Chapter 2: 02: Death (2)
Dust, black water vapor, and blood mist covered the battlefield. After a few seconds, the dust slowly became thinner.
Lucard was still standing.
Nunet was still standing.
Between them, the blood ball and the dark water pressed against each other. The attacks hidden inside the dark water kept striking Lucard’s blood ball. Every time they struck, Lucard’s body shook. His bones cracked. More blood came from his mouth, but he did not step back.
"You cannot defeat me," Nunet said coldly. "Give me the Abyss class artifact."
Lucard looked at her and replied, "If I cannot have it, then you cannot have it either. I will make sure to kill all of you here."
The other eight gods laughed at him. One called him a dying dog. One said he was nothing in front of them together. Another spat on the ground and mocked his broken body.
Lucard did not respond to them. He focused everything on controlling his ultimate attack. Slowly, his blood ball started to take over Nunet’s dark water. One by one, the attacks of the other eight gods began to vanish inside the dark water. The plague mist disappeared first. Then the golden spears. Then the black lightning. Then the bone hands. The cosmic twister, the universe sized meteoroid, the sword slash, and the silver light all vanished one after another.
Every attack that vanished made Lucard’s blood ball bigger.
Nunet’s face finally changed. The dark water was being eaten.
Lucard’s body looked like it was about to fall apart, but his will did not break. He pushed harder. At last, the blood ball destroyed all the attacks inside the dark water. Then Lucard used the last strength in his broken body and threw the blood ball toward the nine gods.
The eight gods were caught in the middle.
Only Nunet reacted fast enough. Her body turned into black water, and she escaped toward the edge. But she was not fast enough to fully leave the attack.
The blood ball exploded.
The eight gods in the middle died instantly. Their chaos bodies dissolved. Their divine particles vanished. Their laws broke apart and disappeared from Null. The Earth God, Air Goddess, Sword God, Thunder God, Bone Goddess, Plague Mother, Spear Lord, and Moon Devourer all died inside the red explosion.
Nunet survived, but she was injured. Half of her dark water body was damaged, and red cracks burned across her form. But her injuries were not enough to stop her. She could still fight.
Lucard had nothing left.
His chaos energy was gone. His divinity was gone. His immortal power was gone. His body had cracks everywhere, and he was breathing heavily. He knew he was going to die here.
But he could not let Nunet take the artifact.
The Abyss class artifact was still near him, covered by a thin layer of his blood. Lucard tried to destroy it. If he could not have it, then nobody would. But he was late by the smallest moment.
Nunet charged at him.
Her dark water became a blade, and she cut off the arm holding the artifact. Lucard felt terrible pain, but he did not scream. His severed arm flew away, and Nunet pulled the artifact into her dark water.
Lucard looked at her with cold eyes. He had only one option left.
There was one skill he had never used before. It was called Blood Reincarnation. With it, he could send his soul to one universe below Null and be reborn there. For a god, this was almost shameful. It meant becoming weak. It meant starting again. But dying here without revenge was worse. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
Lucard thought about activating the skill.
Blood Reincarnation.
At that moment, Nunet moved again. She created a dark water blade and swung it at his neck.
Lucard’s head flew into the air.
His head rolled in a full circle while flying. He saw his own body still standing in the same place. Blood sprayed from his neck and flew across Null. Although his head had been cut off, his blood regeneration could still save him. It only needed one second.
But that one second was stolen. The blood race arrived.
They were Lucard’s subordinates and creations. They were not born from nothing like gods. Lucard had created them with his own blood. He gave them bodies, hunger, and the power to grow by absorbing blood. They were supposed to be loyal to him.
But they did not come to help him. They came because they saw a chance.
The Blood God was weakened. His head was cut off. His blood was everywhere. His body was still standing, full of the most powerful blood in existence. To the blood race, this was not a tragedy. It was a feast.
The strongest among the blood race rushed forward. One tore into Lucard’s chest. Another bit into his severed arm. Another drank from the blood spraying out of his neck. More came and started tearing and eating the Blood God’s body.
Lucard saw everything as his head flew through the air. His own creations were eating him.
That made him angry more than Nunet’s attack. Lucard was ruthless. He was cruel. He was not a kind god. But he never imagined his own blood race would devour him the moment he fell.
One of them laughed while drinking his blood. Another shouted that the Father’s blood was too powerful to waste. A third one even cried while eating, as if crying made betrayal less disgusting.
Lucard wanted to kill them all. He wanted their blood to remember who created them.
But his strength was gone. His body was being eaten. His vision was turning dark. The Blood Reincarnation had already started pulling his soul away from Null.
That was the last thing he remembered.
Nunet holding the Abyss class artifact. His blood race tearing apart his body. His own blood spreading across Null. Then his mind and eyes went black.
Everything disappeared.
When Lucard’s awareness returned, he was in a place where there was nothing but darkness.
