Chapter 9: Trapped Inside

When Hina and the others finally reached the temple—

It was already too late.

The temple had already been destroyed.

Broken stone walls and fire were spread everywhere.

Smoke still rose from the ruins.

Hina and the others immediately started searching for the children desperately.

Then—

Hina found someone trapped under a collapsed wall.

Part of his body was crushed beneath the heavy stones.

It was the temple guard.

"Hurry!" Hina shouted as she rushed toward him.

She immediately tried to move the broken wall away, and the others quickly joined her to help.

But the stone was too heavy.

"Stay with us! Don’t worry, we will save you!" Hina told him desperately.

The man gave a weak smile.

"Don’t... worry about me..." he said painfully.

"I know... my time has already come..."

"I can’t feel my body anymore... it was already broken when the wall fell..."

His breathing became weaker with every word.

"Just... save the children..."

"They ran... that way..."

"The orcs followed them..."

Hearing that, Hina quickly used her healing magic on him.

Soft light covered his body.

But nothing happened.

The injuries were too severe.

The man struggled to speak again. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

"If our land lord came to help... maybe everyone could survive..."

"But... he never considered people like us important..."

"You know... all the people in this village were abandoned long ago..."

His voice slowly faded.

Then he tried to say something one last time—

But no words came out.

His eyes slowly closed.

And his body stopped moving completely.

Hina froze there.

Her hands trembled as tears formed in her eyes.

The others standing nearby lowered their heads silently.

But there was no time to mourn.

Hina slowly stood up again.

Then she looked toward the direction the children had escaped.

Without another word—

Everyone immediately ran that way.

On another side—

Arya was still trapped inside the box.

He continued trying to push it open quietly.

His small body struggled against the heavy boxes stacked around him.

He could easily destroy the box using his skill.

But if he did that—

The sound would alert the goblin monsters immediately.

Then Arya finally managed to move the box a little.

A small gap opened between the stacked boxes.

Because he was still a child, his tiny body barely managed to fit through the narrow space.

It was difficult, but his small size helped him escape quietly before any goblin monsters noticed him.

After coming out, Arya quickly looked around the hall.

The place was massive.

Boxes were stacked everywhere like a giant storage room.

Wooden shelves, carts, and supplies filled the entire area.

Then Arya slowly walked toward the door.

First, he carefully opened it a little to look outside.

When he checked the cave hallway—

No one was there.

Arya quietly stepped outside.

Then he started moving deeper into the cave while staying close to the wall.

But suddenly—

He heard footsteps coming from the front side.

Arya’s expression changed immediately.

He quickly tried to move back and hide again.

But then—

He heard more footsteps from behind him too.

That meant someone was coming from both directions.

A few seconds later—

Goblin monsters appeared from the front and back hallways, slowly walking toward his position.
