Chapter 384: Chapter 384: The Other One Is Her Boyfriend

Qin Jiao had to head back to school in the afternoon, so she left. She still hadn’t picked up her textbooks and would need to bring them home later.

And there was a class meeting at three in the afternoon. She didn’t know what it was about, but because she had missed out on university life in her past life, Qin Jiao was determined to give herself the full college experience in this one, no matter how busy she was.

As it turned out, she had just stepped onto campus when she heard someone call her name. She turned around and saw Gu Yunqi jogging toward her.

"Qin Jiao, it really is you! I was planning to find you and Shen Yi so we could come to school together, but I just found out from Mr. Sun that you both moved?"

"Yeah, my family moved to North City."

"So you’re commuting instead of living on campus?"

"That’s right."

Qin Jiao was very busy and had many secrets. Besides, her new home wasn’t too far from campus. Once she got a car, it would be even more convenient.

So, commuting was simply more convenient for her.

Gu Yunqi looked at the Qin Jiao before him and noticed that her aura had changed again over a single summer break. Before, she had the air of a cool, aloof top student, but now, her entire being was like an unsheathed sword—her presence was even stronger.

He said, "I’m in the School of Science, and you’re in the School of Law, right? When we have some free time, I’ll find you and Shen Yi. We should all grab a meal together sometime."

"Sure."

"Do you have a home phone? Let me get the number."

Qin Jiao nodded and readily wrote down her home phone number for Gu Yunqi. Since she still had to go pick up her textbooks, she took her leave. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

After Qin Jiao was a good distance away, Gu Yunqi’s roommate walked over, clapped him on the shoulder, and said, "Gu Yunqi, didn’t know you were friends with such a pretty girl. Does she have a boyfriend? If not, how about an introduction?"

Another guy sidled up, grinning. "Hey, Gu Yunqi, you can’t play favorites. I don’t have a girlfriend either, so you have to introduce me too!"

Gu Yunqi admired Qin Jiao a great deal himself. After all, she was gorgeous and an incredible student. Back in their senior year of high school, she had slowly but surely surpassed him!

But admiration was one thing. Gu Yunqi was a realist. While he didn’t know the specifics of their situation now, the two of them had been deskmates in high school and were practically inseparable. They had to be a couple.

Gu Yunqi told his two roommates, "Don’t even think about it. She’s taken."

"A little disappointing, but understandable. She is gorgeous, after all. Besides, she just has a boyfriend, she’s not married—there’s still a chance. But forget about us. Gu Yunqi, didn’t you say she was your high school classmate? Didn’t you know to make your move back then?"

The other one said, "Gu Yunqi was probably too focused on his studies in high school to have time for dating."

It was true that Gu Yunqi had spent all of high school studying hard and trying to improve. Once he got into the advanced class for senior year, he became even more single-minded, determined to get into North City University.

But the thing was...

"Qin Jiao’s score on the college entrance exam was higher than mine. She was the top scorer in our entire province."

"What?!"

The two roommates were dumbfounded. One of them snapped out of it and said, "Wait, I remember now! Your province had two top scorers who tied with the exact same score, didn’t it? Who was the other one? Do they go to our school too?"

Gu Yunqi nodded and added, "The other one is her boyfriend."

The two roommates: "..."

Presumably, even if those two weren’t married, there was no chance for guys like them. Getting the exact same score on the college entrance exam—what kind of insane romance was that?

One of the roommates patted Gu Yunqi’s shoulder with a look of dawning comprehension. "I suddenly understand why you never ended up with her."

’Who could possibly compete with that?’
