Chapter 35: Chapter 35 Fuck! That hurts!
It was only the third day of the apocalypse.
And already... the world was unraveling faster than anyone could have imagined.
The water supply had been cut off in many areas.
Countless monsters killed by the military had ended up contaminating large bodies of water, their corpses floating across the surface and spreading infection at an alarming rate.
For now, electricity and the internet were still functioning.
But Ivy knew better.
“They won’t last,” she murmured quietly to herself, her eyes dimming slightly as a heavy sense of certainty settled in her chest.
At best... six months.
That was all the world had before everything would plunge into darkness.
Complete, suffocating darkness.
But even that estimate felt uncertain.
Because this timeline... wasn’t the same as her past life.
And that realization terrified her more than anything.
In her previous life, the area she had been in managed to maintain electricity for about three months before everything collapsed entirely.
“Hey! Please help us! We’ve been stuck in here for two days! What the hell is going on?!” a man shouted in a shaky, desperate voice in one of the videos.
Ivy paused and watched.
The camera shook violently, revealing a frightened man and his visibly pregnant wife sitting behind him. Fear was written all over their faces, their eyes darting nervously as if expecting death at any second.
“This feels like a nightmare... please... someone help us,” he added, his voice cracking completely toward the end.
Ivy’s grip on the tablet tightened slightly, her fingers pressing into the edges.
She scrolled further.
“Is this some kind of monster apocalypse?!” another voice exclaimed in a different video.
It was a student, surrounded by a group of others trapped inside a classroom, the desks barricaded against the doors.
“I’ve only seen things like this in movies... never in real life!” he continued, panic thick in his tone as others behind him cried and shouted.
Another comment popped up beneath the video:
“They said we’d be rescued, but it’s already day three! There’s still nothing!”
“I’m running out of bottled water and food... I might die before the monsters even find me.”
Ivy’s expression darkened further as she read through the endless stream of messages, each one more desperate than the last.
Then her gaze landed on a newly uploaded video.
Posted just five minutes ago.
A young lady appeared on the screen, her face pale but determined despite the fear flickering in her eyes.
According to the caption, she was about to go out in search of food after running out of supplies.
Ivy froze.
“...Scarlett?”
The name struck something deep within her memory.
It rang a bell.
A very important one.
But instead of dwelling on it too long, Ivy quickly moved to the comment section.
Her fingers hovered over the screen for a brief second before she began typing.
“Make sure you prepare yourself properly,” Ivy typed, her expression serious and focused, her brows slightly furrowed.
“Wear a helmet if you have one. Protect your arms and legs with anything thick enough to prevent bites or tears.”
She paused briefly, rereading her words, then continued.
“Arm yourself with a gun if possible. If not, use knives or even pepper spray... anything that can slow them down or blind them long enough for you to escape.”
Her fingers moved faster now, urgency subtly seeping into her typing.
“A single person cannot take down a monster alone, especially without proper weapons or training in combat.”
She exhaled softly, her eyes hardening as she continued.
“Everything I’ve listed is for your survival, not for fighting. Focus on protecting yourself and finding a chance to run once you encounter a monster.”
There was a brief pause before she typed the final line.
“Please... be safe.”

She had seen a glimpse of herself in the girl... that was probably why she had offered those tips without hesitation.
Whether the girl would understand... or even choose to listen, was entirely up to her.
With that thought lingering in her mind, Ivy decided to retire to bed.
It wasn’t as though she could undergo any form of training right now. Despite the enhanced strength flowing through her body, she still had to think about the baby growing inside her.
It wasn’t even that late into the night, yet the low, guttural growls of monsters echoed faintly in the distance. Heavy, earth-shaking footsteps followed, accompanied by the piercing screams of people fighting for their lives somewhere far beyond the bunker walls.
And yet... none of it reached her.
The bunker was completely soundproof.
Ivy had made sure of that, especially for her children. She didn’t want them asking questions... didn’t want fear planting itself in their young minds too early.
The only way she could detect danger was through the system. If a monster came close, she would be notified instantly. She could also monitor everything through the interface whenever she chose to.
So for now... there was silence.

Or at least, the illusion of it.
“Ouch...!”
Ivy’s eyes snapped open as a sharp, sudden pain tore through her abdomen.
Her body jerked violently, instinctively curling as the sensation spread—intense, burning, and unrelenting.
“Fuck... that hurts!” she gasped sharply, her voice breaking through the stillness.
Her breathing instantly turned uneven, rising in quick, shallow bursts as another wave of pain hit her even harder than the first.
Her fingers gripped the sheets tightly, knuckles whitening as she tried to steady herself—but the pain only deepened, spreading like wildfire through her lower body...
