Chapter 13: Chapter 12 - Alone In Infirmary Room

Nyuutt...

Nyuutt...

Julia and Master Reina worked together to treat the lump on my head.

A lump that was now interfering with my daily activities, even if it meant simply changing my sitting position on the small bed.

With the holiday time counted as working hours to used to recover, I deliberately read the medical books in Doctor Julia’s room.

Despite her seemingly un-doctor-like personality, I appreciate her dedication to purchasing expensive medical books. Working as a doctor in a Duke residence could probably buy all the expensive medical books in the kingdom.

However, there was no time left to read them all.

Even after Master Reina and Julia had finished renewing the bandage compress on my head, they were busy with their own activities and left me in the infirmary room.

This kind of loneliness felt boring, so I was forced to walk and pick up a medical book Julia had bought.

The thick, black cover of the book caught my attention, so I reflexively reached for it.

When I opened the first page, I was surprised to see the Japanese language, written on Earth and another language I didn’t know. Besides the Japanese language, I also understand any of the other languages on that book.

Well, how can I understand the writing of another language, which looks like a alphabet on Earth?

Am I a accidentally... became genius or something?

Putting aside writings that use other languages, I will only read writings that use Japanese language.

After a full breakfast, I’d wait until I was hungry again for lunch.

Of course, that would be boring as hell.

So, I planned to read through Julia’s medical book before lunch.

By picking up an interesting medical book, it distracts me from the pain in my head and makes me think critically about the mechanics of the novel world I have created.

As an author trapped in my own novel, I’m quite afraid of the storyline that will happen in the future.

Who wouldn’t be afraid if, in the future, there would be a big battle between humanity and "brainy" monsters?

I was so terrified, when writing this book, with full of a dark world action and forced romance scenes.

That’s why I decided to create an alternative version of this novel’s world.

At least, it’s much more peaceful and less dark for a romance novel.

"Why am I writing a dark romance story while I’m still alive?!" I grumbled to myself after being frustrated with my past life decisions.

"Well, at least that one novel has an alternative story. Whether my readers discover that story or not... is none of my concern now, because I’m already became Liliana."

My eyes returned to the medical textbook and found some of the world’s lore I’d written. As the author responsible for creating this world’s lore, I sometimes go too far in designing the lore, making the world-building overly complex... to be forgotten.

Even the side stories have a word count that is almost close to the main novel.

What I am reading is an important book in the future, written by a genius woman who has reincarnated Japanese bloodline and has become a famous doctor in the Seven Great Kingdoms.

A book whose contents are currently still being debated, because its "important" information is only conveyed through Japanese word game.

For someone who comes from Japan, of course, this is very easy to read or to be understanding it.

"Even though I only wrote nonsense word game about medical books that would change medical science in the future."

"But... who would have thought that the nonsense word game written in four paragraphs would contain modern medical techniques?"

"I went too far in designing this world’s lore, huh?"

"Thanks to this book, I already know some important things about the storyline of this world," I muttered with a sigh of relief.

The world of the novel I am currently entering is not the main novel I wrote, but rather an alternative story where the main character, the main female character, and the female Villainess character survived until the end of story.

That’s quite a relief...

A world that is not too brutal so that the main female character and the female Villainess character interact with each other without fear of death.

"Ugh, if I think about it more deeply. The stories I create always have a dark and romantic nuance, huh?"

"No wonder, I always get harsh reprimands from editors who are trying to censor the dark scenes so that it is suitable for publication as a printed book."

"I feel so guilty..."

"Please forgive me, all editors around the world."

While I was focused on reading Doctor Julia’s medical book, the door to the room opened, and the biological mother of a girl named Liliana entered the room.

"Oh, Mom?" I said in a confused tone after seeing her enter awkwardly.

"Liliana, are you okay?" she asked, looking worried about me.

As a former grandmother who has lived a long life and has a large social circle, I can feel the awkwardness of a mother who is hesitant to approach her daughter.

Yes, that’s normal.

What kind of mother wouldn’t feel awkward after injuring her own daughter’s head?

If there is a mother like that, then the authenticity of her flesh and blood needs to be questioned!

"I’m fine, I just need to get used to the pain in my head after make small movements like turning my head and walking. Oh! Once I get used to the pain, I’ll be back to work!" I replied with a wide smile like an enthusiastic little girl.

Girls at my age should be playing with their friends, but what I do for now?

I have to work to eat and live in a decent place.

Honestly, the remaining memories of a little girl named Liliana and her mother are too dark to tell.

Her father has run away, who knows where.

Her mother had to work, but didn’t want to leave Liliana in the broken house after an invasion monster, so her mother begged the Duke’s family to hire Liliana as an apprentice maid too.

The plan wasn’t too bad, as long as it didn’t make any problems.

"There’s no need to rush, just focus on recovering the wound on your head and... I’m sorry to made you like this, Liliana."

Liliana’s biological mother immediately bowed her head to apologize to Liliana.

As someone who has taken over Liliana’s body, I feel awkward and nervous.

"W-What are you doing, Mom?!" I shouted involuntarily, panicking to myself.

Could this be one of Liliana’s traits of being easily awkward and nervous when someone apologizes?

Ugh, I don’t know...

Certainly, this feels uncomfortable to me.

"S-Stop that, Mom."

"I-I know you didn’t do it on purpose!" I continued, holding back my awkwardness and nervousness towards someone who had become my mother in this world.

My mother immediately stood up straight and smiled gently.

"Thank you for your understanding, Liliana."

"You are so kind as my daughter..."

"Get well soon and help your mother with her work as an apprentice maid, okay?" As she said that, my mother reached into her maid uniform pocket and pulled out a small bottle that emitted a pungent odor.

Glloomm...

Glloomm...

This stinky stench!

There is no mistake, this is herbal medicine!

Not on Earth, not even in the novel world.

Why does herbal medicine smell so pungent and rotten?!

Who would write about the similarities between herbal medicines in a novel like this?

Ah, that’s right...

I’m the author.

So, this is all my fault??

NO... NOOOO... and NOOOOO!!!

It’s not my fault!

I don’t want to drink or touch herbal medicine that smells bad like that!

"Ugh... uuwweekkk!" While holding back the urge to vomit, I immediately ran out of the room and take a few step to avoid her.
