Chapter 88: Chapter 88 A promising future.

She just remembered she hasn’t checked on her livestock’s, her farm since she had set everything. Yeah the system was responsible for the wetting of plants all these days as well as the feeding of her livestock’s but then she believed she should have atleast checked for once. Check their growth, the progress of everything.

Without hesitation, Ivy stood up from the couch with a chicken lap in mouth which she was still devouring.

Checking on the livestock she had bought was important. Extremely important. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓

Quickly slipping on her slippers, Ivy headed outside once more.

The night air greeted her almost immediately as she made her way toward the farming area.

Even from afar, Ivy could already tell that the entire base was steadily improving.

The once empty and lifeless area was slowly transforming into something far more organized and alive. The fences stood firm, the farm looked healthier.

Still, Ivy moved closer so she could inspect everything properly with her own eyes.

The first thing that caught her attention was the chicken coop but before she got there, she made sure she finished devouring the chicken lap as if the chickens seeing her it will recognize that sfe was actually eating one of their kind.

The thought was funny, almost making her laugh but she controlled it abd still did it anyways. Devoured the chicken lap completely before stepping closer.

Cheep! Cheep! Cheep!

Tiny chirping sounds instantly filled the air.

Ivy’s eyes softened almost immediately with a warm smile plasterd on her lips.

"The eggs hatched already?" she whispered in surprise. "When did the chickens even lay eggs? I wasn’t available to watch. How irresponsible of me."

Several tiny chicks were now moving around energetically, fluffing their little feathers while running around clumsily.

A warm smile slowly spread across Ivy’s lips.

Carefully, she bent down before gently picking one of the chicks up into her palm.

The tiny creature chirped loudly while wriggling adorably in her hand. She then went ahead and pick another, then three, four till her hands were filled with chickens all chirping lowly.

However, the mother hen instantly became alert.

Cluck! Cluck! Cluck!

The hen puffed itself up protectively and moved closer aggressively as though preparing to attack Ivy at any second for touching her baby.

Seeing this made Ivy laugh softly.

"Alright, alright," she said with a light chuckle."I’m not stealing your child."

The mother hen still glared at her suspiciously.

Honestly, Ivy understood completely.

If someone randomly carried one of her own children away, she wouldn’t react kindly either.

No matter whether human or animal, mothers were all the same by nature.

Protective....loving and willing to fight for their young.

The thought caused Ivy’s expression to soften further. Everything she was doing was because of her children too anyways. She never wanted them to experience the same hardship in the apocalypse like their first life. If they were given this second life...then it’s to live a good life and Ivy was determined to make sure of that.

Carefully, she lowered the chick back down beside its mother.

"There you go."

The hen immediately guided the chick back toward the others while still keeping a cautious eye on Ivy.

After leaving the chicken coop, Ivy made her way toward the goat enclosure next.

The moment she entered, the goats began moving around.

Ivy crouched slightly beside one of the female goats before inspecting it carefully.

Her eyes lit up instantly.

"They’re close..."

The mammary glands were visibly swollen now, a clear sign that milk production would begin very soon.

Excitement immediately filled Ivy’s chest.

Fresh milk would be incredibly valuable moving forward, especially for Hope who wouldn’t feed on beast milk forever.

Gently, Ivy rubbed the goat’s head affectionately while carefully feeling the swollen glands.

"They feel heavy already," she murmured thoughtfully.

The goat bleated softly while nudging against her hand.

Ivy chuckled quietly before standing back to her full height.

Everything was progressing even better than she expected.

Soon after, she headed toward the farm section where she had planted vegetables earlier.

The moment she arrived, Ivy’s eyes widened slightly again.

The vegetables were thriving beautifully. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

Fresh green leaves swayed gently while several crops already looked mature enough to harvest.

A much wider smile appeared on Ivy’s face.

Seeing the healthy vegetables standing proudly in neat rows filled her with indescribable satisfaction.

This was proof that all her hard work was paying off.

She no longer had to rely entirely on scavenging dangerous cities for food.

Little by little, she was building a stable life.

A real home.

After checking the farm, Ivy continued toward the ponds.

The moment she looked into the water, genuine surprise flashed across her face.

The fish she had bought earlier were no longer tiny.

They had grown considerably bigger and healthier, swimming actively through the water in large groups.

"They adapted this quickly?" Ivy muttered in disbelief.

The water system was functioning perfectly, and the fish looked far healthier than she had anticipated.

"This is perfect..." Ivy said softly while letting out a long relieved sigh.
