Chapter 1: Episode 001: This is Unfortunate

There is no reason for me to be running, so why the fuck am I running?

Stop Goddamnit! Stop and face your death!

But no, Rue found herself in a predicament. She couldn’t stop running. Her heart couldn’t stop racing. Every fibre of her being just told her to run and never look back. frёewebnoѵēl.com

She didn’t even know what on earth was chasing her, the only thing screaming in her mind was;

RUN.

Her legs had made this decision without her. They usually did.

Why was she in this situation?

A little over an hour ago, Rue finally died. She was in a hospital room, counting the seconds when her heart would stop beating, and when it finally did, she was so fucking relieved, so happy and content.

So why had she, someone who wanted to die so badly, suddenly woken up in a body that was filled with vigour?

A hair so white it was almost blinding.

A face so vibrant that even she was shocked.

And of all the moments to wake up to, it had to be a pig, jaws open and a second away from eating her, only to stop, sniff her, and shudder back in repulsion.

She thought perhaps this was all a fucked up mistake and she could just die again, but then all of a sudden the pig looked at her, fucking looked at her and ran away as if she was the predator.

When she was actually prey.

She did the only thing that made sense.

Nothing. She just lay there, staring up at the trees, trying to figure out why she wasn’t dead. With new hands. Soft and white.

Weird.

New place. Wet and smelly.

Also weird. Not heaven then.

When people die, they go up right? So why am I in an unfamiliar place, and feeling different?

She got up slowly and started walking. The body felt different. Lighter than she remembered. Like it hadn’t spent three years trying to give up.

The swamp went on forever in every direction. Damp and loud and smelling like something she couldn’t name.

Until something moved beside her.

Her legs took off before she could tell them not to.

She was hopping. Actually hopping. Ears flat, feet pushing off the ground in full stupid hops, and she could not stop it, no matter how hard she tried.

She found the cave by accident. Fell into it more than entered it. Stood there catching her breath and was deeply annoyed at her own legs.

The foreboding presence she felt back there was no longer there, and she was finally alone.

"Ugh... My heart is about to leap out of my chest." Rue panted, trying to catch her breath.

She looked around the cave and took three steps away from the entrance.

"Even back on earth, I have never felt such fear. Where the fuck am I for real?" Just then, she passed a puddle and then she paused, she looked over the water, and her heart leapt to her throat.

WHAT THE FUCK?

"What happened to my face?" she squealed, looking back at her was the face of a bunny. A little bunny, with ears raised and nose stuttering.

She froze in place. Then she raised her hand and found herself looking back at furry-looking hands.

Paws?

"Don’t tell me I am a fucking rabbit." She groaned and backed away till her furry back hit the wet stone wall.

[Yes, you are a bunny.]

"What the fuck, who said that!" Her heart rate spiked again, and she was about to take off, only for the same screen to appear in front of her, making her curl into a ball.

[Don’t be scared, let me introduce myself.]

The screen wrote, and Rue internally narrowed her eyes to this screen that could even write in English. Had it followed her from Earth?

[Welcome, Host: Rue!]

[Activating: The Baby Making System!]

"What?" Rue gasped.

[Yes, I am the Baby Making System. I am here to assist you on your journey on making babies.]

Rue blanked out for a long while, staring at the screen in disbelief. Then it all clicked in place. She was reborn into this world.

[This is the Beastworld. A World filled with only beasts. And right now, you are also a beastman.]

"I am not interested."

[Name: Rue]

[Tribe: The only princess and lost princess of the rabbit tribe.]

[Age: 20 years old.]

[Abilities: Fast Legs. Large Appetite]

[Fertility Rate: Infinity]

"Did you not fucking hear me?! I am not interested!"

[This is out of my hands, host. You have been given a second chance to live. It can never be revoked.]

"And I said, take it back, even if you have to kill me."

[...]

[ACCESS DENIED]

"Fuck!"

Rue sagged and sat on her hind legs; she was not planning to move an inch. So apparently, this was not the afterlife; it was a second life she didn’t ask for. A life she suddenly loathed to the point she tasted the anger in her throat.

Another cursed life that would end up with pain, fear, sorrow and finally death.

[Baby Making System 100% Activated]

[Mission Assigned]

[Approach a healthy male and mate with him within 24 hours.]

[Penalty: Death.]

"Great, just kill me." Rue laughed as she saw the screen. But then the screen glitched, and a new penalty showed up.

[Penalty: Memory Deletion.]

She froze.

Her memories flashed: laughter, tears, sorrows so vivid they stung. People she missed, and people she lost.

"That doesn’t move me one bit."

[...]

[What is your mother’s name? What does she look like?]

Rue wanted to laugh; in fact, she scoffed. That was very easy, she remembered her mother’s name just like a number etched into the back of her skull, there was no way she couldn’t remember these details.

Yet her mind went dead silent.

Every memory turned fuzzy, even the number she couldn’t remember, and her heart was filled with dread.

[So you do fear something.]

Rue clenched her teeth.

[Your Time Starts Now.]
