It is summer time and I am fifteen years old now, and will turn sixteen in the monsoon.
It has been more than five years since that circus incident. I have intensified my training since then.
Learning basic magic was not enough, I invested in learning complex spells and also successfully absorbed my first magic core.
It happened last year, there was an attack of sea monsters.
It was a group of Abyssal Sharks and unexpectedly among that group there was one unique creature.
A Storm White Shark, an extremely rare sea monster with the power of creating storms.
I also participated in that operation and after we successfully defeated those sharks, I got the magic core of that storm white shark.
It was a risky move since I can’t absorb another magic core until I become a grand mage.
I took the risk because the storm white shark is a super rare monster.
And you can’t just simply store a magic core because it will be turned into nothing more than a rock in twenty four hours of the monster’s death.
I also had to prove to my father that I have the physical, mental and the magical capabilities to absorb that core. You can’t just simply go and absorb a magic core without enough capability, it can cripple you.
Currently I am having a spar with a young knight who is a graduate from the Eastern Knight’s academy
Dalas Wood, Cecil’s son.
He is 19 years old.
Dalas is a knight who can use aura and also has an affinity with water, in short a magic knight.
I am sparring with him to hone my combat skills.
"I will have to say, you are pretty amazing Lord Kai"
Dalas complimented me after I blocked his magic with ’Storm Shield’.
A magic I came up with after getting the ability to instantly create storms I got from the magic core.
Wind and water can already create storms but it takes a lot of time while the ability to instantly create storms opened so many paths for me.
"You are not bad either, it’s just your forte is defense"
I said while I launched another magic ’Aqua Drill’ with my wooden magic staff.
Launching water in high pressure in a single direction similar to a water jet that is used in cutting stones in modern time.
Dalas is holding a wooden shield in his left hand and a wooden sword in his right.
He clasped his hands in front as a hexagonal shield which resembles a turtle’s shell is formed.
That is his magic core ability, ’Deepsea Shield’. It easily blocked my attack and Dalas just stood there waiting for me to continue.
Well I can’t really break his defense yet no matter what I do but he can’t beat me like this either, so almost always ends in stalemate.
"That ability of yours really gives me a headache"
"It is for the sake of protecting you and Cerulean city, Lord Kai"
"Then looks like the spar again ends in this stalemate. I will definitely have to find something that can overcome that defense"
"Can’t you just let it go?"
Dalas asked jokingly but actually I can’t let it go.
My aim is to become invincible, at least below the grand mage level because I don’t know what awaits me.
Although the other two death routes can be avoided, there is still the danger of the main route.
In the main route Kai was killed by an unknown personality.
At first everyone thought it might be the villainess but in the ending it was revealed to be another Evil Magic User hidden in the academy.
The one who led Elena on the path of evil magic.
Neither the identity nor the gender of that evil magic user was revealed in the game, maybe it will appear in the sequel?
Not much details were given in the game regarding evil magic users but after living here and learning about them, my fear intensified.
Evil magic users are actually all around the world, living in either hiding or disguise.
Of course they don’t actually have an ’Evil’ attribute, as it is a rare super attribute after all. Instead their magic power developed the evil essence after using some cursed methods to increase their powers.
The real danger is a Sage level leader of an organization of the evil magic users called ’Rhasa Sect’.
That sage level evil magic user is known as the Evil Witch Rhasa.
Of course there is no way an evil sage can enter the academy without being noticed by other Sages in the capital.
More importantly such a powerful person will not be interfering with school kids, so it should be some unknown person.
Even if it isn’t a sage or a grand mage, I can’t really guess how strong that person can be, or if they are a student, a teacher or a staff member.
I must become stronger!

I will be leaving for the capital near the end of the summer to get admission in the Royal Academy.
Although schools here also start at the summer’s end just like in my previous life, but the admission ages are little different.
Well I don’t know about the other schools but in the royal academy people get admitted the same year they would turn 16 regardless of month.
Which means some students are sixteen years old at the time of admission while others are fifteen years old like me.
"Kai, don’t you have to say something?"

The conversation I am trying to avoid keeps catching up with me.
"Please I need some time"
"You should know that not everyone can wait for your decision"
Mother said in a pressing tone. The tone that suggest that now she’s really serious about this.
"I know but is not this too sudden?"
"Too sudden? We have been on this topic for a month now, just agree and get engaged already!"
