Chapter 81: Chapter 81 Monster inhibitor.

Ivy’s gaze lingered on Aria for a while before she finally turned her attention back to the system interface before her.

"Alright then, System," Ivy finally replied with a heavy sigh. "Anyways, I know I don’t currently have enough coins to purchase items from the system shop, but I just want to glance through it so as to set certain goals for myself and know how many coins I’ll need to achieve those goals."

"Goods in the system shop are meant to be bought afterall."

Her expression turned serious.

"I don’t need basic stuff. I need rare items that’ll actually help with the apocalypse. I know the rare item shop is locked. What I mean by rare is important item for survival so I think that should be under the survival category," Ivy added, seriousness etched into her tone.

Ding!

{Sure! Displaying rare items in the system shop survival category that will help with the apocalypse.}

Immediately, the system interface appeared before Ivy, showcasing rows of available goods.

Her gaze soon landed on an item called Monster Inhibitor which ste hasn’t seen before, and the moment she saw the price, her mouth widened in shock and utter disbelief.

100,000,000 points.

"A hundred million points? So fucking expensive," Ivy murmured under her breath, swallowing hard. "No wonder the system didn’t put it in the front row."

Her brows furrowed deeply.

"What exactly is it meant to do?"

Ding!

The system interface flickered slightly, as though amused by Ivy’s visible shock.

{Displaying information for item: Monster Inhibitor.}

A new translucent panel expanded before her eyes.

[Monster Inhibitor....Rare Grade Support Item despite the fact that it’s in the survival category. It’s actually a rare item]

Price: 100,000,000 points

Category: Territory Defense / Suppression Tool

{A specialized device designed to suppress hostile mutations, monster evolution, and aggressive instincts within a designated radius.}

{Its functions include:}

{Aggression Suppression .... Weakens the violent tendencies of nearby monsters, reducing the chances of sudden attacks, frenzy states, or stampedes. Lower-level monsters may even become temporarily docile.}

{Evolution Delay .... Slows down mutation and rank advancement of monsters within its area of effect. This prevents low-tier creatures from rapidly evolving into higher-tier threats.}

{Territory Stabilization .... Creates a suppression field around a chosen zone, making it less detectable and less attractive to monsters with heightened senses.} frёewebnoѵēl.com

{Horde Disruption ..... Interferes with monster pheromone signals, mana signatures, or hive communication systems, making coordinated attacks less effective.}

{Limitations include: Cannot completely suppress boss-class or calamity-level monsters. Requires a large energy source or periodic recharging, and effectiveness decreases against monsters above the user’s territory level.}

{Recommended Usage: Install around settlements, shelters, farms, or safe zones to increase long-term survival rates.}

Ivy stared blankly at the floating description, momentarily speechless.

Her lips parted slightly.

"So basically..." she muttered, her eyes widening with realization. "This thing can practically turn my territory into a safer zone and stop monsters from evolving too fast?" freёweɓnovel.com

{Correct.}

{Monster Inhibitor is considered one of the most valuable early-to-mid apocalypse territorial assets.}

Ivy nearly choked.

"Early-to-mid?!" she repeated, her voice rising in disbelief. "And you call one hundred million points early-to-mid?! Are you trying to rob me blind?!"

Lila blinked up at her mother with innocent confusion.

"Mommy, who are you shouting at?" Aria and Lila asked together, their voices pulling Ivy back to reality. "Are you okay?"

Ivy immediately coughed and quickly straightened her posture.

"No one, sweethearts," she replied with a reassuring smile. "Just continue playing with Sunny. Mommy is fine."

Only then did Lila and Aria shift their attention back to Sunny.

Internally, however, Ivy’s thoughts were in complete chaos.

A suppression field... delayed evolution... safer farms... reduced attacks...

It’s expensive but then if she could somehow get her hands on something like that, then surviving long-term with her children would become far more realistic.

Yes, the System had stated that she had been granted a longer life in the apocalypse, but that alone meant very little.

One still had to work towards survival.

There was no point in having a longer lifespan only to spend those extra years suffering miserably in the apocalypse.

No.

If she was going to survive in this second life, then she intended to do so properly.

Her gaze sharpened as she looked back at the system interface.

"One hundred million is insane," she muttered, folding her arms across her chest. "But if that thing is really as useful as you claim..."

A thoughtful look crossed her face as her mind rapidly calculated the amount of work it would take to earn such an outrageous number of points.

Even so, she couldn’t deny the usefulness of the item.

Something capable of suppressing monsters and delaying their evolution was practically priceless in a world like this.

No wonder it cost such an absurd amount.

Still...

The price was painful enough to make her soul tremble.

A determined glint soon flashed in her eyes.

"Then it officially goes on my must-buy list."
