In this world, one of the few things that I’ve learnt is that there is no time to feel.
Feelings? They can kill you, but I can’t live like that.
I was made like a river. I feel deeply, I love largely and I think deeply.
This is who I am, but right now, that part of me isn’t needed, and if I don’t move quickly, Sooin might pay for it.
Taesan storms into the room with his red eyes flashing like a warning sign, and suddenly, Jaemin is fighting for his life.
It all takes place within seconds, and I have never seen a sight more horrifying than this.
The taunting smirk on Jaemin’s face has been wiped off.
His back is against the wall, eyes bulging as he loses color, and his painted fingers are trying to take Taesan’s hands off him.
I mean to move forward and make Taesan stop, but I can’t move.
It’s like I’m rooted in place.
"Taesan...." I whisper the alpha’s name weakly, and he pulls Jaemin from the wall, slamming him right back so hard that I hear a sickening crack.
"Ugh!" Jaemin’s shout of pain reaches my ear and it pulls me out of the daze I’m stuck in.
Taesan is going to kill Sooin’s mother in the house that Sooin is in!
"Taesan!" I call in a firmer tone, but the alpha isn’t listening.
His muscles are threatening to burst out of his clothes with the brute strength he’s displaying.
Why...why does he look so beautiful to me?
"That’s right! Kill me! Kill me and pay for it" Jaemin laughs as the alpha punches him in the face.
"I won’t just kill you, Jaemin, I will make it hell for you" Taesan says in a strange voice. A voice that sounds deep and savage.
This is not the alpha that cooked for me. No. It’s not the alpha that struggled to play the carnival game with me...this is captain.
"Go ahead" Jaemin says, grinning up at Taesan with bloodied teeth.
It’s terrifying.
The omega looks more defiant than subdued, it’s almost as if he has a goal to force the alpha’s hand, like he wants Taesan to really do it.
Taesan smiles down at Roh Jaemin. In the smile it’s impossible not to see the madness waiting to surface.
He is really going to kill him.
"Go right ahead, alpha, my body is yours for the taking" Jaemin says and something snaps in me as I rush forward to stop Taesan.
"Stop!" I yell and the alpha freezes mid action.
"Why?" he asks me with a growl.
"Can’t you see? He’s setting you up!"
"I don’t care about that, let go Seoha" my alpha snarls at me.
If this was back in the days, rogue alpha tamers will be here to take Kang Taesan away. They will put a muzzle on his mouth and deem him feral.
My alpha looks and sounds like a feral beast.
"Don’t listen to him Sannie, go on! Kill me and let Taerin follow after me" Jaemin says and starts to laugh.
"What?" Taesan body lock under my touch and the reaction only makes Jaemin more...happy?
He throws his head back, laughing and laughing like he is having the time of his life despite being in pain.
"ROH JAEMIN!" Taesan roars in his face, picking Jaemin off the wall with so much force that he throws me backwards.
"KANG TAESAN!" Jaemin roars back, and Taesan throws him across the room in rage.
I lunge forward to stop Taesan from doing worse.
Jaemin’s arm is already broken, his face is bleeding, and his breath catches in his throat from the awkward way he is lying on the floor.
"Who is Taerin?" I ask Taesan gently and he pauses for a moment.
"My sister" the alpha responds through clenched teeth and I can’t stop the whimper that slips past my throat.
Why? Why can’t he just have a simple life? Why is there always something to threaten him with?
"You don’t even know Taerin noona" Jaemin spits out.
"Shut up" Taesan growls at the omega.
"He told me all about her within one week of meeting him, I’ve even met noona a lot of times, what about you? Hmm?" Jaemin keeps talking.
Taesan makes a move to attack him again but I hold him back, grabbing his arm and whimpering weakly.
"He’s not worth it" I whisper.
Jaemin is not worth his sister’s life...if Taesan hid her away from me, then he must really love her, right?

"San" I whisper Taesan’s name, still stopping the alpha from killing his former lover.
Jaemin knows him well, Jaemin knows his button, Jaemin knows his sister.

"Don’t" I whisper, holding Taesan back with my body.
I know I’m not strong enough to hold him back, but still, still I try to hold him back.
"I already have a text on timer, if I don’t go home in time to cancel it...well...bye-bye secret Kang" he says, voice getting weak with every word he says.
"Junho" Taesan says loudly and Junho steps out of the shadow.
I didn’t even realize he was here too...why didn’t he stop Taesan?
"Get this man out of here, see to it that nothing happens to my sister" he orders and Junho nods.
The silent beta gestures and three men also seem to materialize from nowhere.
This is real.
This is the captain’s world.
They lift the bleeding and laughing omega up from the floor. And when Jaemin is being taken out of sight, he drops his phone to the floor.
