Chapter 123: It’s called agility, lizard

Utilizing his extreme feline agility, he executed a sharp, spatial feint—using a stray smoke grenade from his tactical belt to create a miniature distraction.

He bounded off the weathered alloy wall of Bunker 03, completely slipping past Caspian’s heavy reach and Kulu’s spear point.

He lunged forward, his large, clawed hand extending to grab Hana’s shoulder to drag her away from Raiden.

ZZZZZAAAAPPP!

Hana didn’t even blink. Before his fingers could even brush the white fabric of her dress, her right hand snapped up. The prongs of her high-voltage stun gun drove straight into the soft flesh of his exposed ribcage. A massive, blue-white surge of concentrated electrical current exploded through his nervous system.

The leopard leader’s eyes rolled back, his muscular frame locking up instantly as the current overrode his motor functions. He hit the ground with a heavy, ungraceful thud, his white-and-black striped tail twitching erratically as tiny arcs of static electricity danced across his short white hair.

Hana lowered the stun gun, her face completely deadpan as she turned her head to look at her two primary protectors.

"Real mature, guys," Hana said, her voice dropping into a freezing, clinical tone. "You let him get to me."

Raiden, who was still standing perfectly safe behind her, let out a soft, amused chuckle. He casually ran a hand through his pink hair, his nine tails swaying lazily. "I knew you could handle it, love. That’s why I didn’t move an inch."

Caspian whipped his head back, letting out an angry, deep bark as the scales on his face tightened. "You didn’t move because you were using Hana as a shield, you weak rat! I missed the cat because he used a dirty trick!"

"It’s called agility, lizard. Maybe if you lost some weight, you’d track a moving target faster," Raiden smirked, his emerald eyes glinting with a mocking venom.

"Enough," Hana cut them off flatly, her voice slicing through their bickering as she shook her head.

They were standing in the middle of an active garrison raid, and her men were acting like toddlers in a sandbox.

She looked down at the leopard leader on the floor. He was finally beginning to recover from his stunned state, his chest heaving as he groaned, though there was still a noticeable amount of electrical current vibrating through his muscles, making his ears twitch.

"Hey," Hana called out coldly, tapping the tip of her boot against his leather breastplate.

The white-haired leader blinked rapidly, his icy blue eyes slowly focusing as he looked up from the dirt. Hana tilted her head, deliberately shifting the strap of her tactical harness aside to expose the clear, prominent mark on her neck.

The leopard leader’s breath caught as he saw the distinct, intricate outline of the dragon’s folded wings etched into her skin.

"Now, look at the beastmen behind you," Hana commanded flatly. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

The leader painfully turned his head, his jaw dropping slightly as his gaze finally registered Caspian’s towering, dark-scaled form and Kulu’s massive, crimson plumage. fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

It was as if his savior complex had blinded him so thoroughly that he hadn’t even noticed the raw, primordial pressure radiating from her mates until this exact moment.

"I’m not one of the tragic females you’re trying to save," Hana said, her voice completely businesslike as she looked down at him. "These are my mates. And as it turns out, the Crimson Court is somewhat our rival as well." She flipped her hair back. "Stand up, cat. We have much to do."

"What... What do you mean?" He asked. And, did she just call me a cat?

"We’re going to help you free your sister." Hana said. "As well as every other female that’s being locked up here."

His eyes widened as he stared at her from beneath. He suddenly saw a ray of light, a beacon he wanted to reach out to. This female... She was an angel.

His icy blue eyes traced the sharp, unyielding lines of her face. She wasn’t just an angel, she was... She’s beautiful, he thought, a dazed, completely captivated look washing over his face despite the dirt smudged across his pale cheek.

But then, his gaze drifted downward. Because her tactical harness was buckled tight over her chest, her breasts looked absolutely huge, stretching the white fabric to its absolute limit just like her belly was.

Hana’s brows furrowed, her deadpan expression hardening into pure disgust. So, he’s a pervert, she thought, her finger instantly tightening on the grip of her stun gun ready to zap him once again.

"Lower your gaze or I’ll gouge your eyes out," Caspian threatened, stepping forward as his shadow completely swallowed the fallen feline.

A low, terrifyingly hot orange glow burst to life at the base of his neck, the gravel beneath his heavy boots beginning to smoke from the sheer intensity of his sudden fury.

"Try anything, cat," Raiden added, his playful smirk completely vanishing as his nine pink tails stiffened into deadly, pointed stakes behind him. "And see how fast you can track your sister when you’re blind."

The white-haired leopard leader quickly snapped his gaze back to Hana’s face, a sudden flush of embarrassment creeping under his cheeks.

He scrambled to his feet, though his knees still shook slightly from the electrical currents vibrating through his nervous system.

He cleared his throat, trying to regain his dignity as the battle between his snow leopards and the robed fox guards raged on around them.

"I—I apologize," the leader muttered, his black-striped tail twitching nervously as he looked at the massive dragon and the furious fox guarding her. He focused back on Hana, his expression turning serious. "My name is Ren. I’m the Alpha of the Frost-Claw Vanguard. You... you said you know where the captives are?"

Hana swiped her left thumb across her system screen, bringing up a localized map with traces of heat signature. The system had quietly generated this the moment the side quest was accepted.

At least it decided to help with the quest for once.

> [SUB-SECTOR SCANNING COMPLETE]

> Target Location: Underground Vault – 40 meters beneath the Primary Aegis Bunker.

> Biological Signatures Detained: 14 Females (1 Feline/Snow leopard Signature Identified).

"Yes, you can say that," Hana said flatly as she lifted her gaze to look at him. "Your sister is alive, but she’s locked forty meters beneath the very bunker I’m trying to open."
