The Conquering of the slave city was a breeze. Done in an hour.
His troops, his unsullied had taken him to the grand pyramid were Helios would reside until a better living arrangement was made.
He had ordered the gathered unsullied to choose a leader amongst themselves. And they had picked Greyworm. Helios was not suprised. This was as intended.
The timeline was still a year before Dany married the Khal Drogo. Nothing much changed in Astapor for several years before she had originally showed up.
Helios got Greyworm and Missendei into his immediete service.He had given another speech about being sent from above to liberate the world by the all father. The poor uneducated slaves had ate it all up.
The two following him were still shook by the events of the past hour. Everybody in the whole bloody city was shook. While his speech had filled them with hope and devotion as a god commands. A god also commands immediete fear when he shows himself.
Atleast Greyworm could hide it. Missendei the poor thing was shaking.
Helios walked to the main chamber, leaving the others except his new servants behind. Walking up to the most comforatable chair he sat down.
"Sit,"
Greyworm immedietly followed and Missendei too came rushing after a few short moments.
"You have questions, yes? Ask them." Helios come calm and silent.
Greyworm said nothing. For all he knew there was a god before him. And that god had liberated him from hell.
"Ar....Are you God!?" Missendei barely mustered.
"No love, I am a god. The Sun God. And Odin is the All father" Helios raised his arm to create a mini sun in his palm that lit the room.
They two look astonished to say the very least. They appeared as though they would faint from the information.
"Why....Are you here your majesty" Greyworm spoke. Evidently much clearer then Missendei.
"Well I was banished from my seat at Troy after trying to start a war with the great darkness. My father banished me to a distant world. And that’s how I ended up in the lands of always winter. But as a God I saw it my duty to make best of my punishment and help liberate the suffering of this world" Helios dissapated the sun.
Looking at the two people who were struggling to comprehend the detail he spoke again.
"Look, I know how over stimulating all this is for you, truly I do. But we have a greater purpose ahead of us. I have liberated this city from evil. I wish to do the same with every other suffering land in this world.
I ask you this. Will you aid me in my aid to create a better world. A world united under a singular banner, where all men are equal. And no child has to go hungry and no women has to be just a brood mare.
I wish to try and create a world of only love and a world of only peace. And this world will be the greatest of my works. Worshipping the true gods. I know this is alot to digest. But I need and answer, will you aid this banished deity to create a beeter world!?"
I ask, pouring all my enthusiasm into every word. And truth be told I meant it.
The two went into thought. Greyworm agreed as quickly as he went into the thought. Missendei too soon followed.
The idea was too tempting for them. Almost too great, so much so that it sounded like an impossible dream. But they had a god on their side.
"I swear you’re majesty that Greyworm will fight for your cause and die for it when the time comes!" The first time Helios had heard passion in the man’s voice.
"I too swear to serve you Majesty"
They both bend the knee.
"Good, then we have a lot of work to do I hope you realize. Sit we will be here for a time." Helios tells them before begining his plans for this city. He was by no means a good king, he had never been one. But confidence is key. And he knew the complexity of the modern world politics and government structure.
This medieval world did not intinidate him much.
"First order of buisness. The freed slaves. The entirety of Astapor’s economy relies on salves. There are no more slaves.
I plan to put all the extra hands to work. Missendei get a hundred unsullied and gather the city and relay the news. The freed men. The labourer’s and the craftsmen will all be needed for the renovationof this city and removing the city. We need to remove all false symbols and prrof of slavery.
Also do go to Rhea and Alys. Tell then that from tomorrow they will visit all the orphanages and also distribute the food to the needy before we can do something with them.
I wish to build a temple in the honour of the all father and a school" I stop, letting her process the information.
"A school your majesty?" The girl was confused. They really had no means of proper education in this shithole.
"A place of learning, where the yound will go to learn things they would need to survive. But first I need you to gather a ten scholars. With merit. I wish to hake copies made of the Gospel" That was what Helios named the collection of four books.
Helios wished to have a thousands of copies eventually. And spread his faith. But all the long term things could wait.
"We need to build a spy network too, so go and get me a hundred or so whores" Helios spoke.Much to their confusion.
"Whores? Your majesty?" Greyworm did not understand.
"We cannot leave them behind. The women in whore houses suffer unimaginable attrocities. We will help them and they us. Also gather every smart potential administrator and governor left in the city. I will reform the government. Any slaves that are popular or smart or have been beside their masters during governing matters.
All this for you Missendei. It’s still afternoon. You have time till tomorrow, can you do it?" Helios spoke. Missendei only nodded, she could do it and she did not want to dissappoint a god on her first day.
"Greyworm I expect you to restructure the army. I will build a proper barracks soon enough, I need every batch of unsullied didvided into a group of 10.
With a squad leader. All the groups respond to the captain of the batch. Ten batches will make a unit. And the unit will answer a commander. Ten units or 10,000 men will we a legion.
We currently have 13,000 soldiers. This city has atleast 300,000 people if not more. And since there is alot on unemployment now. I want you to find able young bodies who are willing to be a new army. I will name it the Solaris Legion. I will need you to recruit and train those young men who would serve our noble cause. I need three legions. Recruit from outside the city if you must. There are 17,000 more men I need.
I will also assign the unsullied a good pay. Stay where you used to until the royal barracs is constructed. Train the recruits in your ways but be resonable. I need them trained nicely."
Greyworm looked overwhelmed by the resposibility but he too nodded.
"Good. Lets first deal with the clean-up and city management. Keep the people fed. And find scholars and laboures and women, blacksmiths and stone masons too. We need them more than anything now.
Once the administration of the city runs smoothly everything else will be cake. We would be able to continue with our greater plans after all this is said and done. Until then let’s get to work"
Being a 21st century man Helios liked the superiority it gave him in almost all matters at hand. This was truly the perfect feeling. Giving orders you know are good and would definetly succeed.
But even with all the orders in place and phase-2 complete. There was now more work to do than ever before. It did not burden Helios, it gave him purpose. He was never a fighter. An administrator and a king was better a position.
