Chapter 14: Chapter 14 - Veil

Chapter 14 - Veil

In the Eternum Realm,

Ashael sat in the grasslands, leaning against a tree. His eyes were on the system shop function screen, going through it.

He was searching for a way to hide his changed existence. He wanted to appear human to others. With this, he could hide his whole presence, powers, and race.

It’s not like he was going to hide his powers. It’s just that nobody would be able to see through him and find his secrets like EV, because since when does a newly awakened person have this much EV?

So, that’s why Ashael decided to buy this skill from the shop using a freebie, again.

{Note: - Ashael will not hide his powers nor will he pretend to be weak. It’s not in his nature.}

The skill Ashael bought was Absolute Veil.

Ashael called out its information.

{[Name: Absolute Veil]

[Rank: Divine]

[Description: Absolute Veil is a concealment ability that allows users to hide, alter, and suppress their existential aspects. The ability operates on physical, spiritual, and conceptual levels, making detection nearly impossible.]

[Sub-Abilities]

[Presence Concealment: Erases the user’s presence from perception. Unless a person sees him directly, they won’t know that he is standing there.]

[Aura Veil: Hides all aura, energy fluctuations, killing intent, and aetheric signatures.]

[Affinity Concealment: Hides elemental, conceptual, and law affinities.]

[Appearance Alteration: Allows the user to freely change face, hair, eyes, height, body structure, voice, age, and gender.]

[Race Veil: Will appear as whatever race the user chooses to show physically.]

[Camouflage Invisibility: Allows invisibility. Be it visual invisibility, sound suppression, scent concealment, thermal concealment, or spiritual invisibility.]

[Awakening Veil: Conceals awakenings, traits, abilities, and skills. Allows the user to appear unawakened regardless of actual power.]

[Note: Will require an enormous amount of aether to maintain the ability against higher-ranked lifeforms.]}

After looking at the information and feeling satisfied with his purchase, Ashael closed the system window.

"Master."

Suddenly, Ashael heard a voice around him.

"What is it, Juli?" Ashael asked without looking anywhere.

"It’s time."

"It’s past midnight in the outside world now. You should go." Juli Nebulas said.

"Yes, I have been here long enough now."

Ashael stood up.

Ashael looked to his left.

In the distance, he saw two blurred figures fighting each other.

One was the humanoid combat instructor, but much stronger.

The other was Ashael, or more accurately, his reflection.

Ashael had used his Infinite Presence trait to create a reflection that would train and learn against the instructor.

And after that, he would absorb that reflection and take all the growth for himself.

Ashael called out to the system to stop it and called back the reflection.

[Cancelling the [Absolute Training System] function.]

The combat instructor figure was gone the next second.

The reflection disappeared from its place and reappeared in front of Ashael.

It had just used one of Ashael’s abilities from his traits.

Ashael cancelled the reflection.

The reflection broke into particles and moved toward Ashael before being absorbed into his body.

Ashael closed his eyes to process all the growth he had learned.

Once it was done, Ashael disappeared and left the Eternum Realm, but before he left, he heard Juli’s voice.

"Goodbye, Master."

Ashael appeared in his room.

The room was the same as before he had left it.

He may have spent years in the realm, but only a little more than a day had passed outside.

Since he had spent more than a century there, he had not eaten anything.

His body had been sustained by aether using his authority there.

Ashael reached out through his connection with Isolde because of the soul contract.

He was going to call her by sending a jolt through her soul.

Usually, this was used to punish a subordinate. The pain felt was nothing compared to physical pain.

But sometimes Ashael used it to call her when he needed her.

It sounded cruel, but this was Ashael, who could be much crueler.

But before Ashael could send it, he stopped at a second thought.

He had given her a day off, so it would not be fair if he called her. It would be like breaking his word, and he could never allow that.

So instead, Ashael went to his bed.

Near it were two ring bells.

One was golden and the other was silver .

He pressed the silver one.

Ding!

The ring bell was a minor type of artifact that could be used to call servants and guards.

The silver one was for maids and servants.

The golden one was for royal guards.

A few seconds later, Ashael heard knocks on his chamber door.

Knock!

Knock!

"Enter," Ashael spoke.

The doors opened and three women in royal maid dresses entered.

"You called, Your Highness."

The three maids spoke in unison while bowing deeply.

Ashael turned around and looked at them.

All of them were much older than Isolde.

So, their assets were fully matured.

One of them had brown hair, while the other two were blonde.

"You in the middle, go and tell the royal chefs to prepare food for me."

Ashael said to the one in the middle.

She immediately bowed lower, turned around, and left to relay the order.

"The one with the brown hair, go and prepare a bath for me."

She immediately went to do it.

Then, Ashael looked at the remaining woman, who was also the most beautiful out of the three.

Ashael told her to stand up straight.

He looked at her and gave her a soft smile.

But to her, that smile was like a predator smiling at its prey.
