Under his pillow lay the item he had specifically dragged Beidou out to buy earlier...
In truth, Qin Jiao wasn’t asleep. She was no naive little girl, so how could she not know what Shen Yi wanted to do? Beidou, who had accompanied Shen Yi to buy that "little thing" yesterday, eyed the young couple suspiciously. Finally, he lowered his voice and asked Du Liya seriously, "Was Xiao Yi’s health poor in the past?"
Du Liya nodded. "He wasn’t very healthy as a child. Even when we first arrived in Ping’an Town, he was still a bit frail. But he started getting better during his senior year of high school, and he’s been careful to keep exercising."
"It seems he hasn’t been exercising long enough. Once I’m done with my business abroad and return to the country, I’ll work out with him!"
Du Liya looked completely baffled, having no idea why Beidou suddenly wanted to make Xiao Yi exercise.
Still, Beidou getting along well with Xiao Yi was exactly what Du Liya had hoped to see.
In the following days, everyone was busy. Even Shen Yi was called away by Beidou to help with things. Qin Jiao, however, had it relatively easy; for the most part, she just needed to stay by Du Liya’s side.
After trying on everything a bride could possibly need, Du Liya returned to the hotel room. Pounding on her legs, she said to Qin Jiao with heartfelt gravity, "Xiao Jiao, listen to me. Marriage... getting married once is enough. Don’t ever do it twice. It’s just too exhausting!"
