’It only looks like one, but it isn’t truly human!’
She focused all her attention on fighting the Zombie leader, so naturally, she couldn’t worry about Sheldon Reid.
Fortunately, he wasn’t completely helpless.
Although his arms were practically useless, his legs were perfectly fine, and his leg skills were not to be underestimated. He dodged a Zombie’s Fireball, then sent his opponent flying into a wall with a flurry of kicks. Closing the distance instantly, he raised his knife and chopped the Zombie’s head off!
However, his arms still hadn’t recovered. After two or three more kills like that, they felt incredibly weak, and he had to resort to dodging.
None of the remaining Zombies were the speed-type, which worked to his advantage.
Paige Summers realized he was in grave danger and knew she couldn’t drag this out any longer. ’If this guy dies, all that medicine will have been wasted!’
Her mind made up, she began looking for an opportunity to use her Poisonous Liquid.
A perfect opportunity presented itself!
Seeing her shift to a defensive stance, the Zombie leader seemed to think she was running out of stamina. It grew even more excited, opening its mouth to let out a strange "HEH HEH" cackle...
Paige Summers seized that very instant. She feigned having her long knife knocked out of her hand, but instead of retreating, she surged forward. Activating her Poison Ability, she swiped her fingertips through the air and across its wide-open mouth!
One or two drops of the Poisonous Liquid successfully flew into its mouth, and the Zombie leader immediately sensed something was wrong.
It let out a great roar and suddenly unleashed a superpower it hadn’t used before. All the loose stones in the area were swept up as if by a hurricane, flying violently toward Paige Summers!
Paige Summers was horrified.
In such a small space, she had absolutely nowhere to dodge!
’Am I going to die just like this?’
’Die in this dark, underground corner?’
’No! Absolutely not!’
She gritted her teeth and, instead of dodging, charged forward!
She exploded with unprecedented speed. Slippery as an eel in water, she slid past it with a single movement, sticking to the Zombie leader’s back like a shadow.
She was so close she could smell the overwhelming stench of rot coming off its body.
It was truly suffocating!
But she didn’t hesitate for a second.
’Right now, the safest place is the eye of the storm!’
She stuck to it like a shadow. No matter how the Zombie leader tried to shake her off, she refused to give up her position!
In truth, the Zombie no longer had much energy to spare for her.
It howled in agony, its cries growing increasingly shrill!
The conflicting energy within its body reached a chaotic peak. It no longer cared about its surroundings; it just wanted to frantically burn off all this energy!
It seemed to be the only way to relieve the discomfort in its body.
At first, it was only loose chunks of earth, but soon, entire sections of the surrounding dirt walls began to shake!
Cracks visibly spiderwebbed across them.
In just over ten seconds, the walls shattered completely. The Zombie leader’s superpower seized the massive chunks of earth, sending them hurtling wildly in every direction!
As chunks of earth flew about, Paige Summers felt the ground beneath her grow unsteady.
Her heart sank.
’Is this... going to collapse?’
’No wonder these Zombies didn’t use their superpowers before!’
’It wasn’t that they couldn’t, but that this cavern is just too unstable!’
She didn’t know if she should regret her actions, but it was clear the situation was now beyond anyone’s control—it had become complete chaos!
As a massive RUMBLE grew from a distant roar to a deafening noise all around her, she realized her worst fear was coming to pass.
The cavern was beginning to collapse entirely...
The scene was one of utter chaos. The remaining Zombies began to let out mournful wails, the sound so piercing it made one’s head spin, and it seemed to only hasten the collapse of earth and stone.
After a moment of panic, Paige Summers noticed that the Zombie leader in front of her had paused for several seconds. As if it had regained its senses, it turned and ran toward the other Zombies.
An idea struck her, and she hurried to follow it.

Amidst the chaos, they exchanged a look and almost simultaneously dropped into a crouch near the Zombie leader, covering their heads.
The roar of the collapse was deafening. A sky-blotting deluge of earth and stone came crashing down upon them!

A tremendous amount of energy seemed to erupt from its hands, casting a brilliant radiance throughout the dim, collapsing cavern!
