Chapter 19: Blue Demon Eyes Bloodline
Boom!
A wind blade came flying from behind and hit the land, creating a deep scar on the ground, creating a line.
"Don’t move!" A voice echoed, and with a gust of wind, two figures suddenly appeared right in front of them.
Max, Andrew and Mathew stopped in their tracks and quickly became alert as they watched the two figures that suddenly appeared with grave expressions. They didn’t need to guess; they knew these two should be from the Blackthorn family.
But they didn’t expect someone to catch up with them this quickly.
The two figures were none other than Sol and Ace. Taking advantage of the chaos spreading through the Myriad Beast Mountains and Sol’s incredible speed, they had finally intercepted Max’s group.
Sol and Ace looked at Max and the two brothers, but their main focus was only on Max, as he was the target.
Ace looked at Max with a creepy and ridiculous smile filled with excitement as he saw the crimson draconic aura around him through his eyes.
Max instantly noticed the deep and crazy gaze on him. He felt jolted, as anyone would feel super uncomfortable seeing a guy looking at him with such a ferocious gaze, like he was a wild animal in heat.
"I am not into men." After a moment of silence, he said, instinctively looking at Ace.
Hearing this, whether it was Andrew, Mathew or Sol, their eyes twitched, and they couldn’t help looking at Ace, who also seemed to be surprised. But he quickly calmed, and a creepy smile appeared on his face.
"Yeah, it seems you are quite an interesting one, but then it would be more fun to play with you." He didn’t care much, as he had found his prey, and he was going to enjoy every moment of his hunt.
Max’s expression remained calm at Ace’s words, only making it creepier, and he felt he wasn’t simple, and usually those crazy psychos with twisted minds are the ones who are most dangerous.
He held the spear tightly; he knew he could not run now and had to face them. Andrew and Mathew also nodded as they locked onto Sol.
They understood this battle was going to be the most difficult one until now, as their enemies seemed quite strong.
Boom!
The small tornado seemed to appear, as Sol seemed to be the first one to make the move. Dust and leaves filled the air, obscuring everyone’s vision.
And then from behind, a short throwing dagger, tearing through the dust and smoke, came for his head.
Clang!
He instantly used the spear and deflected the dagger. But it didn’t end as two small daggers came from different sides.
He didn’t waste time; he used his blood control to boost himself, and with superior speed and reflexes, he deflected the two daggers with the spear.
Clang! Clang!
The dust cloud finally disappeared, and the battlefield divided into two sections. Sol led Andrew and Mathew away, isolating them from Max.
Ace looked calmly at Max; his eyes seemed to glow, and a smile appeared on his face.
"Interesting."
"Your aura suddenly increased. You became stronger almost instantly."
He tilted his head slightly. "A strengthening-type bloodline?"
He shook his head.
"No... There has to be more than that."
"Come, let’s see how good you are." Ace drew a dagger. Then, without warning, he lunged forward and attacked Max in close quarters. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Ace’s movements were ghostly, and it immediately surprised Max.
Clang! Clang!
Ace’s attack was erratic but seemed to contain profound mysteries. Max, with his superior speed and strength, barely stopped his attack.
He remained alert and carefully looked at every step of Ace. He clearly felt it wasn’t about speed even though he wasn’t moving too fast, but it seemed to have a mysterious rhythm.
Clang! Clang! Clang!...
Max tried his best, but he was on the defensive even when he was faster and stronger. Every movement of Ace was tricky, and more importantly, he seemed to see through his attack.
Every surprise strike, every sudden burst of speed and every feint. Ace saw through them all.
His glowing eyes seemed to pierce straight through him.
Finally, Ace smiled. "You are very fast and strong; I didn’t think anyone could overpower you within the awakened realm."
But your attacks... They’re messy, without structure and purpose."
He pointed the dagger toward Max. "You’re relying entirely on brute force."
His eyes gleamed with amusement. "You’re a complete novice, just like a wild animal who can only charge forward."
Hearing this, Max’s expression changed a bit as the enemies he faced became stronger; they started to become troublesome for him because of his inexperience.
Before he was able to overcome them with raw strength and speed, but this time it seems to be very difficult, as he from the beginning was going all out. And yet he seems to be the one getting pushed.
He looked at the Ace’s blue eyes and couldn’t help but feel uncomfortable, as those seemed to see through him perfectly. He clearly felt this weirdo was playing with him and even tried to truly hurt him at all.
From the perfect movements and control and the sense to judge every action and looking at those eyes, he can guess his bloodline power has something to do with his peculiar eyes.
’Maybe his eyes can see through his movements and let him have such a perfect fighting sense.’
In fact what he guessed was actually the truth. Ace possessed a rather unusual bloodline.
The ’Blue Demon Eyes’.
Although it was only a D-Rank bloodline, it granted extraordinary perception. It allowed its wielder to distinguish auras, analyse movements, and eventually see through attacks before they landed through hard training.
Against inexperienced opponents... It was a terrifying ability indeed. And because of this, Max was facing the most troublesome enemy in his current state.
