Chapter 8: Chapter 7 - Doctor Julia Treatment?

My eyelids opened slowly, and I saw the ceiling of an unfamiliar room.

The last memory that was in my head was my mother’s teacup attack, an attack that made my head feel dizzy to the point of fainting.

Oh, I almost forgot...

My head is bleeding too, that’s the most important thing!

If there were a Child Protection Committee in the world, I would have definitely filed a report against my mother for her abuse.

In this case, my mother was truly fortunate that I didn’t pursue the matter further.

In fact, I felt fortunate after fainting and getting the day off.

My gaze shifted to the corner of the room, and I saw a wooden display case filled with glass bottles. From the pungent smell, I could tell they were bottles of medicine, which tasted bitter to drink.

"This means..."

"I’m in the Duke’s health care room, huh?" I muttered in a low voice and saw a girl busy working in the corner of the room.

The windows in this room had been covered with cloth, and magic lanterns hung from the ceiling, shine brightly.

Even a fool would know the day had turned to night.

My first experience living inside the world of my own novel ended with a memorable fainting actions.

This Liliana, she’s really weak to be oppressed in one direction like this.

Ckuutt...

Ckuutt...

My head suddenly felt dizzy, and I let out a shriek, which caught the attention of the girl who was busy working.

"Ahh!!"

A light startling scream managed to make the busy girl working turn her eyes towards me.

This unbearable pain wasn’t being feigned. A throbbing headache, a dizzy feeling spreading throughout my head, and a faint lump on the top of my head.

I now understand the reason why I fainted from one small attack from my mother.

With just a light teacup attack, my head was already damaged by a critical hit from Master Reina attack.

Once again, I can conclude that Liliana has a weak body.

Oh! I need to correct that... she had such a weak body that a single blow to the head knocked her down.

Caress...

Caress...

My hand reflexively stroked the top of my head that was faintly protruding.

"Are you awake?" You have been unconscious for quite a while."

In the midst of this pain, I heard a female doctor’s voice, devoid of empathy. My eyes immediately glanced at her and noticed her lack of concern for her patient.

A young girl who had reached working age was in front of me. Her jet black hair was loose without a ponytail, her eyelids were black, and she looked like a young girl who was easily stressed by non-stop work.

This workaholic characteristic of her body reminds me of my past life as an author, where I wrote that a Doctor character that always has the same physical characteristic when working in a noble residence, like a black eyelids from exhaustion from work.

The reason behind that character is the irregular working hours of working in a noble residence. Therefore, I shortened the introduction of each Doctor who appears in my novel as someone who doesn’t need a break, when live in the noble residence.

In other words, my fainting is part of the job that this Doctor has to take care of.

I felt a little bit guilty about this female Doctor character.

"It’s normal to be unconscious for a long time, right?"

"I’ve been hit twice by a teacup on the head!" I replied, holding back the pain in my head.

Caress...

Caress...

My hand was still stroking the part of my head that was faintly bulging.

"There’s a faint lump on the top of my head. Is there anything that can help with the pain and dizziness?" I asked as I waited for the girl who worked as a doctor to come towards me.

"Do you want to compress it using a cloth filled with ice?"

"Is that really effective... Eh, wait, it is indeed effective. Injured athletes will also do that to their injured area. Ehh! Not that, please heal it like usual, Julia!" I shouted in a fairly loud tone.

I don’t know whether it was because my scream was too loud or the girl doctor named Julia was surprised, I could see her body jump quickly and cover my mouth with her cold hand.

Pllooommm...

"Ssshh!! Patients are not allowed to scream in the treatment bed. I’ll lose my doctor’s license if I’m thought to be torturing a patient," Julia whispered with her sharp, tired, and non-reflective eyes.

If I were a normal girl who didn’t understand this, I would have screamed in fear when I saw the look in her eyes that looked like a living corpse.

"Mmmpphh!! Mmm!!"

My mouth was tightly gagged, and I was having difficulty breathing.

"Mmmnn!!" My mouth, which was being gagged, tried to rebel.

My body, which was on the small bed, was now moving left and right, just to free Doctor Julia’s hand from covering my mouth. Her seemingly weak appearance was in stark contrast to the strength of her hands, which were able to gag a little girl until she lost her breath.

My body began to calm down after trying to break free and failing. The calm I’m referring to here is the resignation of a little girl unable to fight back.

In this situation, the door of this room was wide open and made us immediately look towards the open door.

Crack...

From behind the open door, I could see Master Reina coming in, carrying a wooden tray with food on it.

My position on the small bed and being silenced by Julia looked quite strange from her point of view.

"W-What are you two doing?" Master Reina asked as she placed a wooden tray filled with food on Julia’s desk, which was not far from the entrance infirmary room.

"Just a routine checkup," Julia replied quickly and removed her hand that was covering my mouth.

"Puuuhhaaa!!" I immediately took a deep breath and coughed.

Routine checkup, huh?

What a cruel lie from a female doctor.

Luckily, I didn’t pass out a second time from lack of oxygen to breathe.

Master Reina’s presence in this room was like a savior angel descended from heaven.

I feel grateful for this.

"W-What’s with that look?"

"A-Are you okay, Liliana?"

"Julia takes good care of you, right?"

Nod...

"I took good care of her, My Young Lady!"

"Liliana will recover quickly after being compressed using my medicinal potion!"

Before I could answer, Julia took the opportunity to improve her own good image as a professional doctor.

I didn’t have enough strength to refute her and nodded along to save Julia’s career as a Doctor at the Duke’s residence.

If I remember correctly, this character named Julia will be exiled after being accused of something related to poisonous drug ingredients, and it has something to do with the development of Master Reina in the future, who is dependent on sedatives to control her magical abilities.

"Hmm... I feel like I’m forgetting something important about this?" I muttered in a questioning tone.

In the novel I wrote, there are two versions of the story about this.

The main story is where the tragedy should have happened, and an alternative story where the incident would not have happened after taking preventative measures.

The question is...

Which route novel am I in?

The main story or alternative story?

Choommmp...

While I was thinking hard about something and daydreaming, my mouth was suddenly fed with a piece of fruit that tasted fresh.

"What are you thinking about?"

"Are you not happy with your Master’s presence, Liliana?"

I immediately shook my head and felt a sensation of pain spreading rapidly as my head moved left and right.

"I-I just feel dizzy," I replied while accepting a bite of fruit from my Master.

For now, I don’t care anymore about whether I’m in the main story or the alternate story.

If I could change the fate of this poor Villainess girl, wouldn’t it be worth a try?

"Don’t smile weirdly like that, it feels disgusting when seen."

Unconsciously, I smiled and made Master Reina feel disgusted.

"Ha ha ha..."

"Please forgive me, Master Reina," I chuckled and tried to be a good patient who was being treated by my Master.

For some reason... It’s terrible.
