Gao Yuanshan, who had fallen from the sky, wasn’t quite dead yet. His long wings flapped a few times, making Zhang Aihua and the others jump in fright.
Brother Qiu said tremblingly, "President Zhang, he’s still alive! He’s a living bird-man!" Then he added cautiously, "Should we... finish him off?"
President Zhang had seen his fair share of mutated creatures, so he remained calm enough to say, "Let’s wait for Jiang Si to get here before we do anything."
Jiang Si was the one who had taken this bird-man down. It would be a problem if they killed him, only for her to have questions to ask.
Soon, Jiang Si landed the helicopter on the snow not far from them. A monkey jumped down from the aircraft with her, gun in hand, looking absolutely murderous.
The sight instantly reminded Brother Qiu of the terror he’d felt when the Monkey King had held a gun to his head.
Jiang Si quickly met up with Qin Shen, who was walking over. The two of them were like a picture-perfect couple, yet they also resembled two gods of death emerging from the gates of hell, exuding a cold, unapproachable aura.
President Zhang started to say something, but thought better of it.
He had just witnessed Jiang Si’s skills firsthand.
Even the most elite special forces soldiers probably couldn’t match her piloting skills.

Jiang Si glanced at Zhang Aihua and his men before her gaze landed on Gao Yuanshan, whose back was turned to them.
As a precaution, they shot him with a tranquilizer before Qin Shen hoisted him onto his shoulder.
Zhang Aihua glanced at the vultures scattering in the sky, then asked, "Miss Jiang, is there anything we can do to help?"
Jiang Si shook her head. "Not right now. You should focus on your own safety. Things probably won’t be quiet around here anymore."
Zhang Aihua’s heart sank. After a moment of hesitation, he asked, "Miss Jiang, are you planning on leaving?"
Jiang Si thought for a moment. "We’re still making plans, but it’s a possibility."
Hearing this, Brother Qiu and the others looked crestfallen. "But why?" Brother Qiu asked, confused. "Hasn’t the bird-man been killed?"
Zhang Aihua held up a hand to silence them and sighed. "Because where there’s one, there will be a second."
The faces of Brother Qiu and his men turned deathly pale. ’In this vast world, couldn’t they be granted just one small place to call their own?’
’They had already suffered enough.’
A wave of despair washed over them, but Jiang Si had no time to spare for more conversation. She had the monkeys drag the dying Gao Yuanshan back with them.
When Jiang Linhai saw that Jiang Si and Qin Shen had returned safely, he breathed a sigh of relief and hurried over to check on Gao Yuanshan’s condition.
"Is he dead?"
Jiang Si shook her head. "Not yet. But he’s close."
"So what’s the plan?"
"We’ll take him back, lock him up, then wake him and ask him a few questions."
"Okay."
Gao Yuanshan’s eyes fluttered open, his vision blurry. Pain wracked his entire body, as if he were being sliced by knives.
Jiang Si asked him, "Where are you from?"
Gao Yuanshan couldn’t make out Jiang Si’s face, but he tried to spit at her. The moment his mouth opened, Qin Shen punched him.
He was already on the verge of death, and now he’d been punched on top of it. With nothing left to lose, Gao Yuanshan yelled with all his might, "If you’ve got the guts, then kill me! Go on, dig out my energy stone! Let’s see what kind of monsters you become!"
Jiang Si’s brow furrowed, but Qin Shen looked completely unfazed.
’So, digging out another person’s energy stone lets you obtain their superpower?’
’If that’s the case, it’s no wonder that in my past life, a group of people carved me up alive right after I got my energy stone.’
’Judging by his tone, it sounded like an organization specializing in harvesting superpowers by digging out people’s energy stones already existed.’
Jiang Si’s expression hardened, and she pressed her foot onto his stomach. "I’m asking you, where are you from? If you don’t talk, we have plenty of ways to make you wish you were dead!"
But Gao Yuanshan was the stubborn type who wouldn’t yield until faced with death.
Jiang Si sneered. "Since you’re already here, why don’t you get a taste of all our superpowers!"
"Bo Xi, show him what you can do."
Bo Xi stepped forward and opened his palm. Wriggling insects seemed to pulse just beneath his skin, and a look of dread crossed Gao Yuanshan’s face.
Immediately after, countless insects began to pour out from under the door, swarming relentlessly toward him.
Soon, the insects were crawling over his shoulders, up his thighs, and onto his face—his eyes, nose, and ears. The terrifying, tickling sensation of the dense swarm made him scream in panic, "No! No! NO!"
At that moment, Jiang Si was like a villain from a movie, her beautiful face showing no trace of mercy. "Get inside his body. Slowly, little by little. Make him feel exactly how he’s being devoured!"
Jiang Si’s viciousness made Gao Yuanshan completely break down.
Just as an insect was about to burrow into his ear, he screamed, "I’ll talk! I’ll talk!"
Jiang Si waved her hand, and the insects poised to burrow into his body stopped dead.
Gao Yuanshan breathed a sigh of relief, his body looking even more frail.

Gao Yuanshan said weakly, "I came from Yakou."
"How many of you are there?"
"A lot."
"How many superpower users?"
"Five, including me."
"What are their powers?"
"Wind Control, Snow Control, Fire Control, and Invisibility. I’m the weakest among them... and the most expendable."
Bo Xi was stunned. ’So there really are this many superpower users in the world now.’
Jiang Si’s expression changed. ’If all of them were to come at once, they would be incredibly difficult to handle.’
’Fortunately, knowing their abilities ahead of time meant they could prepare some countermeasures.’
Jiang Si pressed on, "You dig out Superpower Stones to steal other people’s powers, right?"
Gao Yuanshan sneered. "Isn’t that obvious?" He then looked pointedly at Qin Shen, attempting to sow discord. "You know why I was out here alone? I was worried they’d kill me at any moment. You’re strong. You could kill all of them and make yourself even stronger."
With a loud SMACK, Qin Shen slapped him hard across the face.
Bo Xi trembled. ’He’d never expected the seemingly gentlemanly Qin Shen and ladylike Jiang Si to have such a violent side.’
Jiang Si’s gaze hardened as she continued her questioning. "Now that you’re missing, they’ll come looking for you. Do they have a way to find you?"
Gao Yuanshan gave a sinister laugh and spat out another mouthful of bright red blood. "Who knows? Maybe they planted a tracker in my body while I slept. Or maybe, with their special powers, they can just let the wind carry news of me back to them."
After the interrogation was over, Gao Yuanshan could no longer hold on and died.
Jiang Si grew worried. Those people would be coming for them soon.
But if they tried to leave, they could just as easily be found.
Bo Xi said, "Maybe we could just hide carefully?"
