Chapter 284: Taking it back (2)
Aurora felt relieved when she spotted Vincent exiting the blazing house with Regina in his hands. "Why did the two of you take so long to leave? I was just about to run in to get the two of you."
"It was my fault. I did not want to leave my family. I was trying to convince them to leave with me. Thank you," Regina thanked Vincent for safely getting her out of the house. "I have a bad feeling about leaving them behind but there is nothing more I can do."
"You tried your best. Do not blame yourself for whatever happens to them. Hopefully, they have all made it out," Aurora said to cheer Regina up but she was almost certain they wouldn’t make it out.
Chaos was having the time of his life setting the house on fire. It was evident by how loudly he was laughing as he did it. This was most likely the most exciting thing he got to do since the Goddess disappeared.
"What about Minnie? Did you...you know," Regina trailed off. She wanted to know if Aurora had killed her but she couldn’t bring herself to say it. freёwebnoѵel.com
"I did. Esmeralda was right by her side when she passed away. Now that Minnie is gone and the house is being destroyed, Esmeralda should no longer be tied to this world. If she remains, her soul will change to something evil and she will try to attack humans to take control of their bodies," said Aurora.
"About that," Regina awkwardly scratched the back of her head. "I saw the real Hamiltons while you were away. At first, they looked normal but then something about them quickly changed. Maybe they reached their breaking point and became evil? If that is the case, they would attack my family right?"
"Yes," Aurora honestly replied. There was no need to lie right now after what Regina witnessed. Regina knew her family’s fate with the souls she saw and rather than giving false hope, Aurora wanted Regina to be prepared for the worst. "You are more powerful than I thought. There are not many witches who can see the dead. You didn’t play around with dark magic, right?"
Regina shook her head. She was careful not to meddle with anything that looked dangerous. "I didn’t and I think I saw Esmeralda before I started to mess around with spells. She just popped up in front of me but there was nothing special I had done to make that happen."
"It is odd how you are moving away from being human to more like a witch." Aurora could not figure out how Regina became like this.
"There is a possibility you are behind this, Aurora," said Vincent. "You are like a lucky charm with the rare ability to grant wishes. You two have always been close so maybe without realizing it, something from you rubbed off on your sister. What your body was doing to her must have been dormant because you have no memories and no idea how to use your abilities. Perhaps the reason her witch side keeps growing is that you are back to normal." freewebnσvel.cøm
Aurora saw how that could be possible. They were always together and if she had subconsciously been making Regina’s witch side wake up, it would only get stronger now that she was back to normal. Meaning, Regina could eventually become a full witch and no longer be human. "Regina, do you wish to be human or a witch? I think that if this continues, you will turn into a witch and lose your human side. One day, I can grant a wish to make you normal."
"I enjoy playing around with spells but considering the fact I am going to marry Timothy, I don’t want him to be dragged into being around a witch. I will think about it and let you know. However, if I were a witch, would I be able to enter where the two of you live?" Regina looked specifically at Vincent for this question. As alpha, she needed his permission to visit Aurora.
"We allow witches with no bad intentions to offer their services. Note that if you become a witch, you will outlive your children and the man you plan to marry," Vincent informed her. This was one of the reasons people like him did not mix with humans. They did not want to see their loved ones’ day. "The way you age might slow down."
"Oh," Regina’s excitement disappeared. If she was told this before she grew closer to Timothy, she would have tossed out the idea of marrying him and live with Aurora now but she had started to feel something for him. "Then, I want to be made normal when you can grant the wish. After everything Timothy has done for me, I cannot abandon him. I am not that cold-hearted."
While the girls spoke, Vincent looked out at the house as he felt something strange approaching them. He noticed that he was the man Nathaniel but his scent was different compared to earlier. He focused on Nathaniel’s eyes and once he saw the darkness around them, Vincent knew there was something wrong with Nathaniel’s soul. "Whatever you saw stole your father’s body."
"What?" Regina turned around to see what Vincent was talking about. "Father? No, it’s not him," she found his eyes to be strange. "Who are you?"
"Something that you are not but you have enjoyed pretending to be," Nathaniel replied. "A Hamilton. My family should probably have your mother and brother’s bodies by now. We’re taking back what belongs to us. Thank you for the strength," he looked at Aurora as if she was the culprit behind them snapping out of their nightmare to take revenge.
"I should kill you," Nathaniel said to Regina. "But you are different. For trying to give everything back to us, I will spare you. Only you. Never return to this land that does not belong to you or I will rise again and take your soul."
