Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Washing the Little Rabbit’s Ears

He clearly had no intention of leaving.

Seeing his back was turned to her, Bai Su resignedly turned on the shower to rinse off.

Without turning his head, Yelias warned, "Don’t bend over. Don’t push yourself. Be careful not to tear your wounds." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

"Hiss..." His warning came too late.

Tears streamed down Bai Su’s face.

Yelias looked at her with a hint of helplessness. "Susu, do you need help?"

Bai Su froze for a moment, then suddenly realized what that strange feeling she had been ignoring was.

Yelias’s attitude toward her was too natural.

She had assumed his casual demeanor was because he was a doctor who had seen many patients.

But when he called her name, she was startled to realize that wasn’t it.

This sense of familiarity felt more like he had known her and been around her for a long time.

A flicker of light crossed Yelias’s eyes before he explained casually, "My apologies. Is calling you Susu too intimate? Grandpa mentions you to me every day, calling you Susu, and I picked it up without thinking."

Bai Su’s suspicion was dispelled. "It’s okay."

She hastily finished cleaning herself up in a flurry and approached him, feeling a bit awkward.

Yelias was still pouring something into the bathtub.

She was a little curious. "What are you pouring?"

Yelias replied, "A Healing Potion."

"Even though you have a Healing Superpower, we still need to prevent your wounds from getting infected. You tore yourself down there, didn’t you? I can smell blood."

Bai Su’s face instantly turned bright red.

’His sense of smell didn’t need to be *that* good.’

He raised a hand and gently pinched one of Bai Su’s small rabbit ears. "Squat down."

Bai Su nodded frantically. As she squatted, her legs gave out, and she flopped onto the floor, accidentally bumping her head against his knee.

She tried to get up quickly, but a hand pressed her head down.

"This works too." Yelias removed his hand from her head and unwrapped some cotton swabs from nearby. "Come closer. I’ll help you clean your ears."

"Ah..." Bai Su was a little resistant. "My ears need cleaning too?"

Yelias explained, "After their heat cycle, a Dutch Rabbit’s body produces a large amount of a sweet secretion. It accumulates most in the ears and between the fingers. If it’s not cleaned out, it can easily cause redness and swelling, and the scent can create a security risk."

Bai Su scratched her head. She was clueless about these things, so she obediently rested her head on his lap and moved closer.

Yelias put on a new, clean pair of disposable gloves. He pushed aside her fleshy earlobe and poured the medicinal liquid into her ear canal.

"Hey!" Bai Su felt liquid enter her ear and instinctively shook her head wildly, flinging her ears and sending the medicine flying.

Yelias, who now had a face full of water: "..."

The little rabbit belatedly realized her mistake. She tentatively placed her small head back on his knee. Soaking wet, she blinked her big, helpless eyes at the doctor, looking terrified that he would be angry.

She couldn’t control the panic and fear welling up inside her. Ever since she was little, she’d always felt that people in professions like doctors and teachers had a naturally intimidating aura.

Yelias took a deep breath, his silver-gray eyes looking down. He gazed at her with a sense of helplessness, as if looking at a mischievous, disobedient child. "Susu, don’t shake your ears."

"O-okay..." Bai Su nodded obediently.

Yelias dripped the medicinal liquid into her ear canal.

Bai Su flinched instinctively, wanting to shake her head.

A large, dry hand suddenly reached out, easily cupping her palm-sized face, while his other hand pressed against the ear filled with medicine.

Bai Su squeezed her eyes shut uncomfortably, her brows furrowing together.

Yelias held the base of her ear and rubbed it gently, allowing the liquid to fully saturate and clean her ear canal.

Only then did Bai Su relax, her eyes squinting in comfort.

Evidently, the little rabbit was very pleased.

He repeated the process, pouring the liquid into her other ear.

After massaging both sides for a few minutes, he patted the drowsy Bai Su. "Alright, you can shake your ears now."

She was utterly exhausted; she had been so tense before.

After being massaged for a while with Yelias’s gentle technique, her entire scalp relaxed, and drowsiness quickly washed over her.

"Mmm..." Bai Su nodded obediently. She propped up her little head, squeezed her eyes shut, and shook furiously, flinging out all the liquid from her ear canals.

A low chuckle escaped his throat. "Such a good girl."

His long fingers tapped his own knee. "Come."

Bai Su placed her little head back on his lap, her eyes hazy with sleep.

Yelias moved her ear aside and began cleaning out the expelled sweet secretion with a cotton swab, coaxing her in a soft voice, "If you’re sleepy, just go to sleep. It’s alright."

Bai Su smelled the gentle scent of cedar on him. She was simply too tired.

In her daze, she thought she was snuggling up to her grandpa. She nodded obediently, leaned her body against his, and closed her eyes in peace, resting against his calf.

Yelias’s movements paused for a fraction of a second before he continued cleaning her ears.

After wiping her ears clean, he picked up a pair of nail clippers from the side. He took her small, delicate, boneless-feeling hand and trimmed all her nails.

There was a small scratch on the inside of her arm.

A quick scan with an instrument would reveal that she had scratched herself with her own nails.

’What kind of clumsy female Beastman gets scratched by her own claws?’

That’s why he decided to trim all her nails.

Bai Su still didn’t wake up. She was clearly exhausted and had finally relaxed.

Yelias lifted her soft body and released his Cedar Spiritual Power, enveloping her in it.

After being soothed for a moment, Bai Su transformed into a palm-sized little rabbit.

Yelias placed a swimming float the size of a hair tie over the little rabbit’s head and gently set her in the water.

The specially mixed potion quickly soaked her rabbit fur. Her wounds slowly began to heal, and her coat started to become soft and glossy.

The fluffy, chubby little rabbit had a mini swimming float around her head, so even in the water, her head wouldn’t sink.

Her body would sink for a moment, but with her deep breaths, it would slowly float back up after a little while.

Yelias couldn’t help but smile. ’Chubby little rabbits do have their advantages.’

’They’re so plump, they can’t drown.’

His gaze fell on the small Bixie ring on her necklace. The miniature White Spider carving on the Bixie radiated a lustrous sheen.

She used to wear it on her hand. It seemed that after a visit from Lu Tingyan, she had moved it to her neck. freewebnovёl.ƈom

Yelias extended a long finger and touched the Bixie.

This represented the glory and honor of the Lanton Family, a belief passed down from generation to generation.

It contained the condensed, powerful spiritual energy of their ancestors.

Only a female who bore an heir inheriting the progenitor’s bloodline superpower was qualified to possess this ring.

Just as he was about to take the ring off.

The ring suddenly emitted a soft light. A faint electric current flowed out, repelling his touch and refusing to be taken.

The gentle, gentlemanly facade in Yelias’s eyes slowly faded. His gaze, now distant and cold, fixed on the obliviously sleeping little rabbit. "How interesting. It has actually bonded to a master?"

"Just a mere Rabbit Beastman."
