Chapter 16: Chapter 16 Do you want to help mommy plant some crops?
She led Ivy toward the back of the store.
With each step, the environment shifted.
The fresh scent of plants faded, replaced by the heavier, earthy smell of animals.
Soon, they arrived.
Rows of enclosures filled the space.
Chickens clucked noisily inside their cages.
Ducks waddled and quacked.
Cows stood lazily, chewing in slow, rhythmic motions.
Pigs snorted and shuffled about in their pens.
"Oh, good," Ivy said softly, a satisfied smile forming on her lips as she took everything in.
"I’ll take one hundred chickens," she said calmly. "one hundred ducks as well."
The sales rep began writing.
Ivy continued without pause.
"Fifty different types of edible fish....fifty of each type. Fifty shrimps. Fifty crabs. And ten lamb."
"And then," Ivy added, as though the previous list wasn’t already overwhelming, "five hundred grams of pork, and two hundred and fifty grams of beef."
Ivy exhaled softly, her expression steady.
"And I assume you also run a farm tool section? Or will I need to go elsewhere?"
"Oh! We do, ma’am," the saleswoman replied quickly, snapping back into full professionalism as she finished writing ."What exactly do you need?"
"Hoes, shovels... everything," Ivy said simply. "Give me fifty pieces of each farming tool you have."
"...Alright, ma’am," the woman said, nodding slowly.
She quickly began jotting everything down, though her hands were no longer as steady as before, and she was soon done.
"Kindly wait here while I arrange your order."
"I’ll leave an address for delivery," Ivy added, her tone soft but firm. "Once everything has been calculated, send me the total price. I’ll make the payment immediately."
There was no point waiting as she still got other tasks to do.
The saleswoman nodded again.
"Alright, ma’am." freewebnσvel.cѳm
There was a pause before the sales rep spoke again, this time with a more hesitant, concerned expression.
"Ma’am... if you don’t mind me saying... it would really be best if you stay indoors for now."
Ivy glanced at her.
"There’s a flu spreading around," the woman continued, her voice lowering slightly. "And from what we’ve been hearing... it doesn’t seem like the regular kind. You’re pregnant....you need to protect yourself and your baby until the government figures something out. Everyone is putting on nose mask, but we know that isn’t doing anything, so please be careful."
"This is what we advise our customers to do. I’ll drop our farm store contact in case you need anything else. It’ll be delivered to you once you make an order rather than coming down here. I hope you understand me ma’am?."
Ivy placed a hand over her stomach.
"Yes... you’re right," she said aloud with a small, polite smile."Thank you."
"I’m sorry if I’m overstepping." The sales rep added quickly.
"No, it’s fine. Thank you for your concern," Ivy replied warmly.
After dropping the delivery address, she turned and made her way out of the farm store after making sure her face mask was properly secured on her face.

Her next stop was another store, where she purchased several baseball bats for personal defense.
At the very least, these will help for now, she thought.
Probably what the farm store sales rep had said got to her even though it was not supposed to as she got her system with her.
And once the apocalypse began fully...she wouldn’t even take a baseball bat with her if she was to go out. There was no fucking way those would kill monsters taller than a truck and even wider than them. Monsters who are basically giants.
Is this my pregnancy hormones again? Oh fuck it! Ivy thought Inwardly with a heavy sigh.
Once she was done purchasing things she considered not really, Ivy headed toward a secluded location far from her air raid shelter....one she had already prepared for receiving deliveries.
The driver arrived not long after, unloading the last batch of goods onto the ground.
He wiped sweat from his forehead and glanced at her car, clearly puzzled.
"Ma’am... how exactly do you plan to move all of these farm produce to your house?" he asked, gesturing at the massive pile of supplies. "You only came with a car."
He gazed around and let out a heavy sigh. The address Ivy left was actually the middle of nowhere. There was no houses, no people.
"And this place is dangerous. You shouldn’t stay long here as a pregnant woman." The driver added.
Ivy gave a calm smile.
"You don’t have to worry about that. Some trailers will be arriving soon to transport everything."
The driver nodded, though he still looked doubtful.
"Alright then, ma’am. Have a great day ahead."
Once he left and disappeared completely from sight...
Ivy’s expression shifted.
Without hesitation, she raised her hand slightly....
And in an instant, everything vanished.
Every crate, every cage, every piece of equipment was pulled into her system storage space.
Not a single trace was left behind.
And with that...she finally got into her car and began driving home.

"Mommy!!"
Lila and Aria’s voices rang out at the same time the moment Ivy walked in.
They ran toward her excitedly.
Ivy immediately knelt down, opening her arms as they crashed into her embrace.
"Do my little angels miss me?" she asked, raising a brow playfully.
The two girls nodded eagerly.
"Of course we did!"
"Anyways," Ivy continued, brushing their hair gently, "since you’re both awake... do you want to help Mommy plant some crops? You both used to love watering the tomatoes back at your daddy’s house, remember?"
There was really no time for delay. Not when she had just found out that the previous system timeline was different from the current one.
And besides it’ll be good to do it with them. It can be considered something fun. Ivy thought inwardly with a smile on her face.
"Yes, Mommy!" Lila replied instantly, already bouncing with excitement. "Let’s go!"
"I want to take a shower first, sweetie," Ivy said softly.
"No!" Aria protested, grabbing one of Ivy’s hands. "You’ll just get dirty again, Mommy. Let’s plant first, then you can shower!"
Oh yeah! Aria had always loved farming. It was expected that she’d want to get to it immediately after Ivy mentioned it.
Lila grabbed her other hand.
Together, they pulled her toward the exit.
Ivy couldn’t help but laugh lightly. "Alright, alright..."
The moment they stepped outside....
"Oh my goodness, Mommy!" Lila gasped, her eyes widening at the sight of the chickens in their cages.
Ivy had made sure to lay out everything she had gotten from the farm before her children came outside.
Among them were both full-grown chickens and tiny chicks.
Ivy had intentionally bought a few chicks... twenty in total and the adult ones were eighty locked in a different cage.
And just as expected, Lila ran straight toward them, carefully picking one of the chicks up with both hands.
"Mommy, its fur is so soft!" she squealed. "I want to name them. They’ll be living with us after all."
Yeah. Till they grow and we eat them. Ivy thought inwardly as she swallowed hard.
Roasted chickens...
Fried chicken...
