Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Raiding the mall
Oh, fuck this.
Ivy cursed under her breath, dragging a hand through her hair as she forced her attention back to the mall. The place was massive.....rows upon rows of goods stretching endlessly, each section meticulously arranged as though the world hadn’t already begun to fall apart.
"Well, since I’m already here," she muttered quietly, her lips curling with a hint of defiance, "I might as well take everything."
Her gaze shifted, landing on a glass display filled with jewelry....dazzling pieces of diamonds, gold, and silver arranged in neat, seductive rows. Each item had a price tag hanging beneath it.
One million dollars, Ten million dollars and even more.
A hollow scoff escaped her throat.
Money. Completely useless now.
She couldn’t help but feel pity for the rich especially. Those who have lots of houses, cars which is going to get ruined with the apocalypse. Everything they have built in years would be destroyed just in a day.
Ding!
{Your time starts now, Host.}
{Two hours remaining.}
"Oh, yeah... yeah. Thank you," Ivy murmured dryly, exhaling a heavy sigh as she rolled her eyes. "Two hours. After that, I can leave this place and go back... back to my children."
For a brief second, her expression softened but only for a moment. Then it hardened again, determination settling deep in her bones.
She was currently in the luxury fashion section, so she decided to start there.
Without wasting another second, Ivy lifted her hand and pointed at the first shelf.
Instantly, the system responded.
One by one, the jewelry pieces vanished....silently extracted as if they had never existed. Diamonds, gold chains, silver bracelets... everything disappeared in rapid succession.
Ivy moved swiftly from shelf to shelf, her finger acting like a command. Point. Extract. Move. Repeat.
Within minutes, the once glittering display was reduced to nothing but empty glass cases.
"Good," she muttered under her breath, not even sparing it a second glance before turning away.
Next was cosmetics.
She stepped into another aisle, eyes scanning familiar luxury brands....Prada, Gucci, and several other high-end names. Lipsticks, foundations, perfumes, skincare products....everything arranged in flawless rows.
"Don’t mind if I do," she said lightly, a faint smirk tugging at her lips.
Again, she began pointing and the system obeyed without hesitation.
Shelves emptied at an alarming speed, products vanishing in batches until not a single item remained. The once vibrant section quickly turned dull and hollow.
From there, she moved on to high-quality bags....designer handbags of every size and color. Then outfits. Expensive shoes. Perfumes.
Everything.
She didn’t skip a single thing.
By the time she was done, the entire fashion section looked like it had been looted by an invisible force. Bare shelves. Empty racks. Silence. frёewebηovel.cѳm
Only then did Ivy make her way toward the electronics section.
Her pace didn’t slow.
"Let’s see..." she murmured, eyes scanning the area before she began again.
Point.
Extract.
Freezers vanished as well as ovens, refrigerators, microwaves, washing machines....all gone in seconds.
The entire section was stripped clean under her command.
It would be a waste not to take everything. Ivy thought, exhaling softly as she glanced around at the growing emptiness. The apocalypse is already here. If I don’t take them, they’ll just rot... or be destroyed anyway.
There was no guilt in her expression....only cold, practical reasoning.
Ding!
{One hour remaining, Host.}
"Oh, come on..." she muttered, irritation flashing across her face. "The system’s time runs faster than real time here. It hasn’t even been thirty minutes."
But then it’s okay. I want to be out of here on time anyways. She added Inwardly with a heavy sigh.
With a deep breath, Ivy straightened slightly, her eyes sharpening once more as she prepared to move to the next section.
The supermarket section.
Shelves soon began to empty at a terrifying speed.
Cans, bottled drinks, snacks, frozen foods....everything vanished as if swallowed by an invisible force. In mere seconds, entire rows were wiped clean, leaving behind nothing but hollow, abandoned racks.
Time was ticking.
Not wanting to risk delay, Ivy strapped on a skates, using them to boost her speed and not even minding her pregnancy as she already had enhanced strength hence she couldn’t fall easily. The smooth glide allowed her to move swiftly across the tiled floors, her figure flashing from one aisle to another like a phantom.
Section after section fell.
Within minutes, the once fully stocked supermarket looked like it had been looted by an army.
Yet Ivy didn’t stop.
By the time she swept through the final section of the mall, her breathing had quickened slightly, but her eyes burned with determination.
Just as she thought she was done and began walking down the hallway and paused as her gaze locked onto a large metallic door.
The warehouse.
