Chapter 201: Chapter 199: Yelias Is Jealous

Wen Lan shot him a condescending look. "Instead of worrying about trivial details, why don’t you focus on getting her out of here first."

Li Chenlin had no choice but to shut his mouth.

’If it weren’t for Susu, I’d flay a layer of that lizard’s skin off him!’

Wen Lan and Li Chenlin flanked them, clearing out assassins firing from the shadows.

Bai Su followed Wen Dabao, her eyes peeled for the dense barrage of laser beams coming from all directions.

Wen Dabao’s tail was exceptionally nimble. The instant a beam shot toward them, her tail would snatch up a branch to deflect it.

Bai Su’s brow furrowed.

’With such a dense volley of beams, it’s too dangerous for Wen Dabao to be shielding me like this.’

Suddenly, a beam shot toward Wen Dabao’s temple.

Bai Su’s pupils constricted. Her body moved faster than her mind as she tackled Wen Dabao, sending them both tumbling forward.

"Susu!"

"Da Bao!"

The faces of the two men on either side grew taut, and they immediately converged on the center.

Wen Dabao, stunned, scrambled to her feet. "Hey, are you okay? Who told you to take that for me? I’m wearing a bulletproof vest..."

Bai Su got up. "I’m fine. Let’s keep moving."

Wen Dabao said, "How can you be? I just saw your right arm..."

She grabbed Bai Su’s arm as she spoke, but found no wound.

She stared, stunned. "How is that possible?"

A flicker of light crossed Bai Su’s eyes.

’I only dared to jump because I’d already redeemed a defensive item from the System Mall, one that could deflect the attack.’

’Of the four of us here, I’m actually the safest one.’

Bai Su took Wen Dabao’s hand. "This isn’t the time to worry about that. I’m really fine. We need to get out of this trap now."

Seeing that she was indeed unharmed, Li Chenlin and Wen Lan didn’t press the issue. The four of them quickly retreated from the arcade.

Wen Dabao escorted Bai Su all the way back to the mansion, staying by her side protectively.

When Bai Su saw that Wen Lan and Li Chenlin hadn’t returned, she frowned. "Where are they?"

Wen Dabao waved her hand dismissively. "They’re definitely cleaning up the mess. We don’t need to worry about them."

Bai Su relaxed a little. ’That’s true,’ she thought. ’Without me there to hold them back, they can act more freely. Besides, Li Chenlin still has so many of his men outside.’

Still, she couldn’t shake her unease and sent Yodel and Kong Ji with a team as reinforcements.

Wen Dabao, on the other hand, wasn’t worried in the slightest. She flopped lazily onto the sofa and beckoned to Bai Su. "Mom! Wanna play a game? They won’t be back for a while."

Bai Su couldn’t help but snort with laughter. Wen Dabao had completely shattered the tense atmosphere.

Amused, she couldn’t help but ask, "So, you came back to find your ’mom’ just so I could teach you how to flick-shot?"

Wen Dabao linked her arm through Bai Su’s like they were best buds. "Hey, now! Aren’t we family? Do I need a reason to come looking for you?"

As Bai Su deftly logged into the game, she renewed a "Gaming Genius" gadget in the System Mall. "Uh-huh. So I don’t need to take you on as my apprentice anymore?"

Wen Dabao quickly logged into her account. "My dearest, dearest Master, how could such cold words come from those warm lips of yours?"

「Meanwhile.」

Li Chenlin had his men lock down the arcade and was now leading the cleanup inside.

Wen Lan saw this and couldn’t be bothered to get involved. Someone else was doing his dirty work for him; he couldn’t have asked for more.

The thought of his perfectly good date being utterly ruined sent a gloomy pall over Li Chenlin’s entire aura.

He unleashed his intensely aggressive spiritual power and entered his Beastification State. His serpentine tail moved with savage force, constricting and killing anyone who approached, splattering blood across the ground.

The members of the Medical Alliance realized something was wrong, but it was too late to retreat. The entire arcade was sealed tight—every exit, above and below ground, was blocked. They couldn’t escape. Their only option was a fight to the death.

Li Chenlin’s murderous aura was overwhelming. With a violent shift, he fully transformed into a colossal python, its body towering over the simulated forest’s tallest trees. Its head flicked its forked tongue before spitting out one Poison Gas Bomb after another.

The entire forest was soon enveloped in an increasingly thick, poisonous fog.

Wen Lan, singed by the gas, cursed, ’Madman,’ and quickly retreated from the arcade to wait outside.

The slaughter lasted from 9:00 p.m. until 4:00 a.m. the next morning.

Clearly, Li Chenlin had been thoroughly enraged, deliberately extending a massacre that could have been over in an hour to nearly ten.

No one could imagine the inhuman torture those Medical Alliance assassins had endured inside the arcade.

At dawn, Li Chenlin slowly emerged from the arcade and slipped into the car his assistant had prepared.

The assistant’s scalp tingled and his back went rigid. Even without turning around, he could feel the terrifying, oppressive aura radiating from Li Chenlin.

It felt as if a ferocious beast were perched on his back, ready to pounce and rip his head off at any moment.

’Still, Miss Bai Su ordered him not to eat people, so that probably won’t happen... for now.’

The young assistant silently chanted ’Miss Bai Su is with me’ three times in his head, just to muster the courage to share the cramped space with Li Chenlin.

"President Li, shall I take you back to the mansion?"

Li Chenlin’s voice was raspy. "Get a room at the nearest hotel."

The assistant blinked. "Huh?"

Li Chenlin snapped, "If you’re deaf, go get your ears checked."

"Oh..." the assistant stammered, his heart pounding.

The car shot off, navigating to the nearest luxury hotel, where the assistant booked a room for Li Chenlin.

Before entering the room, Li Chenlin added, "Have a clean set of clothes sent over."

After a pause, he added, "The style should be gentle, reserved, and understated, but still commanding."

"...Yes, sir."

Li Chenlin went into the bathroom and showered for a full three hours. Only when he was certain that every trace of blood had been washed away did he change into the clean clothes and return to the mansion.

He arrived outside the living room at around 8:00 a.m.

Bai Su was just coming downstairs, having just woken up, her eyes still hazy with sleep.

Li Chenlin wiped the slate clean, adopting a gentle, docile expression. He smoothed his collar and hair, then pushed the door open. "Morning, Susu!"

Bai Su’s voice was thick with sleep. "Good morning, Li Chenlin..."

Li Chenlin felt his heart melt instantly. He sidled up to her obediently and followed her into the kitchen. "Susu, you just woke up, didn’t you? Should I help you make breakfast? What would you like to eat?"

Watching from outside the living room, the young assistant was secretly dumbfounded. ’When it comes to putting on a different face, who could possibly beat the boss?’

Just then, a neatly dressed Yelias came downstairs. "Helping with breakfast isn’t part of President Li’s job description, is it?"

Bai Su yawned, her head drooping as she rubbed her eyes, finally waking up completely. "Both of you, get out. I can handle it myself."

Yelias rubbed her head, his voice full of sympathy. "You shouldn’t indulge that little girl so much next time. You played games with her until midnight. Look how tired you are."

Bai Su nodded, but didn’t pay it much mind.

Li Chenlin refused to yield an inch. "Susu isn’t fully awake. What if she cuts her hand? That’s all the more reason I have to help."

Yelias sneered. "Do you even know how? You’re probably just here to get in the way. I’m the apprentice Susu taught herself. When it comes to helping in the kitchen, I believe I’m a better fit than you."
