Chapter 18: Chapter 17 - Ordinary Maid Routine

"Uuuhh..."

In the bathroom that was exclusively used by the Maids, I stared at my reflection in the cool of water.

My cheeks were red after being bitten by Master Reina.

The painful bite had marked my cheek.

"This looks more like a mosquito bite than a bite from Master Reina."

I immediately washed my cheeks with cold water and felt the throbbing pain.

"This isn’t a bite anymore..."

"Master Reina intends to eat my cheeks..."

The cold water splashing on my cheeks slightly eased the pain.

Honestly, it didn’t hurt that much. It just stung after my delicate cheek was bitten until it turned red.

"I don’t want to take a bath in this condition, but it can’t be helped."

"My body is too sweaty and feels uncomfortable."

"Now, how am I supposed to take a bath in this unfamiliar novel world?" I asked, not expecting an answer, after seeing the simple toiletries the Maids used.

As far as I can remember about the world of this novel, the equipment in the bathroom is almost similar to that in the modern world.

There is a small bathtub...

There is a wooden ladle that is hard and can be used until they are broken...

There is also bath soap that emits foam and smells good to cleaning body...

It’s a good thing I wrote about such important things in my novel. If I had to take a bath in such unsanitary conditions, I can’t imagine how filthy the world I inhabit would be.

Although the bathroom facilities are limited, I can brush my teeth, wash my body with soap, and occasionally use shampoo. That’s enough for a decent standard of hygiene.

I sighed after the complexity regarding the need to bathe was resolved.

"Yup, this is better."

"I’m going to enjoy of my bath time!" I shouted excitedly.

My hands immediately removed the maid headband that was on my head and unbuttoned my uniform collar.

I, who had survived for two days in my novel world, would soon experience the pleasure of bathing for the first time.

After a day without take a bath, my body became sweaty easily, and my Maid uniform couldn’t absorb my sweat quickly enough.

As I pondered this, Liliana’s memory suddenly flashed through my mind. All the maids serving in this mansion didn’t have time to bathe regularly. Their busy schedules forced them to bathe on their days off and wear perfume to mask their body odor for full-day works.

"Is this a Victorian-era maid experience?" I grumbled as I watched Liliana’s memories play out in my head.

That seemingly insignificant memory compelled me to take a take a bath once a day. No matter how busy I am as a maid, I have to take a bath!

Even if I have to take a bath in the middle of the cold night!

Eh, but that means the day has changed, right?

At least it still counts as a different day!

It’s better than not take a bath at all!

My hands that were moving to unbutton the Maid’s uniform had reached the last button, my eyes peeked at the body of the little girl I was possessing and saw cute underwear that was suitable for a little girl like Liliana to wear.

"I was reminded of my childhood after seeing this cute underwear."

For some reason, wearing cute underwear like this feels embarrassing to me.

As someone who has lived to an old age, I can testify that these cute underwear are better than using elderly diapers.

As I untied Liliana’s underwear, I could see the reflection of her slender and healthy body.

"Ugh, is this part going to be a disaster or a blessing in the future?" I muttered as I moved my hand to my chest area.

"Yes, I hope it’s just average so that my monthly salary isn’t too expensive to buy bras that always change size every year."

Without wasting any more time, I immediately took a shower and endured the cold water pouring on my body.

I forgot the compression bandage on my head.

Without realizing that one crucial mistake, I screamed in the bathroom after the lump on my head was hit by a wooden ladle.

"A-Aaaah!! Aaahhh..." I was silent for a moment when I heard the sound of a wooden ladle hitting my head, before the pain in my head was quickly triggered.

"AAAAHHH!! IT HURTS SO MUCH!" The scream that came out of my mouth echoed in this bathroom.

My body curled up, and I slowly removed the compression bandage on my head.

"W-Why did I forget this important thing?" I grumbled while holding back the sobs that were about to come out.

My eyes were filled with tears that were about to fall, and the lump on my head was throbbing as if it were voicing its protest.

"Uuuhhh... when will this suffering end?" I continued to mutter as I endured the pain and continued this painful bathing activity.

By washing my body with cold water, I tried to forget the pain in my head and rinsed my hair with cold water.

Because the water was too cold, it was able to reduce the pain in my head and made my body shiver from the cold.

I’d already made sure this would happen because I’d taken a bath quite late. That was because Master Reina wanted to chat with me until dinner time.

We didn’t talk much.

Just listening to the complaints of a noble girl who was forced to learn the etiquette of a noble family.

As a maid who obeyed her Master, I listened to the complaints until the end.

Luckily, dinner was earlier than usual, and Master Reina immediately left with another maid assigned to pick her up.

After making sure my body was clean with soap, I rinsed my body again with cold water, dried my body with a towel, and immediately put on the change of clothes that I had prepared in the bathroom.

The change of clothes I was wearing was cheap pajamas given to all the Maids on the orders of the Duchess.

The material isn’t too bad like an expensive material, and I doubt it’s feels "cheap" from the Duchess’s overly wealthy perspective.

For a Duke or Duchess, a single gold piece for an outfit Maid would immediately buy than make a bargain.

After making sure I had changed my underwear and was wearing my pajamas, I walked out of the bathroom.

"You kept me waiting long enough, Liliana!"

As I stepped out of the bathroom, Master Reina, who was already wearing her pajamas, was standing beside the bathroom door.

"M-Master Reina, what are you doing in a place like this?"

"Humm? What am I doing in a place like this? Kukuku! Of course, I’m peeking at you while you’re bathing, my Liliana!"

"H-Huuuh?!"

That strange answer...

Somehow, it made me uncomfortable when I heard it directly from Master Reina’s mouth.
