I’d have to throw a javelin instead."

With that, he tossed the Wraith Revolver, reloaded it in one smooth motion, and fired a shot into the sky.

A three-meter-wide vortex suddenly tore open behind him. The wraith of the Elite Fish Fiend Amelia had just killed stepped out of it.

A massive shadow loomed over the three of them, heavy with pressure. But since its soul was sealed inside the Wraith Revolver, it could only follow Kevin’s commands.

"Go. Drive some weaker Fish Fiends onto the deck." Kevin handed Luna and Amelia two more boxes of ammo. "Keep fighting. Try to drop another Eldritch Artifact."

With the Elite Fish Fiend’s help, the three stood at the bow and took turns shooting down the Fish Fiends that climbed aboard.

Within just a few hours, the deck was already piled high with Fish Fiend corpses.

Up in the steering cabin, Stephanie’s hands were bound. She couldn’t move an inch.

She dragged herself over to the window, trying to get a look at the fight on the deck.

When she finally pressed her face close to the glass, she was completely stunned by what she saw.

The deck, which had been spotless and new earlier that day, was now covered with craters and gouges.

Just the holes left by the Fireball rounds alone numbered over a dozen.

Dark green blood was everywhere. The Fish Fiend corpses were scattered all over the deck.

Just counting the bodies in front of them, there were at least twenty. And every now and then, new Fish Fiends would rush onto the deck, only to be taken out by Luna and Amelia.

Seeing the scene, Stephanie felt dizzy. She sucked in a sharp breath and trembled as she said, "T-this... could three people really do this?"

Just as she was overthinking it, a splash broke the water. The five-meter-tall Elite Fish Fiend quickly jumped onto the deck and stood respectfully next to Kevin, like a loyal henchman.

Seeing this, Stephanie was completely stunned. "Kevin... he can actually control Eldritch Entities now?"

The way Kevin, Luna, and Amelia handled the night left Stephanie utterly shocked.

She just couldn’t wrap her head around it. Just a day ago, everyone was at the same starting line as Survivors. How could such a huge gap form in just one night?

A strong urge for power took over Stephanie’s heart. She wished with all her might that she was the one standing on the deck, fighting side by side with Kevin.

"Kevin! You’re only mine!" Stephanie gritted her teeth, quietly walked back to the corner, and opened the global chat.

Right now, the entire global chat was in total chaos.

Most Survivors never expected that after surviving the deadly trial of the first night, they would face Eldritch Entity attacks again on the second night.

"Damn it, I was just taking a leak when a headless Eldritch chased me for thirty minutes with scissors! It nearly scared me to death!"

"Anyone selling a decent weapon? My baseball bat was just taken by an Eldritch, and it’s still chasing me down."

"Hell, why are ships still getting hit by Eldritch Entities on the second day? If this keeps up, who’s going to survive and make it out of these waters?"

...

Stephanie looked at the fast-moving wall of text. More than half of the Survivors turned their avatars black and white not long after they posted.

She knew for sure now: if it weren’t for Kevin’s protection, she’d probably be facing the Eldritch Entities alone tonight too.

Thinking of this, Stephanie silently sent out a long string of codes, then let out a sigh. "Please... I hope big sister can see my message."
