Chapter 285: Birthday Villa
A short walk later, the group arrived over at Anna’s owned villa, and what a sight it was.
The villa towered over the landscape, its ornate architecture standing out against the clear blue sky.
It was three stories high. Taller than Rock’s villa. It had a spacious patio overlooking the ocean, white-painted walls, and large windows that let in plenty of natural light.
"...How much did this cost?"
Aella whispered under her breath.
"My father purchased it for my birthday. He thought it was good if I got more sunlight."
Anna said.
While she did enjoy colder environments more, she did sometimes visit the 6th floor to take the edge off and spend time at her villa.
’Her father did? Just how rich is their family?’
Aella thought in a shock and looked at Fang Raon and wondered whether he had a villa of his own somewhere.
She also started to wonder whether his wealth was what attracted Chaewon towards him in the first place, but she immediately shook her head.
She didn’t think that Chaewon was such a hollow woman, and from what she could see, she genuinely seemed to love him.
It was obvious if you just looked at the way Chaewon was looking at Raon. It was obvious there were deep feelings.
"Take your shoes off at the patio. I don’t want y’all to dirty the floors inside."
Anna whipped her hair back, took her shoes off at the patio, and then opened the front door with the key.
Everyone else stored their shoes inside their inventory.
Click~! The door opened, and they were welcomed with the sight of a grand inside of the villa that took their breath away.
The kitchen was at the back. Spacious living room. The staircase was at the opposite end of the room, leading to the second and third floors.
The railing of the second and third floors was facing the entrance, so from here, they could see if someone was walking on the second and third floors.
And from what they could see, there were about three or four rooms on the second and third floors each.
"My room is on the third floor, the first door on the right. You all can choose any other room, but don’t make a mess."
Anna said angrily, and she then put the key back in her pocket and walked back outside to sit on the patio.
She looked towards the star-sparkling ocean, feeling the cold wind of the night blowing against her beautiful face.
"I’ll have a talk with my sister. Go choose your room."
Fang Raon said to Chaewon, but she looked at him mischievously and nodded.
There was something about her look... She was plotting something.
Raon failed to notice her wicked grin and walked out of the front door and saw his little sister sitting over on the right side.
"Mind if I sit with you?"
He asked.
With a pout, Anna crossed her arms and kept sitting silently, but she didn’t say no, which meant that it was fine.
Probably.
"I was with Raizen a week ago."
Fang Raon sat across from her and saw Anna’s eyebrow jump, as she was clearly surprised by the reveal.
She didn’t remember the last time that Raon and Raizen did anything together. It might have been actually the first time ever.
"...And?"
Anna asked.
"You know the guild politics better than I do. What I say will stay with you, right?"
Fang Raon asked.
"...Of course."
Anna said.
"It looks like Raizen is planning to assassinate Leon with Rook."
Fang Raon said with a serious look on his face.
"What?"
Anna looked genuinely surprised, and she sat upright in her seat.
"I see... That time has come, huh."
She then said, as if she expected it to happen sooner or later, and her reaction surprised Raon quite a bit.
"You expected it?"
Fang Raon asked in surprise.
"It’s what most top guilds have been anticipating for months now. Dead Redemption, as a guild, simply does not work.
"Leon invited all the strongest of their respective classes to be his subordinates, but do you really think that they are satisfied with being just that?
"They all have their own ambitions, and following Leon forever is not that. Their partnership has worked so far as they wanted to create a gap between them and the rest of the player base.
"Dead Redemption, undoubtedly, is the ruler of the tower. They’ve reached the highest floor. But that was never going to last."
Anna said.
Fang Raon crossed his arms.
"I did take a bet with my guild members that Rook will be the one to make the first move. It looks like I am only half-correct.
"I did not expect Raizen to work with him."
Anna said.
"So, Leon is anticipating an assassination?"
Fang Raon asked with a frown.
If that was the case, Raizen was going to be in a lot of trouble, but Raon also knew that his brother wasn’t some fool.
"Probably not. They’ve only reached the 57th floor. It’s not that high up. If someone tried to assassinate Leon, it would’ve been better to do it over at the 90th floor."
Anna said.
"They don’t want to wait any longer because Leon is getting closer to level 8. If he reaches that, Raizen doesn’t think they can catch up."
Fang Raon said.
"That makes sense."
Anna nodded.
"What do you think will happen if they succeed in the assassination or if they fail? Give me your theories."
Fang Raon said.
"If they succeed, it will be a huge incident in the tower. Killing a member of the guild is taboo already, but to kill the guild leader...
"Raizen and Rook will be really infamous, but it doesn’t seem like they care about that, as they just want to get rid of him.
"If they succeed in the assassination, Dead Redemption will fall apart. The members of the Dead Redemption will go in their separate ways, and the race to the top of the tower will be reset again.
"If they fail... I can’t imagine what will happen."
Anna said.
"Yesterday, Tower Announcement came. Dead Redemption had completed the 56th floor. They are now at the 57th floor.
"I think... It will happen on the 57th floor. That floor will be the changing point for the history of the tower, for better or worse."
Fang Raon said as he gazed at the sky.
He wished he could be there to witness it. The curiosity was killing him from inside.
Who knows, they might very well already be trying to assassinate Leon, right at this very moment, and he wouldn’t know.
In that moment.
Footsteps came from inside, and Chaewon and her friends walked out, seeing the two siblings have a talk.
"Did we interrupt something?"
Chaewon asked with a smile and then sat down beside Raon and put her head on his shoulder.
"No."
Fang Raon shook his head with a smile while Anna just rolled her eyes, and the rest sat down also.
"Since we’re joining as a party together, I think introductions are in order. My name is Kevin, and I was kind of the leader of our party." freewёbnoνel.com
Kevin said with a smile.
"...Not anymore."
Anna said rudely.
"Aha... Of course. I heard from Chaewon that Raon has a long history of being one, so I don’t mind forfeiting that position to him."
Kevin said with an awkward smile.
"You don’t mind, right?"
Chaewon asked, blinking her long-eyelashed eyes, looking very cute.
"I am fine with it."
Fang Raon shrugged his shoulders.
"My name is Aella. It is very nice to meet the two of you."
Aella bowed cutely with her short black hair in a bob cut that framed her face nicely. She had a sweet smile that made her appear even more adorable.
"Bobby."
The chubby kid said normally.
"M-Marina..."
Marina said nervously, as she was somewhat scared of Anna, as she was like a volcano threatening to erupt at any moment.
"...Anna."
Anna introduced herself somewhat quietly.
"I am Fang Raon. This is not my main character. I am Mage on this character, but my main character is over at the 12th floor, and he is a Warrior."
Fang Raon greeted everyone.
"If I may ask, why are you playing on two characters?"
Aella asked curiously.
To her, it felt like such a waste, as wouldn’t it make it slower and harder to level up his main character if he wasted his time on another character?
"I am just helping Anna to get back to the 27th floor. Because of... unfortunate circumstances, she happened to die and had to start all the way from the beginning again."
Fang Raon said.
"Ah, I see... Wait, 27th floor? You reached that high?"
Aella asked with a look of admiration as she looked at Anna.
"...I had reached the 50th floor."
Anna said with a scoff, and it shocked them all, as they had only heard legends about the 50th floor.
It felt like the 50th floor was a myth as it was just so high up. It was the halfway mark of the tower. They couldn’t even dream of getting that high up.
