Chapter 214: Chapter 212: The Backyard Is on Fire

He couldn’t bring himself to scold Bai Su, so he ran over and gave Wen Lan a piece of his mind. "What kind of fucking bullshit job are you doing?"

"If you’re not going to use your eyes, then gouge them out and put them on display! How is it reasonable that any Tom, Dick, or Harry can just get close to Susu?"

"Were you a fucking corpse just standing across the street? You just watched brazenly as she was led away?"

"Wen Lan, you useless sack of shit!"

"If even a good-for-nothing like you can be the second-in-command of the International Alliance, no wonder it’s an Alliance of good-for-nothings!"

But Wen Lan, contrary to his usual self, didn’t fly into a rage. Instead, he sneered at the man. "What? Are you getting worked up already?"

"Does it hurt to see Bai Su with someone else?"

"In that case, I’ll have to play matchmaker for them even more."

Li Chenlin’s expression darkened instantly. "You damned lizard!"

Words failed them, and the two started fighting again.

A moment later, Wen Dabao crawled out from the rubble, cursing. "I’m so done with you two! Mom! Can’t you do something about them?!"

The entire building had collapsed.

It was a perfectly good general store, and it was gone just like that.

But those two didn’t stop. They took their fight out onto the main road.

Two Level 9 powerhouses unleashed their spiritual power, throwing the entire street into chaos.

The unlucky bystanders were pinned to the ground by the two immense spiritual powers, too afraid to move a muscle.

The two at the center of the vortex weren’t faring much better; both had cuts and bruises on their faces.

The crowd noticed that despite their fighting, their spiritual power was clearly avoiding the restaurant, as if they were afraid of damaging it.

The more perceptive onlookers had already scrambled into the restaurant to take cover.

Terrified that these two would tear the sky apart, Yan Qingya rushed to get Bai Su, who was finally able to quell the battle.

With the general store destroyed, Wen Lan, however reluctant, had no choice but to take Da Bao and Xiao Bao to live at Bai Su’s home.

It wasn’t until her three older brothers picked her up from school that afternoon that Wen Xiaobao found out their home had collapsed.

She was actually quite happy about it, because this way, she had a perfectly good reason to sleep with her mommy!

The two men sat facing each other on the sofa, glaring daggers. Neither was willing to back down.

Bai Su’s face was grim. "If you two haven’t had your fill of prison food, I don’t mind calling the police again."

They each let out a cold snort and looked away.

Only then did Bai Su release her spiritual power to heal their injuries.

They were covered in wounds, big and small.

Wen Lan had snake bites oozing venom, and several broken bones from where a snake tail had coiled around him and squeezed.

Li Chenlin was no better off. He was covered in bloody welts from being whipped by Wen Lan’s tail. The lizard’s tail was bladed, leaving at least a hundred cuts of varying sizes all over his body.

Both were bloody and battered, their faces bruised and swollen, and their spiritual power was significantly depleted.

If they had continued to fight, it would have only ended in mutual destruction.

Wen Xiaobao looked sad, hugging Wen Lan’s hand with concern. "Daddy... does it hurt...?"

’Even though I really wanted to live with Mommy, I never imagined it would happen in such a bloody way.’

Seeing his frightened little daughter, Wen Lan was flooded with guilt. "Daddy’s fine. Don’t cry, Little Treasure. They’re just scrapes. It doesn’t hurt at all."

Li Chenlin let out a jealous snort from the side.

’So what if he has such a cute and sweet little daughter?’

’I can have eight kids with Bai Su in the future!’

’Hmph!’

Wen Xiaobao hesitated, then glanced cautiously at Li Chenlin. "Third Daddy... are you hurt?"

Li Chenlin’s gloomy expression instantly brightened. "Y-You... What did you just call me?"

Wen Lan scoffed, then pretended to patiently explain to Wen Xiaobao, "Sweetie, don’t just call him that. He’s not your mommy’s Beast Husband, you know."

"It’s not even certain if she’ll have him. Maybe a certain fish will swoop in and steal your ’Third Daddy’s’ spot."

Li Chenlin shot Wen Lan a venomous glare. "What did you just say?"

Wen Lan was unfazed. "You think I’m scared of you?"

Bai Su’s mouth twitched. "You two, one more word and you can both get out!"

Li Chenlin immediately shut up.

Wen Lan, now living under her roof, awkwardly closed his mouth and said no more.

Just then, Yelias emerged from the basement. Seeing the state of the living room, he couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "What happened here?"

Wen Dabao quickly gave him an embellished account of what had happened.

Yelias chuckled and ruffled Wen Dabao’s hair before turning to Bai Su, his voice laced with concern. "Susu, this must be difficult for you. These two only ever cause trouble; they’re no help at all."

Li Chenlin bristled. "Who are you trying to badmouth? Don’t get so smug! Go online and take a look for yourself!"

Hearing this, Yelias opened his smart device to check.

A flood of photos of Bai Su and Rosa Meiya popped up, showing them in all sorts of close contact—linking arms, shoulder to shoulder, even sharing a drink.

Some ambiguously framed photos made it look like they were kissing in the street. There was even one from a beauty salon, with Rosa Meiya wrapped in a bath towel, hugging her from behind!

It looked for all the world like they had just gotten a room together.

Yelias’s expression turned grim. "Susu, since when did you get so close with him?"

Wen Lan, holding his two children, watched the drama unfold with great interest, fanning the flames. "You all are really something else with your jealousy. Bai Su just made a friend. Does that really warrant you trying to control her every move?"

"If I were Bai Su, I’d probably die of frustration. Can’t even have the freedom to make friends."

Wen Dabao’s mouth twitched. "Dad, you should probably talk a little less. I’m worried they’re going to gang up on you."

Wen Lan shrugged. "I’m just a blunt person. What can I do?"

Bai Su looked helplessly at Li Chenlin and Yelias. "It’s not what you think. Rosa Meiya and I are just normal friends."

Yelias joined the jealous chorus. "If you’re just normal friends, why was he hugging you while only wearing a bath towel?"

Bai Su: "We were at a salon! He was about to get a back massage, so of course he had to take his clothes off!"

Li Chenlin: "But he hugged you!"

Bai Su: "Wait, did you all forget? Rosa Meiya is actually a female... We were just interacting the way females normally do."

Li Chenlin scoffed. "What female? He’s clearly a perverted fish!"

Yelias said with a sigh, "Susu, don’t forget, he’s biologically male now. He knows exactly what you’re thinking, and that’s why he’s so brazenly getting close to you."

Li Chenlin: "For all we know, that damned pervert liked you even back when he was a female!"

Yelias: "There are quite a few deviants among the fish-types. Susu, I suggest you limit your contact with him."

Bai Su frowned. "He really hasn’t done anything to harm me. We even call each other sisters. You shouldn’t be slandering a female behind her back like this."

Bai Su’s defense of him only made the alarm bells ring louder in their minds.

Li Chenlin and Yelias exchanged a look. In that silent glance, they tacitly formed a united front.

’First, eliminate the external enemy. Then, settle the internal conflicts!’

Wen Lan, ever the instigator, added, "If only my cousin were here. He’s far more broad-minded than you lot."

Bai Su paused.

’Yes, if only Lu Tingyan were here.’

’Back when he was around, Bai Su never had to worry about these things.’

’He would have handled everything perfectly.’

’Only now did Bai Su realize how much Lu Tingyan had been doing for her, silently, behind the scenes.’

Bai Su suddenly missed Lu Tingyan terribly, but she couldn’t ask about him.

Only Bai Su and Yelias, the doctor, knew that Lu Tingyan was attempting to break through to Level 10.

One more person knowing meant one more layer of danger.
