Chapter 86: Leaving the Willowmere Town

Max rested and logged out once the time limit was up.

It was exactly 12am that he climbed out of his gaming pod and his younger brother was still studying in his desk.

Max glanced at him before proceeding to eat first.

His stomach was already grumbling. He had not eaten for the past twelve hours.

He was also on an intermitted diet, so he had an excuse for his irregular eating habits.

When he was finished, his younger brother had also stopped studying and was now sleeping.

Max decided to exercise for half an hour, take a shower, and finally go to sleep.

...

Max woke up at 7am in the morning.

Just because his gaming pod recharged for 4 hours doesn’t mean he planned to abandon the beauty of rest.

When he woke up, he didn’t even dive into the game first, eating and exercising were his main priority.

He couldn’t afford to neglect his health.

He logged in the game at 8am.

It was already noon that he returned to the game.

He didn’t dilly-dally and left the room, meeting with the soldier, who led him the way to the horse stables of the Town.

Max met with his horses after a week of not seeing each other.

When he saw them, he smiled.

The two horses were acting like king and queen among the other horses in the fields.

Their chins were high and their gazes were lofty.

Max wouldn’t be surprised if they had already built their kingdom.

The soldier walked towards the Stable Manager and informed that Max’s horses to be released for him.

The Stable Manager instantly understood Max’s significance and personally visited the field.

The two horses were confused at first why a weak human were trying to grab their reins and lead them somewhere when they caught Max’s presence.

They were overjoyed, jumping around as they sprinted towards Max.

They jumped over a five-meters fence easily, causing the Stable Manager’s mouth to turn agape.

He was already aware of how extraordinary the horses were due to the amount of runes in their body that only an Archmage could achieve.

Yet for an ordinary horses to jump over a five-meters fence was still astounding.

Max caressed the horses’ mouth and said, "We’ll continue our travel now."

The horses nodded and the male horse willingly lowered his back.

Max jumped and sat on his back, finding comfort in his position.

He said, "You two won’t be bidding farewell to your friends?"

The other horses in the field stared at them with teary eyes.

Max’s horses simply snorted and turned around, leaving the horse stables.

Max smiled and lingered his gaze on the other horses.

When his horses’ head were out of their vision, they suddenly rejoiced, jumping around while tears overflowing from their eyes.

Max laughed to his heart’s content as they finally left the horse stables.

Max bid farewell to Sergeant Roland first.

He didn’t want to leave a bad impression on him.

Sergeant Roland wanted to keep Max at first, inviting him for dinner and other celebrations as the town’s festival was about to conclude, but Max politely rejected him, reluctantly accepting his farewell.

Before Max left, Sergeant Roland asked if he would be bringing Relay Master Cedric with him, as he still had not found a suitable individual to replace him. frёeωebɳovel.com

Max smiled and assured he didn’t need him for now.

Max planned to return to Greyfen Village as it would be the first village in the Mirefall Province to bear the first wave of the demonic invasion in the world’s event.

He would also receive the rewards on his national contribution from Lieutenant Garrick’s letter and from the recent event.

He prayed it would be enough to receive the title, Imperial Officer—a major rank title higher than Elite Contributor.

Archmage Arlen was also an Imperial Officer.

An Imperial Officer would be granted a chance to command over NPC soldiers.

If Max wanted to obtain all the rewards from the world’s event, he definitely required the assistance of NPC soldiers.

If they were commanded under him, their contribution became his.

His eyes sparkled just the thought of it.

Also, I’ve discovered Malveris’ presence. This contribution should be enough.

Max was lost in his thoughts as he finally passed through the east gate.

...

The east gate led to the next town, the Rivermarch Town, which was approximately 40–50 km.

The road leading to the Rivermarch Town was known as Silver Road, a stone-paved imperial highway.

At this point, the road was now more visible because the place was unlike the marshlands surrounding Greyfen.

It was now called the Silverflow Basin.

The basin represented one of the most stable and developed areas within Mirefall Province. It served as the province’s primary agricultural, logistical, and transportation corridor.

The basin was formed by the Silverflow River, a wide freshwater river originating from the western highlands and flowing southward through Mirefall Province.

The river itself ranges between 50 and 200 meters wide depending on the season.

The terrain was gentle. There were fertile flood plains, numerous tributaries, stable mana density, and low incidence of demon corruption.

After all, the Silverflow Basin was now located in the Central Mirefall Province.

Even monsters were rare, only being spared by the human experts to temper the future generations by fighting them.

Through horseback, Max would arrive in the Rivermarch Town in one day.

Max left the east gate and the Golden Fields entered his view.

The vast stretches of cultivated farmland captivated him.

The fields were divided into large agricultural estates protected by local militias.

The fields has irrigation canals, farmsteads, windmills, and storage granaries.

The Golden Fields were definitely protected that no monsters came into Max’s view.

There were settlements such as villages and hamlets scattered in the Golden Fields.

They were obviously farmers.

Max enjoyed the view and the travel itself that he didn’t even log out.

When night arrived, he finally reached the largest section of the basin.

The Rivermeadow Plains...
