Chapter 71: Chapter 71 Sweet Manipulation

Elara’s POV

"Thought what?" I landed and flicked Silas’s forehead, half-annoyed.

But seeing how badly his arm was hurt made me soften instantly.

"Thought you hated me." Tears rolled down his cheeks as he spoke.

I stared, speechless.

Tears really were a man’s ultimate weapon. And when a gorgeous man cried? Double the impact.

I pulled him close and whispered, "I like you."

"You’re just saying that," Silas sniffled pitifully, burying his face in my neck before biting my skin almost reflexively.

Every nerve in my body sparked. I should never have tried to comfort him. Now it was crystal clear.

Damn it—this is emotional manipulation.

He tore off his shirt to bandage his bleeding arm, then scooped me up with his good hand. The moment my feet left the ground, I wrapped my arms around his neck instinctively.

Silas carried me to the couch, settled down, and pulled me onto his lap. Heat flooded my cheeks. He grinned, trapped me in his arms, and his voice returned to its normal tone. "Help me."

"Beg me."

I lifted my chin defiantly, straddling his thighs. The sudden intimacy made us both flush.

I was stunned.

Help.

This is so... substantial.

"Please." Silas’s hands framed my face before he dropped his head to my chest. "Elara, it really hurts."

Hurts where? He needs to be more specific.

I was squirming, ready to escape—until Silas pulled me back, locking me firmly in his embrace.

His predatory stare pinned me down. Even with an injured hand, he wasn’t about to let me go. "Planning to run again?"

I fell silent.

Should I just hit him with Water Weave? Wait...

Help.

He bit my neck again.

My head spun. This skilled, dangerous rabbit—with that killer face—was trying to destroy me with a kiss.

Mid-afternoon

Weren’t we supposed to be treating his wounds?

I meant to push him away, but my hand met warm skin instead. I traced his solid triceps. He had an incredible body. My thoughts spiraled.

Shameless, showing off like that...

He’s definitely trying to seduce you. Look at those abs, that V-line, those adorable pink nipples...

I cursed myself silently. Was I even allowed to think that?

Stop pretending. You didn’t hesitate to climb through his hatch and didn’t resist when he kissed you. If you’re this worked up, then just take him.

All true—but I was a girl. Couldn’t I act a little modest?

Remember our skill?

Huh? What skill? I can’t recall. frёewebηovel.cѳm

Are you dense? Cooking! Savor this rabbit nice and slow. You catch my drift.

Stop.

I got it.

But right now, I could barely think straight.

"Let go. I’ll help you, okay?" I asked.

I was at my breaking point. Silas had zero shame.

What kind of innocent rabbit kisses someone like this? And sitting me on his lap? Like I’m some child?

I squeezed my eyes shut, hoping this was all a dream.

A proud, fierce woman trapped in a rabbit’s arms? How mortifying.

Silas said, "Be good."

"Ow—don’t bite my ear." I felt my strength drain away as he held me.

My fingers dug into Silas’s shoulder, nails piercing his flesh. Tears gathered at the corners of his eyes.

"Elara..." Silas’s voice was rough and low, hot breath washing over my ear. His lips grazed my lobe as he spoke. I buried my head even deeper.

"That’s not fair," I said.

Why are you breathing so hard when you talk?

Silas smiled, "Elara, we’re married. And I think if I satisfy you enough, I can keep you around longer."

He pressed my hand against his abs. When I froze and tried to pull back, he guided me to stroke up and down.

"You can only fool me once." I’d fallen for his looks and walked straight into his trap. But... touching him felt pretty amazing.

Silas smirked, his secret satisfaction now obvious. "Being stubborn isn’t attractive. This is much better."

Just then, the control panel’s voice announced, "Chamber Seven, Silas: Spirit collapse level decreased by 5 points. Current spirit collapse level: 54."

"Is it?" I murmured.

Silas nodded—but his ears shot straight up in pain.

My vines had pricked his open wound. Silas winced but held me even tighter. He clenched his teeth, suppressing a cry. A drop of blood hit the carpet. Sweat dotted his forehead. He smiled weakly, buried his face in my chest, and looked up at me with glassy eyes. "Elara... it hurts..."
