Chapter 202: Chapter 200
Li Chenlin ignored him completely, looking only at Bai Su. "Susu, there are things I don’t know how to do. Can you teach me?"
’Rule number one of the good CEO’s playbook: Never get into a pissing contest with other men. Your one and only goal is Bai Su!’
Li Chenlin was feeling smug. ’Yelias’s game is still too weak. Instead of wasting time trying to squeeze me out, he should be figuring out how to win Bai Su’s favor. That’s what really matters.’
’Winning Susu’s heart is the only way to be invincible!’
Bai Su had a soft spot for him whenever he acted weak and needy in front of her. Without a second thought, she nodded. "Of course."
Yelias: "...Susu, he put you in grave danger last night."
Bai Su frowned, looking at Yelias with disapproval. "That was the Medical Alliance’s fault, not Li Chenlin’s. How can we blame one of our own for someone else’s mistake?"
Li Chenlin silently hid behind Bai Su and shot Yelias a provocative smile.
Yelias: "..."
He looked at Bai Su and slowly lowered his elegant head. "Susu, I’ve been so busy with work. I just wanted to fight for any chance I could get to spend time with you."
Bai Su’s heart softened again. "Li Chenlin, why don’t you go rest outside for a bit? A few moments won’t make a difference, right? Once we get to the shop, you’ll have plenty of time to help me."
Since Bai Su had spoken, Li Chenlin had no choice but to reluctantly retreat from the kitchen.
Only the two of them were left in the kitchen.
Yelias casually pulled down the kitchen’s privacy screen, closed the door, and, like a man with no bones, leaned against Bai Su’s back. "Susu..."
His drawn-out voice held a hint of grievance, and his breath, ghosting past the little rabbit’s ear, carried the faint scent of cedarwood.
Bai Su’s face flushed. "What are you doing? It’s so early in the morning."
Yelias wrapped his arms tightly around her from behind.
The little rabbit wasn’t short, but trapped in his embrace, she only reached his shoulder, looking both adorable and alluring.
Yelias moved closer, burying his face in the crook of her neck. "Susu, I’ve been so busy and tired lately..."
Bai Su felt a pang of sympathy. "Then why don’t you take a few days off?"
It was true that ever since Yelias had joined the project at the research lab, he’d had very little free time.
And when he came home from work at night, he still had to help look after Lu Tingyan in the basement and check on his condition.
Even the number of times he’d been handsy with her had decreased recently.
Bai Su raised a hand to stroke his face. "You’ve worked hard."
Yelias chuckled, his slender hand slipping under her pink apron. "I want a reward."
Bai Su: "???"
’Is this really the time for that?’
’Li Chenlin is still waiting outside, and the kids will be waking up soon.’
Yelias: "Susu, you haven’t been to my room in a long time."
Bai Su, feeling his mischievous hand, flushed beet-red. "I... Aren’t you really busy? I was afraid of tiring you out, so I didn’t come looking for you... Mmph..."
"Hm?" Yelias raised an eyebrow in surprise, his narrow eyes filled with the astonishment of being challenged. "Are you questioning my stamina?"
’This is bad,’ Bai Su thought, quickly denying it. "No! I... Ah..."
She instinctively clapped a hand over her mouth.
"Susu! What’s wrong?" Li Chenlin’s concerned voice came from outside the kitchen.
’How could I dare to speak?’
’The spider silk went right in!’
She clamped her hand tightly over her mouth, beads of sweat instantly forming on the tip of her nose.
Yelias’s voice was lazy, yet noble and elegant. "President Li, are you planning to come in and observe a young couple’s flirting?"
There was a moment of silence outside, then the kitchen door was kicked hard, followed by the sound of an angry Li Chenlin plopping back onto the sofa.
Bai Su’s tense body suddenly relaxed slightly, only to be unexpectedly scraped by a strand of spider silk.
The taut spider silk bound her, its impossibly precise control forcing her to freeze completely.
If she relaxed and leaned back, the silk in front of her would pull taut...
If she stood up straighter, the silk below would pull...
And if she tried to sit down, her nose would brush against the silk, causing the other strands to resonate and vibrate, a "fate worse than death"...
"Yelias..." Her voice was pleading, her body rigid as she remained in his embrace, not even daring to breathe too deeply.
Yelias snorted coldly. "Susu, you’ve been getting too close to him lately. I’m very angry."
Bai Su wanted to defend herself. "You’ve been so busy, I was afraid of bothering you..."
Yelias: "So you just let Li Chenlin replace us, integrate into your life, and become more and more intimate with you?"
Bai Su felt wronged. "But aren’t you guys also trying to set me up with him?"
A cold glint flashed in Yelias’s eyes. "I regret it."
’I never should have let the wolf in the door!’
Bai Su nervously lowered her head, tugging on the silk.
The silk, like a plucked string or a line of dominoes, set off a chain reaction of vibrations.
The sweet scent of honey peaches filled the air, growing stronger and stronger.
Involuntary tears were squeezed from Bai Su’s eyes. "Yelias, you..."
As if not noticing her distress, Yelias said, "Susu, don’t you need to make breakfast for the children? They should be waking up just about now."
He thoughtfully raised his left hand, where his smart-terminal showed the time was already 8:25.
His hands were exceptionally beautiful, having inherited the characteristic slender bone structure of a White Spider Beastman, making them look somewhat thin.
But Bai Su had long since tasted the trouble these hands could cause and never dared to underestimate their explosive power.
The children would be down in five minutes.
She had no choice but to compromise. "Then what will it take to calm you down? I... I’ll do whatever you say!"
"Good." Yelias’s lips curled in satisfaction as he kissed her little rabbit ear. "What time do you get off work today?"
Bai Su struggled to get her wits back, her little brain working hard. "Around two o’clock..."
Yelias let out a low chuckle, his nose brushing against the sensitive inside of her drooping ear. "After work, reject any invitation from Li Chenlin. Tell him you’re bringing sweet little cakes to the research lab to keep me company while I work."
Bai Su nodded haphazardly. "Okay... I promise..."
Only then did Yelias retract his spider silk. A soft bundle of it drooped in his palm, dotted with crystalline droplets of moisture, glistening as if it had been nourished.
He smiled again and leaned in close.
Bai Su tensed up instantly, not even having caught her breath. "What are you doing?!"
Yelias gave a gentle smile, a glint of mischievous satisfaction in his eyes. "Opening the vent. Do you want everyone to smell us in a little while?"
Bai Su’s face turned bright red, and she froze, playing dead.
Yelias switched on the air purification system above her head.
In less than a minute, the scent in the kitchen was completely gone.
Bai Su secretly breathed a sigh of relief and finally started cooking.
A lavish breakfast was brought out just as the children were coming downstairs.
This time, Yelias didn’t linger. He ignored the fuming Li Chenlin next to them, picked up his bento box and breakfast, and said goodbye to Bai Su.
Before leaving, he didn’t forget to remind her, "Susu, don’t forget our date tonight."
He put special emphasis on the word "date."
Bai Su’s face reddened, and she gave a vague, hasty nod.
