Chapter 6: Chapter 5 - Prank For My Master

I couldn’t hold back my smile any longer.

The look on my Master’s face was as if she was unsure that her tea set wasn’t mixed with pieces of mint leaves.

I deliberately added chopped mint leaves into the strong tea just to prank my Master.

"My Master... don’t worry. How could I possibly tease my own Master by giving her a cup of tea mixed with chopped mint leaves?"

"If I did something like that, my Master would definitely sense it with her keen sense of smell, right?" I said with a sly smile that played with my Master’s mind.

My master looked confused by my words, and her facial expression kept changing as the strong scent of chopped mint leaves wafted into her nose.

While I was busy teasing my Master, a strong hand hit my head, and it was painful for a little girl’s body to bear.

"Haaauu!!" I screamed in pain after feeling a strong hand hit my head.

Pain and dizziness immediately spread rapidly through my head.

Amidst the unbearable dizziness, I could see flashbacks of Liliana’s memories. These unimportant flashbacks showed the close Master-Maid relationship, where they played pranks on each other, but were always thwarted by the mother’s affection, who hoped her little girl wouldn’t be too sadistic in playing her Master with little pranks.

"Liliana..." a deep, firm voice sounded behind me. My body reflexively moved, and I saw my mother standing behind me, her fist ready to strike my head again.

"M-Mom? Umm... Uhh, I’m not playing a prank on Master Reina. I’m just introducing a new tea blend to Master Reina!" I said, searching for a reasonable answer.

With this reasonable answer, I felt like Lady Luck was helping me as the fresh and sharp scent of mint leaves spread around me.

"This aroma..." My mother immediately directed her eyes to the teapot containing a mixture of tea and mint leaves.

Her hands immediately grabbed a teapot and a teacup that only maids were allowed to use.

My mother poured the tea mixed with mint leaves into a cup and closed her eyes, as if enjoying the strong, refreshing aroma.

Taking a sip, my mother widened her eyes as if she had discovered something interesting.

"L-Liliana, how do you mix the chopped mint leaves into the tea to make it taste this good?" my mother asked, looking at me with sparkling eyes.

"H-Huh?"

My head just got hit by my own mother, and now she’s asking me to tell her a way to mix chopped mint leaves into tea?

Oh my kind mother, at least apologize to your daughter, who was just hit by your hand.

My mother’s attitude and behavior were in stark contrast to the previous incident, which made my Master wonder what was happening.

"I just do it the usual way. Bring the water to a boil, add the dried tea leaves to the boiling water, mix it with some freshly chopped mint leaves, and let it steep for a while before straining it into the teapot," I replied while explaining the procedure for making mint tea to my mother.

"Is there something wrong with this mint tea, Mom?" I continued, curious as I was.

With my mother’s experience and skills, having worked as a maid in the Duke’s household, she should have known how to make mint tea.

However, I was asked this question and felt a sense of strangeness.

My mother’s expression hardened as if she had just realized a new recipe had come out of my mouth.

With her voice murmuring angrily and thinking hard in her head, my mother was thinking about a decision regarding the answer she would say.

"Our Duchess... has been shopping for strange plants lately from the traveling market that stops by the Duke’s town center. "We are confused about this plant..." said my mother while sighing and looking relieved after knowing the effects of the mint plant that the her Master had bought.

Unlike most royals, it seems the Duchess of this family has a rather strange shopping hobby.

"I-I have to drink this tea?" my Master asked as she looked at me with eyes that begged for mercy.

Even though that gaze came out, I did not waver in giving forgiveness at all.

"Yes, Master Reina. Didn’t you want to drink my homemade tea earlier?"

"Don’t you want to drink it, my Master?"

I kept forcing my Master to drink the cup of tea in front of her and smiled.

At this moment, I could sense my Master’s hesitation, unwilling to drink a cup of tea with a strong mint aroma.

Although the tea in front of her was normal, the strong mint aroma was coming from the teapot my mother was using is much fragrance to confuse.

My Master’s hand immediately reached for the cup of tea in front of her, and she tried to sip it elegantly, like a noble lady. Our eyes met, and I smiled even wider at her, as if I were planning something naughty in her tea.

"Hehehe..." I chuckled a little to add to the atmosphere of the prank I was doing.

"L-Liliana, you’re not planning anything terrible, are you?" my Master asked, but was ignored by my small chuckle.

Taking courage, my Master drink a cup of tea and realized that the tea she was drinking was normal.

I turned my face away after seeing her adorable cheeks puffed out, as if she was annoyed with me after being played with.

My master drink the cup of tea until it was finished and stared sharply at me.

"Liliana..."

"It seems like you’re enjoying the prank you’re pulling right now."

"You’re really annoying, you know!" my Master shouted with her cheeks still puffed out cutely.
