Chapter 140: Chapter 140 I’m not done creating monsters!
"What?! Did they hear us or not?" a bald-headed man exclaimed, terror written all over his face as he watched Ivy and Darren continue walking toward the armored vehicle without even glancing in their direction.
"Maybe they didn’t hear us, Mr. Andrew," one of the women among the survivors suggested hopefully. "We should shout again."
Immediately, several others nodded in agreement.
"Please help us!"
"Kindly help us, please!"
"Please don’t leave us behind!" fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
Their desperate cries echoed across the factory grounds.
Yet there was still no response.
Ivy and Darren continued toward the armored vehicle as though the frantic voices behind them did not exist.
The sight made Andrew’s face redden with fury.
"Motherfuckers..." he cursed under his breath.
The moment Ivy and Darren climbed into the armored vehicle, Andrew activated his earth ability.
Small rocks and chunks of concrete immediately rose from the ground and locked themselves around the vehicle’s tires.
Inside the vehicle, Darren frowned.
"What the hell is this?" he muttered.
He pressed the accelerator, but the armored vehicle refused to move.
The tires remained firmly trapped.
Darren let out an incredulous scoff.
"Seriously?"
A second later, loud growls suddenly filled the air.
The chilling sounds caused both Darren and Ivy to turn toward the source.
Their expressions darkened instantly.
Several factory gates had been thrown wide open.
Monsters that had either been trapped inside or sleeping in the dark corners of the factory were now flooding out in large numbers.
Ivy narrowed her eyes.
She had previously scanned the area and detected no immediate threats nearby.
Apparently, many of the creatures had been hidden inside the sealed factory buildings.
"If you won’t help us, then die with the monsters, you motherfuckers!" Andrew shouted from the rooftop.
Then, as though he had completely lost his mind, he turned around, pulled down his trousers, and exposed his backside to them.
He even began swaying it mockingly.
The female survivors with children immediately covered their children’s eyes.
Several parents hurriedly shielded their children from the disgraceful sight.
Meanwhile, some of Andrew’s supporters erupted into cheers.
"That’s right!"
"They deserve it!"
"If they won’t save us, they can die with the monsters!"
Their voices mixed with the distant growls of approaching creatures.
However, not everyone agreed.
"You should stop this madness."
A woman holding her child tightly against her chest stepped forward.
Her voice trembled slightly, but her eyes remained firm.
"It isn’t their responsibility to help us if they don’t want to. They must have their own reasons."
The rooftop fell silent.
Andrew slowly turned his head toward her.
"What did you just say?" he asked coldly.
The woman instantly felt a chill run down her spine as Andrew began walking toward her.
His expression was frighteningly dark.
She swallowed hard.
"D...Did you just say I’m acting crazy?" he asked.
The woman forced herself not to back away.
"I’m only saying this isn’t worth it," she replied quietly.
Before Andrew could respond, another survivor stepped forward.
A middle-aged man with a weary face looked directly at Andrew.
"I support what she said."
Andrew’s eyes narrowed.
The man continued.
"There’s nothing to gain from turning them into monsters."
He pointed toward the factory below.
"You’ve already created enough monsters. Those creatures down there are people who could have survived if you hadn’t used them as shield to save yourself from monsters."
The surrounding survivors lowered their heads.
Many of them knew he was right.
The man continued speaking.
"How many more monsters do you plan to create? Isn’t this enough already? Instead of hurting each other, we should be protecting one another."
"Protecting one another?" Andrew repeated with a sneer.
A mocking laugh escaped his mouth.
"You talk about protection?"
He stepped closer.
"Have you even managed to protect yourself, you coward?"
The man clenched his fists but remained silent.
Andrew then shifted his gaze toward Ivy and Darren.
By now, Ivy had already activated several mounted weapons on the armored vehicle.
Gunfire erupted as monsters began dropping one after another.
The rocks trapping the vehicle were rapidly being shattered.
Andrew’s expression twisted with hatred.
"You asked how many more monsters I want to create?"
A sinister smile slowly spread across his face.
"Well, the answer is simple."
His eyes swept across the crowd.
"I’m not done creating monsters."
The survivors immediately felt their hearts sink.
Andrew then turned toward the strongest men standing among the crowd....the ones who had always followed his orders without question.
A cruel glint flashed through his eyes.
"Throw them down."
The survivors who had spoken against him froze in horror.
"W...What?"
"No!"
"You can’t do this!"
Panic instantly spread through the rooftop.
Several strong men moved forward and grabbed the woman holding her child, along with the middle-aged man and a few others who had dared oppose Andrew.
"No! Let us go!"
"Please!"
"We didn’t do anything wrong!"
The woman desperately shielded her child as tears streamed down her face.
"Please, my child! At least spare my child!"
The little boy began crying loudly.
The heartbreaking cries echoed through the rooftop.
But Andrew showed no sympathy.
His followers dragged the struggling survivors toward the edge of the rooftop.
Some kicked and fought.
Others begged.
A few collapsed to their knees and pleaded for mercy.
Yet every plea fell on deaf ears.
The edge of the rooftop grew closer with every passing second.
Below them, countless monsters roamed about, their hungry growls rising into the air.
One look downward was enough to fill anyone with despair.
The survivors knew that if they were thrown down there, death would be the least terrifying outcome.
Because death wasn’t guaranteed.
Becoming one of those monsters was.
